So glad to hear that you were able to reschedule for tmrw morning!😊 Mine is then as well!! Fingers crossed for a smooth process and our best performances!!🙌

And thank you so much for the detailed explanation! It’s so helpful!! One last question: regarding your comment on how you would have saved time if you had looked up your downloads, did you mean that it would have been better to access the existing ProProctor App on your computer?

Thanks again!

That must be SO stressful. I'm so sorry to hear that and hope you'll be able to take the exam today or tomorrow! I feel that it's only fair for LSAC to at least offer September if Prometric fails to arrange a test for you this month.

By the way, when you are done, can you share how you accessed the test? Is it enough for us to access ProProctor App when at the designated test time? I thought it wasn't clear on LSAC's instructions email and I'm having trouble getting in touch with the LSAC services team.

Again, best of luck!!

I thought E was wrong because of the word "faster." I think the stimulus clearly states that the "warmth-adapted beetles...colonized" earlier, but not faster. Isn't there a difference between the two? Please help!

New LSATs

Hi,

Is anyone aware of when LSAC will release new PTs and when they will be uploaded on 7Sage subsequently?

Also, are the changes to LG section expected to be applied from 2023 cycle?

Thank you!

@jhaldy10325 That would be amazing! I've been at a high 160s plateau for four months and I would really love advice on execution skills. Will definitely attend if you hold it!

I was really confused about this question, but after spending some time thinking about it, I came to conclude as follows.

We'd normally assume that there is a direct relationship between the health of an organism and the health of its environment. For instance, "healthier the environment, healthier the stingray" sounds convincing.

The stimulus suggests that that is not the case. According to the stimulus, there is a negative correlation between the health of a stingray and the health of the environment.

The medium through which this relationship is established is parasites. The correct answer must resolve and reconcile this seemingly contradictory situation by demonstrating how parasites function to realize the negative correlation, which (A) does.

"The best way" implies that it's one of the ways. In other words, the best way is a sufficient condition for "understanding others."

(Gain direct & complete grasp of motivation -> understand) is the best way.

Assumes that OPA is "Understand -> Gain direct and complete grasp of motivation."

Disproves it by showing the event of "Understand & Gain direct and complete grasp of motivation," which is direct contradiction of the OPA it assumes.

All in all, the stimulus' fault is in mistaking a sufficient for necessary.

Known for sure:

- Modern birds warm-blooded("WB")

- Growth rings("GR") are only found in cold-blooded("CB") animals. "GR -> CB"

- Prehistoric birds have growth rings and dense blood vessels ("DB"). "GR & DB"

Unkown:

- Whether prehistoric birds, with all of its traits, are WB or CB

Objective

- To identify the AC that provides theories/facts to justify prehistoric birds(again, with all of its traits)' being WB or CB

AC contenders are (D) and (E)

(D) Dense blood vessels are not found in all warm-blooded species

- In lawgic, "WB /DB." Negation is "WB -> DB."

- I think (D) is stated in favor of the stance that prehistoric birds are cold-blooded, perhaps to mislead us to think that DB is not exclusive to WB and therefore present among some CB. But we can see that (D) actually says nothing about the relation between DB and CB. Therefore, we cannot conclude that (D) resolves the dispute.

(E) In some cold-blooded species the gene that is responsible for growth rings is also responsible for dense blood vessels.

- Correct answer because it allows for the possibility of "GR & DB" & CB. Thereby supports the stance that prehistoric birds are CB, despite having some characteristics that the "Another study" uses to justify an alternative theory.

Wondering why D is incorrect as well.

It appears that Wirth provided only part of the picture and that such is the reason for his deducing a questionable conclusion.

Chang points out that additional information("Many of the researchers you refer to have found evidence that a set of several genes is involved and that complex interactions among these genes produce a predisposition to manic-depression) should be considered to deduce a proper conclusion. I thought Chang was pointing to the limited scope of evidence provided by Wirth as the primary source of error in Wirth's argument. Hence, I chose (D).

One reason for which (D) could be a wrong answer seems to be its diction. I would agree with striking (D) out if (D), as it's phrased, insinuates a strong intention by Wirth to disregard any contrary evidence for the sake of protecting his conclusion. I chose to think it didn't, and that Wirth had made the very human error of being selective in providing evidence as he was jumping to conclusion. But perhaps I was wrong to think so.

Please weigh in and let me know what you think! #help
