Chapman Law School, Orange, CA/USA

Proctors: The proctors were very nice but also very strict about items allowed in the room. I was forced to throw away an energy drink because it had text on the outside and many people were similarly asked to throw away food items, etc.

Facilities: Very easy to navigate. There were restrooms, drinking fountains, and other facilities typical of a campus building.

What kind of room: It was a typical law forum room shaped in a semi-circle with tiered row seating.

How many in the room: About 20 test takers

Desks: Continuous desks throughout each row which provided more than enough room to feel comfortable.

Left-handed accommodation: Yes.

Noise levels: Low.

Parking: Parking was fairly straight forward and easy. The meters to buy your parking pass were sort of difficult to find at first but they're located near the elevators. Parking only cost about $5 for 12 hours so it was relatively cheap.

Time elapsed from arrival to test: About 30-45 minutes.

Irregularities or mishaps: Someone's phone went off during the test and he was removed. Leave your phone in your car, it's not worth the risk!

Other comments: The classroom was very comfortable and the "continuous" desks in the room provided substantial room.

Would you take the test here again? Yes, absolutely.

"Every case" and "all cases" mean exactly the same thing.

Hey Gina,

Although you arrived at the right answer, you did so through incorrect logic translation (looks like you got lucky on this one!). I got tripped up my first time around as the second sentence in the stimulus is a pretty tough one to translate given that it not only had a Group 3 & 4 mashup, but a pretty difficult one. Ultimately, your chain should've looked like this:

Effective (E) → Indep Learners (IL) → Own decisions (OD) → Power to make Decisions (PD)

This question is additionally tough because it asks us to use information from the stimulus and Question stem in conjunction with the answer choices. In the Q stem we are given OD and expected to pick out a false conclusion in the answer choices based on this. With OD we can only conclude PD (OD → PD), so we want to look for something in the answer choices that directly contradicts this relationship/conclusion. Answer choice (E) tells us that, in conjunction with teachers who have enabled their students to make their own decisions (OD) from the Q stem, teachers do not have the power to make decisions, or: OD → PD

This directly contradicts our conclusion from the stimulus that OD → PD and so this is the correct answer. Sorry for the long answer/I hope this helped. If you have any other questions please feel free to reply.

While I agree that this is the case most of the time, I would be mindful of the possibility of the contrapositive of I→PA which would be PA → I as an answer choice. JY has explained previously that the LSAT writers will most likely make you use the more remote inference, in this case c ←s→ PA, making you use your brain a bit more to connect the logical dots. But again, I wouldn't necessarily rule out the possibility of an All statement as an answer choice.

This one is intense! Took me a little bit longer than usual to arrive at the right answer but I got it nonetheless. This is the epitome of a tough logic translation question. I will definitely be revisiting this one later on.
