June 2007 LSAT Section 4 Question 13

Hi there,

I am going through my BR of the June 2007 LSAT. I got question 13 of section 4 wrong, so I am trying to understand why B is wrong but E is correct. The passage is focused on the study of music and language in humans. Could anyone help explain the reasoning to me?

Thanks in advance!

June 2007 Prep Test Section 1 Q. 22/23

Hi everyone,

I finished my June 2007 prep test and am now doing the blind review, however, I am still having trouble with figuring out questions 22 and 23 in the first section. The questions are regarding the recycling centres and materials. The rules for these questions are:

  • 3 recycling centres (C1, C2, C3)
  • 5 materials (plastic, tin, glass, wood, newsprint)
  • each centre recycles at least 2 but no more than 3 materials
  • any centre that recycles wood also recycles newsprint (WN)
  • every material that C2 recycles is also recycled at C1
  • Only one recycling centre recycles plastic, and that centre does not recycle glass
  • Question 22 reads: "If Centre 3 recycles glass, then which of the following kinds of material must Centre 2 recycle?"

    A. Glass

    B. Newsprint

    C. Plastic

    D. Tin

    E. Wood

Question 23: if C1 is the only recycling centre that recycles wood, then what could be a complete and accurate list of kinds of materials that one of the recycling centres recycles?

    A. P, T

    B. N, W

    C. N, T

    D. G, W

    E. G, T

Would anyone be able to explain how to find the right answer for these questions?

    Thank you in advance!

I just finished my test at 1pm PST. I had RC-LR-LG.... to me the LG wasn't difficult at all, except for the third game which I had a hard time making inferences. The fourth game was also on the trickier side. LR felt as normal as the 60s/70s/80s PTs but the RC was difficult. The passages weren't too long but the questions were definitely tricky; I also spent too much time on the first 3 passages and ran out of time for the last.

By no means am I a very strong LSAT taker - I procrastinated my studying over the summer and had to do an intense 2 months of studying between September and November, and of the several prep tests I took I was scoring around a 158. I know a lot of the comments above have been from people who were scoring much higher than me so if looking to know how the test was from the perspective of someone who's only hoping to break the low 160s, I don't think this test was too hard! Just remember everyone's experiences are different, always take a nice big breath in between the sections, and don't worry too much! Life goes on and things always have a way of working out, good luck! :)

P.S Proctor U wasn't great but it ran totally smoothly for me and the proctor was very nice. Also you get 60 seconds in between each section, as opposed to the several minutes you'd receive during in-person exams.

    Confirm action

    Are you sure?
