PT47.S3.Q14 - main cause of melanoma

http://classic.7sage.com/lsat_explanations/lsat-47-section-3-question-14/

I'm very confused with this specific question, one of the few LR that I have ever blind reviewed and been unable to get correct. It's a weaken question but the correct answer choice DIRECTLY attacks the main premise of the argument, basically completely renders it false. It is a, if true, question so in hindsight I can see how the answer choice is correct but it seems to defy my strategy for attacking weakening questions. Am I missing a subtlety here or did I just think to deeply into this question and miss the obvious answer..it doesn't help that none of the other answer choices seemed correct so I went with C because the argument claims that EVERYBODY needs to wear sun screen and the answer says that some people are allergic, but it does say some people allergic to most sunscreen so they clearly can just buy stuff they aren't allergic to. Mainly, does this answer choice bypass our Goku lazer beam analogy?

I firmly believe that I can blame reading comp for the recent greying of my hair..and I am 22.

Good luck haha, I can't afford to delay it now. But I have certainly improved to everyone struggling, I focused on the questions I struggled the most with (necessary assumption and parallel reasoning) and worked on making sure I was comfortable with those. Just having the confidence to attack 3/4 of the more difficult questions can be the difference between that 17 and the 21. At this point everyone writing in June should know their strengths and weaknesses, time to work on what needs work and just reinforce what you already have under timed prep test conditions. I can feel it falling into place.

Thank you 7-Sage

Just wanted to thank 7-Sage, the format, the community, everything about the site. I have been gone for a while but the principles I learned here became the foundations to my LSAT prep. I was able to score better then I ever planed on or hoped for, I didn't use any expensive courses or any special methods. I followed 7 Sage, internalized the material and practiced. I owe you a thank you as I move forward in my legal pursuits.

Does anyone have a link to this kind of information for schools in Canada? We may be up North but our admissions is essentially the same process. Thanks!

Getting worse at LR?...

Sooo I'm writing the June LSAT here in just over 3 weeks. Prep has been going well enough for my aims (164) or so. For the past few weeks I was writing LR getting 3-5 questions wrong under timed conditions. This was okay for me as my reading comp and logic games as stronger scoring anyway. But for the last 3 prep tests under timed conditions I have scored 17-19 on the logic games everytime. I've been able to stay in the 160s (barley). But that's thanks to some great scores in the other 2 sections, scores I'm not sure I can count on on test day. So now what do I do, I almost feel like I'm over thinking LR at this point and starting to psyche myself out. Not good. Any tips would be great.

Yea like for everyone freaking out about the last game, it was equally as shocking for everyone so expect that to be reflected on the curve. Unless you need a 170+ that last game should not have, on its own, destroyed your LSAT score. It came out of no where but don't let the discouragement from 5 questions destroy your confidence in the test as a whole. Its not out of 24 its out of 100!

keep track of your progress, and not just how your score was but how you performed, did you -6 for RC on every test? Did you go -5 for LR, and were 3 of your wrong answers parallel flaw? This helps you not only see your improvement but also see where you are consistantley struggling to help you attack your weaknesses and truly improve.

So for question 19 we are left to presume that because the author states that the audience has the capabilities to view the world beyond their own perspective, that we can then automatically infer (which I believe LSAT world means prove undeniably) that they then wield the capacity to feel empathy for the characters, when the word empathy itself is never stated in the passage directly? Is that not a stretch on LSAT assumptions.

I have heard really good things about the Manhattan RC book, as well as the LSAT trainer those were both materials I have thought about looking into so I'm glad to hear someone bring them up again. I do believe it was primarily timing, just got nervous on test day and felt the pressure on RC more then the other sections.

How to Rewrite?

Hey guys so I used 7sage here to help me reach my goal of 163 on June LSAT with 4 weeks of studying. I crammed the LSAT in that time, crunching PT 50-71 and doing the entire course with Power LR/RC bible. With that being said I under performed on this LSAT to my PTs, going -14 on RC. Any advice on how to prepare for a September retake? Anything under 170 really won't help me very much either.

Yea Ike what your saying basically mirrors my progress (except in a higher range), so I have to agree fully, its just started to feel like a breakthrough where the tests are easier and the answers stand out. I've just read online people strongly advising not do a prep test a day, but I feel like I've been able to improve because of the PTs and reviewing them. Most noticeable in NA, SA questions, I went from taking "logical" guesses between 2/3 answer choices to being able to feel the answer. Its through experience. Part of me also just didn't think I'd ever get to the 170 range, but I may as well try for 175! Thanks.

1 Week Out

Hi guys, so I'm sure all of us writing June 9th are starting to get less and less sleep imagining the day we sit down to write this thing. For me this will be my very first (and hopefully only) LSAT, my question is how do I handle these last important days? I started prepping after my finals April 25, so I've had about 6 weeks of hard studying. I've progressed well in the limited time, starting diagnostic at 158, sat around the low 160s for the middle 3 weeks and then the last 2 weeks my PT have been 164, 166, 161, 168, 172 and 171, in that order. This is exactly where I need to score, hopefully avoiding the 161. I've saved prep test 68-71 to do over the next 8 days. How can I make sure I keep rolling, I feel like I'm starting to "peak", the LR answers are jumping out at me as correct and I have scored perfect on my last 4 LG sections (RC is the reason I don't score higher about -8 every time). I need this to last until the 9th, I cant afford to burnout but I also cant slowdown. Any suggestions for how to handle these final days?
