Hi everyone, I am just very cautious. Sometimes I did not have time for POE in PT and I just circled the choice I felt very comfortable with. And then BR this question after PT is done. I almost always end up BRing the whole test even I took 20 PTs( BR score is around 172) already. Is this an issue? Thank you!!

Hi Everyone,
In the beginning of June this summer, I was in the middle 150. In the last 4 prep test, I got 154 in prep test 63(BR 169), 160 in prep test 49(BR 172), 157 in prep test 68(BR170), and 160 in prep test 51(BR 174). RC is my worst section and I always tend to miss 10-12 questions in prep test and miss 4-6 questions in BR. Now I consider doing easiest question in each passage first and then going back to harder questions in each passage instead of trying to finishing up all the questions in one passage first then going to next passage. Usually I only have 3 or 4 minutes left for the last passage and I missed some questions that I could have got right given enough time. I tend to spend 3.5 minutes on the passage but easily got stuck in questions. Besides the Economist, I am also reading some classy British Literature such as the Great Expectation. Since i am not a native English speaker , I think reading some novels will help my reading skill.
This is my raw score and BR score from the recent 4 prep tests for the reference:
Prep test 63, first LR 20 (BR 21), LG 17 (BR 23), second LR14 (BR 23), RC13 (BR 22) Raw score 64, BR score 89.
Prep test 49, LG 21(BR 22), first LR19 (BR 24), RC 17 (BR 21), second LR 19 (BR 25), Raw score 76, BR score 92.
Prep test 68, RC 13 (BR 24), first LR 21 (BR 22), second LR19 (BR 20), LG16 (BR 23), Raw score 69, BR score 89.
Prep test 51, first LR 18(BR 23), RC16 (BR 24), second LR18 (BR 24), LG 22 (BR 22), Raw score 74, BR score 93.
Still, when I do RC and LR, I was always frustrated by getting stuck on questions and spending 2 minutes on some hard questions and still did not get it right. I usually spend 9 to 10 hours doing BR and aim to get 180 in BR. I usually can get LR questions right during BR. Sorry for typing so much. What would guys say my problem is? Is it just timing or fundamental issues? Besides the Economist, would reading some difficult novel help my reading skill? Thank you guys for bearing this long post! :)
Hi Everyone
In the beginning of doing prep test, my highest actual score is 152 with highest blind review score 162 after 7 prep tests. I figured something went wrong and I stopped doing prep-test and focused on drilling cambridge RC, LR section. I just restarted prep test this week. I got 155 in prep test 47 with BR score 167, and I got another 155 with BR score 173 in prep test 64. Does the difference between BR score and actual score signify how much I can improve?
Another thing is when I do LR sections, I always have second thoughts. Something like "oh man, why do I get stuck even before question 10, this should be easy" and I vacillate between 2 or 3 answer choices a lot, which wasted me lots of time. When I BR these questions, I usually found I chose right answer or I got it after several thoughts. It happened to me in the RC as well since I want to get all of questions right in the first passage which is supposed to be easier than other passages. I normally get above 20+ questions right in LG. Did what I said ever occur to you guys? How did you guys overcome this barrier? Thank you so much 7sagers!
Hi 7sagers, I just had a confusion cause by PT 68 section 2 question 24. JY's explanation is if Hormone causes Stress, then reducing Hormone can reduce stress. However, I always think if A causes B, then it works like conditional logic A--->B, \A does not mean \B. Is A causes B necessarily equal to A--->B? Thank you so much.
Hi Sagers
Recently I've been drilling flawed questions. Basically, I try to find the gap in the argument first then attack the argument. However. I have a hard time finding the "right gap" or I find the gap but picked up wrong answers choice. What problem would it be? How would you guys approach flaw questions? Thank you so much! :)
