I think there might be an issue with how JY diagrammed answer choice (E). My interpretation:

N(cp) -- less likely --> M

N --m--> /M

-----------------

N(/cp) --l--> /M

The first premise still doesn't match the stimulus, so (E) is incorrect.

@ Generally, I wait until after BR calls to check my scores in order to get the most out of the discussion and not be biased towards an answer choice because I "know" it's correct.

In terms of checking your scores and some of the analytics - I'd say it depends on how many your missing for each section / question type. If you're missing a significant amount and won't be able to tell which questions you were right / wrong on ... then it probably affect your view too much. Otherwise, try to wait an extra day :)

PTing before finishing Core Curriculum

I've seen in other discussions that this is not advisable. However, I have been studying for nearly a year and took the LSAT once before. Although I went from a 157 diagnostic to a 168 on the February administration, this is less than what I was hoping for going in (low 170's).

Based on reading around, it seems that some of the T-6 schools will take some kind of average (feel free to correct me). I have thus revised my goal to 175+ and am planning to re-take in September. Also, after using a number of other test prep methods the first time around, I decided to build up stronger fundamentals using 7Sage's no-nonsense Core Curriculum and PT/BR process.

Like other 7Sagers, going through the curriculum has been slower than I initially expected. Should I stick to it or start PT'ing? Feeling pressured as other September test takers are joining the BR group and soon to have my prep limited to weekends due to work.

(B) incorrectly moves from small companies that have never advertised to all small companies

Q19 is a parallel reasoning question.

(Premise) [People who have habitually slept <6 hours a night] [begin sleeping 8+ hours] [typically] [feel less anxious]

(Conclusion) [Most people who sleep <6 hours a night] [probably] [cause anxiety levels to fall by begin sleeping 8+ hours]

(A) matches the stimulus:

(Premise) [Small company (never advertised)] [begin to advertise] [generally] [financial situation improves]

(Conclusion) [Most small companies that have never advertised] [advertise] [probably] [improve financial situation]

From what I can tell, Daniel lost his internet connection for a minute or so, which ended the meeting for everyone. We can't get back in without Go To Meeting login credentials, which none of us are privy to. Until someone like Josh/Nicole/Dillon notices, we can continue in the forums or call it a night.

@ if you take a look at the full BR group schedule, you will see that PT 76 was actually covered several weeks ago. We tend to stick to the predetermined schedule to provide more certainty to participants and ensure that the group covers as many different PT's as we can before test day. If you wish to discuss specific questions from PT 76, you are welcome to raise these in the appropriate threads.

@ Thank you for the detailed response. My understanding from speaking with students / practicing lawyers has been that top candidates will have both the numbers and soft factors. Meaningful work experience prior to law school seems to positively affect how future employers perceive you, and thus indirectly, the degree to which the AdCom believe you will succeed.

Even so... LSAT / GPA is pretty much all that schools seem to care about (as mentioned multiple times in this thread), which leaves me in an incongruous position.

On a related note - do you think some work experience (e.g., one internship during undergrad) prior to applying is important? Work is definitely cutting into my LSAT studying - both in terms of there being only so many hours a day and in being mentally / physically exhausting. Really only seeking validation at this point.

@ Looks like 7Sage has the 2007 test at the beginning of the course as one easily accessible option for a diagnostic test. If you have already written another diagnostic under timed, test-like conditions, feel free to skip and come back to it once you're done with the curriculum! The point of the diagnostic is for you to have some frame of reference of where you're starting out.

@ Sessions take 3-6 hours, depending on the size of the group, how many questions we talk about, how in-depth we discuss each question. We usually review both LR sections, and welcome participants to join / drop out as they need to.

@

Glad to hear you're interested in joining the BR group! We take the PT individually and BR as possible before discussing the PT as a group. The format of the call is that one person reads out their answers (rotates every two pages), and others chime in if they have different answers or an issue with any of the questions.

You are definitely welcome to "listen only" if using a mic is not feasible. However, we still encourage you to engage with the group through the chatbox feature. Hope that helps!

@ I interpret "shortly after [the group] starts" to mean (a) sometime into the call and/or (b) some later session.

For the former, folks are welcome to join / leave at any point, as you can make it. However, we typically don't cover logic games on these calls, so you would be better off watching 7Sage explanations.

Same flexibility for the latter - just join the calls when you are at that stage of your prep, have preptests to work with and are available during the scheduled time :)

@ - JY mentioned something very similar when I asked him about this on a BR call. In your case I think he meant all ACs besides the correct one, not just those you have concretely eliminated. Some LR questions should be as straightforward as LG - when you have decidedly arrived at the answer, you can consider all the others as wrong, even if you haven't read them!

First, commenting to express solidarity. I am in nearly the exact same situation as you, except I wrote in February instead of June.

What was your PT score range? If it was close to your target of 171+, I would suggest aiming higher - based on advice I've seen around here and personal experience, you might try for at least a 3 point margin of safety.

feel like I have an intuitive grasp of the questions, so I don't know how I should approach LR now. ... the questions I missed are question types that I had considered my strong areas during my prep so I think I made careless mistakes on the actual test.

I too, felt like I had an intuitive grasp on LR questions. In order to make that significant score jump, I figured it would be important to really understand the logic - to make LR as straightforward as LG. This includes foundational skills (e.g., translating conditional statements, keeping track of referential phrasing) and question specific approaches.

7Sage is definitely a solid resource for developing and mastering hard skills, not just intuition. Aside from the curriculum, the community has been great - I've especially benefited from Blind Review calls. In dissecting questions and answer choices, everyone pushes each other on thought process and reasoning - to an extent we may not have patience / discipline for on our own. If you haven't been on a BR call, I highly recommend you check them out.

@

I think the stimulus indicates a causal relationship between the Sumerians' inability to support agriculture and the collapse of their civilization. "When", used in this context, would indicate causation. An analogous example would be: "When I eat ice cream too fast, it hurts my teeth."

Thus, the second to last sentence should be read as a factual premise. It links up with the information given about irrigation to support the conclusion in the last sentence. This should help make (B) look less tempting (assuming that's what tripped you up).

Similar experience as @. In my testing centre, test takers' bags were stored at the front of the room, behind the proctors. If you can avoid bringing a bag to the testing centre (leave in car if driving, find secure storage space within walking distance etc.), I would recommend it based on the majority of responses in this thread.
