Im a little frustrated here, I answered D, which is incorrect. The defense for D being wrong in 7sage says that since the author suggests that the germination is enough to not threaten exctintion, that exctintion may not be threatened as a whole. But in the following paragraph, they mention that the population decline could be due to other things like disease, or damage done by nonindigenous animals ... why can these things not be factors that would cause exctintion???

I think this is a stupid question and is worded incorrectly. When something is "reproduced" in science, it means that you did the experiment twice and are trying to "reproduce" the same results. In this case, they are saying reproduction = duplication, which I think is incorrect, and is why I got the wrong answer.
