Thank you both! I found it and made it lol. By the way for anyone curious about Albany Law as a test center in general, it is amazing. This was my third time taking the LSAT and it was by far the best test center I have ever been to. The proctors were professional, the tables were spacious so there was plenty of room to stretch out and work, and we were given proper breaks and started promptly. Highly recommend!

Using old prep tests?

Hi! I've been studying for a couple months now, primarily using PTs 52-81. I was planning on taking the November exam and worked through most of them in anticipation, and then I missed the sign up date by literally a day, and got stuck having to wait for the January exam -- so I'm getting really close to being out of tests. What I don't want to do is get stuck in a situation where I'm taking exams where I'm overly familiar with the questions.

I could buy old PTs, but I'm not sure how relevant they are to the current exam -- I've heard logic games are pretty outdated. Should I buy them and work out of them now, then with a month out go back to the newer tests? Or should I not buy them at all and just stagger the practice tests until January?

LSAC Forums

Hoping to get some insight on LSAC forums -- are they worth going to, and if so, what do you get out of them? Application waivers, a boost in admissions? Is it an informal interview in some cases? Also, does anyone know where I can find the dates for LSAC forums this coming year? I'm hoping to apply this fall. I want to apply as early as possible, so probably October.

Thanks!

Albany Law School Test Center

Hi! I had a complete disaster in January lol I was registered and missed the test by 2 mins because I was late. Literally as soon as I walked up to the proctors they had just put pencils down. My life. Anyway, I'm not taking any chances for March, so I want to make sure I have everything planned. I checked my ticket and it says "Main Foyer" is where we report for the exam. Does anyone else know who's signed up there, or who has taken the test there previously, if that's the building where the gym is/the main classrooms?

Thank you!

Waiver emails

Hi! This is probably nothing, but do emails from schools that say "We are impressed by your accomplishments and believe you would be an excellent addition to our community," leading into a free application waiver mean you have a better chance of getting in than normal? I know the schools get the information from CAS, but not sure what exactly they're doing with it, and how meaningful these emails are.

Thank you! This is very helpful.

I have a quick question about LG 4 on PT 56. I got 3 questions wrong because I misunderstood one of the initial rules -- S cannot take place after any site that includes V.

I wrote it as S --- V even though it was supposed to be S is with or before V. I understood it in the context of the explanation posted, but am wondering if there's any other foolproof explanation that applies to games in general so I don't overlook it in the future?

Put it on the desk the first time I took the LSAT I was actually interrupted during my section because it was on my wrist.

They gave me a really small scholarship the first time I applied, yeah. I know a girl who got a 159 and got a full ride as well --- they're very generous with scholarship money. I've heard the same about Brooklyn Law and St. Johns -- if you get high 150s/160 you should be in a good spot for scholarship money.

Thank you for your advice! I feel much better/comfortable/relaxed about prepping for January now lol

Thanks! I saw the score release was in February -- that's what's really freaking me out -- but I guess as long as the application is in by then and they're aware of the release date, should be fine. My main worry is that they're going to see my previous scores and completely disregard my application. Does touring the schools and making them aware of me as an applicant ever help in this regard? On the forums I've seen mixed reviews about this.

January 2019 LSAT

Hi! I'm taking the LSAT for a third time, and applying for a second. My first two scores were 140 and 147 (both times I really didn't prepare properly), but my resume was really strong with the 147 and I was pretty eager to jump right into law school, so I figured I'd give it a go -- but I only got accepted to some mediocre schools like Hofstra, NY Law etc. so decided to go through the process one more time and study properly i.e. four months, with a tutor, etc. and now my PTs are averaging between 158-160. I was supposed to take the Nov. 2018 LSAT but literally missed the deadline by a day, and am still kicking myself. I called LSAC and of course they said no exceptions, so I signed up for January. My question is, can I still get accepted for Fall 2019 if I take it in January, and if the answer is yes, how do I go about the application process?

I'm still looking around at schools, but some that I am initially interested in are BU Law, Syracuse, Cardozo, and Penn State.

I'm hoping to raise my score to the mid 160s because my logic games score is still pretty low, and I just recently found the 7sage games explanations which are the first LG explanations that actually make sense to me. I'm averaging between 13-15 on that section and think with some serious practice that will change.

Can I be considered for evening and day division?

Circumstances in my life have changed since I submited my applications and I am starting to think the evening program may work better for me. Is it possible that after submitting applications asking to be considered for the day division, I can ask to also be considered for evening?

I'm primarily interested in

Brooklyn Law

Cardozo

Northeastern

Suffolk

This is random, but does anyone know if there is a way to check bags or coats so we don't have to lug them around during the forum?

LSAT Addendum for score increase

My LSAT increased 7 points the second time I took the exam and 6 points the third time I took the test -- in terms of an addendum, if I were to write one, would I treat the increase as a 13 point increase, or would I write about them individually?

Thank you!

June 2007 LSAT

I'm taking the January LSAT and it was suggested to me I do a couple of practice tests in the morning (8:30AM when the actual LSAT starts) to get as realistic of an experience possible before the actual exam. Today I took the June 2007 exam to get a feel for it, and my score tanked from my average (162) to a 156. So I'm kind of freaking out.

LR was fine, and pretty much how I usually score. My average is -4 and in the two sections, I scored -2 and -5.

My LG was a complete disaster. My average is -5 and I got -11. Could this be because it's an old test?

My RC was also unusually low. I'm not the strongest in RC in general -- I average 7.. but this time I also got -11. I attribute it to being tired in the morning which is something I'm going to work on these next few weeks before the exam.

I'm really looking for guidance as to whether or not the LG games on this exam are unusually difficult, or if this is a sign that I need to improve in the section all around.

What could possibly appear on the Jan. exam

So I was looking at the logic games section that appeared on the Dec. LSAT and noticed that there was a miscellaneous game -- which I've heard are rare in general on the exams. Since there was one on the most recent exam before January, does that in any way mean that the odds of us seeing one are lower?
