How to not think about admissions decisions!

Does anyone have suggestions to put admissions decisions out of one's mind? It's so hard not to refresh status checkers obsessively or constantly check my email, but I know it's a horrible use of time that only causes more stress! Thinking about limiting myself to checking my personal email 1-2 a day...

This casio one that J.Y. recommends is the best (it has the rotating feature you describe).

It's allowed. But just in case some proctor doesn't know what they are talking about and says it isn't in compliance, I'm bringing a back up casio without the rotating feature that I can reset quickly between sections (hopefully I won't need it!)

I received my confirmation this evening -- apparently they have a real back log on accommodations for this test. If anyone is reading this in the future and stressing because they haven't received their letter, be persistent but stay calm :) I spent way too much time stressing about something that turned out to be just fine!

I've really struggled with speed on LG, too -- but the times I've been able to get through the entire section with high accuracy are when I skip questions and even entire games and then come back to them. Even if I'm not technically stuck but I feel like a game is taking me too long, I'll move to the next one and then loop back. I find when I come back to a question or game that's hard for me it always looks easier the second time I see it.

It feels scary to move on from a game when you've already put a lot of work into the set up, though -- so I'm not as disciplined about applying this advice to myself as I would like!

Thanks so much for your advice, @ and @ . I've called and emailed, but if I don't hear from them by this afternoon I am going to do both again and express real urgency. I already had to cancel the hotel reservation I had booked for the night before the test since I don't know I will definitely be taking it there. It seems crazy that they aren't able to confirm with just a few days to go!

I was approved for the accommodation of testing in a private/low distraction room for the Nov 17th test. Less than a week from the test, the LSAT still hasn't confirmed where I will be taking my test. I've called a couple of times, and just keep getting the same response "You will receive an email when we have confirmed your accommodations." This is super stressful since I don't know if I'm going to need to make travel arrangements based on where I end up taking it, or whether they will be able to confirm them at all!

Does anyone else have experience with this? Should I be worried about the possibility that I may not be able to take my test under accommodated conditions at all since I still haven't heard back with my confirmation letter?

I so appreciate any advice -- this is stress I was really hoping to avoid the week before the test!

I just posted a similar question! I am in the same boat as you and conflicted because I feel like I hear competing advice all the time about how much it matters to apply by December.

Ask Schools to Hold App. vs. Apply Earlier

I'm wondering about the relative benefits of applying earlier versus holding out for my January score, assuming I take the test (I need to seriously consider I may just be too burnt out to take it). Would it make sense to go ahead and apply to schools where my LSAT is currently fairly competitive and ask schools where it is not competitive to hold my application? Or should I submit all or hold all of them if I sign up for Jan?

Practice Test without Scantron

Hi all,

The other day I took a PT without a Scantron out of necessity (I'd forgotten to take the one I'd printed out with me). I just wrote my answers down instead. The amount of time I had per section really shocked me. And the point increase I experienced seemed significant. It made me realize I was spending way more time being obsessive about bubbling in than I'd thought I had. I just wanted to share this experience in case it applies to anyone else -- you might be surprised how much speed you can gain by just bubbling a little bit faster! Doing a section or two without a Scantron might be a good experiment.

I completely ran out of time on LG this time... I just felt like each game took way longer to move through than the November test. I found the RC to be easier. Not sure about LR... I found it to be about the same as Nov but I ended up doing way worse on that than I’d thought!