Hi Everyone. I started studying LSAT by using 7sage since June in the summer. I just started doing Prep Test last Monday. However, my first prep test is only 149 and my second prep test is only 147. I knew that I just started prep test, but 149 and 147? That almost broke my heart. I am usually good at logical games but I only got 15 out of 23 right in these two prep tests. I don't know why. Am I still hopeful to get over 166? Thank you guys. I will appreciate any advice.
Hi guys, did you ever encounter this issue: After you read a RC passage, you think you understand this passage, and you know the support for argument, but when you get to questions, you can't refer some ACs back to passage and you are not confident enough to eliminate wrong ACs? It happens to me sometimes in RC. Thank you all. I am still recovering from burn-out after I found out I was not really recovered on this Thursday, :( :(.
@ Hey broski, now my choice is down to Vandy and BU since I am not into IP law. I found BU and Vandy have similar job placement rate but Vandy's NLJ ranking is a bit lower than that of BU. That's what makes me nervous. Since I am going to visit BU this weekend, I will arrange another trip to Nashville in order to make a comparison. Thank you so much for your advice. I really appreciate it.
@ whoa, this is right to the point. I am gonna do it now. I want to practice corporate law. That is why my decision is down to BU and Vandy. Vandy is gonna get back to me regarding the amount of scholarship (will be determined in late February). Job placement rate is what I care about most. Your list idea is so constructive. Thank you so much!
@, damn, you still remember me, how touching it is!!! I love both BU and Vandy. I am going to BU this weekend. I will absolutely arrange another trip to Nashville. Vandy's NLJ ranking seems lower than that of BU, which is why I still hesitate. The touchy thing is that I am an international student. Getting a job is my priority. Thank you so much for your advice.
@, I place BU and Vandy over GW as well cause I am not interested in IP law. I still prefer to practice law near NY, MA market (may be DC, not so sure). I think now it is boiled down to which city I like more. Thank you for your advice.
I download an app called "Tuneln Radio," where you can listen to a lot of supreme court debates there. I think listening to those debates can also help you improve your sense of argument.
Hey man, I had similar experience right after I completed the CC. I would recommend that you print out a new PT for doing BR. Looking at your original answers might negatively impact you cause you might not want to admit that you made a mistake (Everyone has proud, you know). This way works as if you are doing an untimed PT. It does not hurt to try this way. Good Luck!
@, holy shit, you are right!!! I want to practice corporate law, specializing in merger and acquisition. I am going to check them out now.
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
I just reread this poem after I wonder why I chose law school. I remember last year my mom and uncle said law school does not fit me since it is too hard. They said I should just choose an easy major and get an easy job. However, I know that an easy job can't win me a green card and there is no shortcut to success. Today, after I read this poem, I realize that I choose a path that lots of international students do not choose. That makes all the difference. What do you guys think of this poem? Besides the LSAT, we can still have some discussions for fun to avoid burn-out. :)
@, I found logical reasoning section most helpful.
I had very similar experience even after I finished CC. I would recommend the LSAT Trainer as a supplement.
@, I prepared LSAT for roughly 1 year and a half. I am actually not proud of it cause it took so long.
@, yep. In Philosophy courses, we get to read very difficult materials and arguments.
@ I received offer from Vanderbilt Law today. Geez, this decision-making is getting tougher.
@ , law school is just a new beginning. T-14 does matter. But I disagree with the saying that if you fall out of T14, then you are doomed. After all, your hard work and connections also matter to you getting a good job. I still have to keep the fight on. Good luck to your application!

Sometimes no news is good news! But yeah generally you'll get an email from the school saying your application has been decided and to check the status on their website. Otherwise you'll get a letter in the mail stating a rejection or a package in the mail stating an acceptance. All the best! :)
Awesome! That sounds decent enough for me!

Right now, the fastest acceptance letter is 3 weeks away from I submitted my applications, which were to GW law and William and Mary law. BU law and Emory law took roughly 1 month and a half. I am still waiting for Berkeley, UCLA, Vanderbilt, and Georgetown.
Congratulations! I envy your acceptances so far. You and I only have Baylor in common, but the rest is far more impressive than mine. You deserve it for the hard work you put in, and I hope you have a regarding law career because of it!
Actually, it is not Baylor University Law but Boston University Law School.

Yes, you need it for sure! At least that is my experience.

@ I agree with your assessment! I also had Econ as a major major and Philosophy as a minor in college. Great choice!! Great minds think alike ;)
For real? Did you minor in Philosophy to help you to read and write better? At least that is my intent in the beginning.

I work for a D.C. think tank. I'm so sick and tired of the D.C. politics. I will head for the west coast for law school this fall... I know this is not helpful...I just feel compelled to add another miserable aspect of D.C.:) BU and GW are both great. I think your decision should come down to where you plan to practice what kind of law and which school can best help you achieve this goal.
D.C. politics? This sounds very interesting. I want to practice corporate law or business law. I felt like BU is better fit for me. Now my decision is becoming clearer :)
@ , GW has high big law placement rate, but a chunk of them goes to IP law. The problem with me is that I have an Econ degree and philosophy minor in undergraduate. My major does not fit IP law. If I can't pursue IP law, I am really worried whether GW is a good fit for me regardless of how splendid resources that reside in DC. Thank you very much for giving me your insight.
@. Thank you so much for your insight. I felt like GW is living in the shadow of GT. I mean in the future I still want to practice law in the NYC. Fordham can be a good choice for me, but the problem is BU has given me scholarship while Fordham law is notoriously stingy for giving scholarships.
@, any comment is helpful for me, no worries!! DC is a wonderful city that is full of opportunities. However, I saw that BU has higher biglaw placement rate, bar passing rate, and job placement rate. Anyway, I decide to go visit BU next week and GW next month to see which city do I want to go most.
@, thank you so much for your insight. However, I checked the NLJ ranking, and I found out that BU's biglaw placement rate is higher than that of GW. I am not so sure where I want to practice law. That's why I am struggling between BU and GW.
I planned on doing PT60 today and joining BR group tomorrow. However, I did really bad on the LG which is what I am good at and my mind was clouded when I was doing the third section. I literally could not think and had headache. I just could not take in any information at all. I gave it up and switched to problem sets. Same, I had headache again. Is this burn-out? Do I need to give myself a day off tomorrow? I've been studying for at least 8 hours per day since this summer because I am studying full-time. Any advice for avoiding burn-out? Thank you!!! :)
@ , that is very good to know. Thank you again!!
Hi guys. I've been focusing on Logic Game bundle for almost 2 months and I am about to start real prep test. Since I did not focus on LR too much recently. Do you guys think I need to review for previous class first then do prep test? I do not want to waste these precious prep test in 7sage. I will appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.
BTW, how is law school transparent? Is this a good website to use?
Jesus Christ, I am usually good at LG but the third game totally threw my off and I was literally blank for 3 mintues and had to jump to G4. Thank god there are only 5 questions!
I've been practicing LSAT since June 2014. I went through all 7sage materials besides Logical Game Bundles in the end of August. Then I spent 3 months going through all Logical Game Bundles. During that months, all I did was logic game and reading the Economist. After Logical Game Bundle is over, I started Prep Test right away. I think you all know the result. It was awful. After 7 prep tests, the highest score I get is 152. Then I realized something went wrong. I stopped prep test. In the winter, I bought old LSAT and kept doing untimed Logical Reasoning. Gladly, I could get roughly more than 20 right, sometimes even 22, or 23. Recently, I started doing timed section and Blind Review. I gave myself 45 minutes at first. Then, I gradually reduced my time to 40 minutes. However, I could only get 16 questions right without blind review. Even with blind review, I can only get roughly 19 or 20 questions right. I am a good student. I got 3.8 GPA in UNH. After I transfer to Fordham University in my junior year, I am having 3.9 GPA. I am contributing at least 3.5 hours per day for LSAT. But the result broke my heart again. I am sorry for typing so much. But any advice will be appreciated. Thank you. I am an international student from China. English is my second language.
You guys just take one of the most difficult exams and you guys rock! How do you guys feel about it? Is there any section particularly difficult?
Hi Everyone,
I apologize if this discussion distracts someone studying the LSAT and I seriously need to apologize since I posted this discussion before and I just did a minor edition to it. I currently got into BU law, Emory Law, Georgewashington Law, and william and mary law (receive scholarship from all of them). When I limited my choice to GW and BU (incline to BU), an offer from Vanderbilt Law School kinda ruined my decision. Is it true that ranking does not matter if law school is not T14? I want to practice corporate law in Northeast area such as NY, MA (might be DC if possible). As an international student, I really cared about if I can get a job. Now it is GW, BU, or Vandy. 7sagers, what do you think? Thank you so much for whoever has left their comment down here!!
Hi Guys
During the 15 minutes recess after first three sections, what do you guys usually do? Listening to cheerful music like Rocky's theme song is usually what I do. Do we need to relax during this 15 minutes or make us more excited facing the rest of sections?
Hi Everyone
I finally score 20+ in RC recently but I am sure I still need to keep my diligence up. I am reading the Economist, the scientific americans, and supreme court argument. However, I think passages in scientific american are too short compared to RC passages. I love the Economist but they only have a few science passages. Does anyone try other outside sources for RC? Thank you!!
I am also struggling with this question. I think scholarship, job placement rate, city should be the factors that you consider.
