Many = Some

B is correct because it tells us something we already know. Remember to imagine the answer choices as a verbal response to the argument. How goofy would it be for the opposition to argue, "Well, some people didn't have hiccups." After we just said that some people do experience them and X virus is the only known virus to cause that symptom

Would an accurate reading of E be that the data in the 24-year study was bad? The reasoning I used was that the study had more smokers in the low-intake group. Which, skewed the results. The bad data would help to explain the discrepancy... right? Or is my translation of the grammar wrong here?

This is a different question type than the ones that we have previously encountered. You are correct that there is nothing mentioned in the stimulus regarding the information contained in answer choice C. However, with this new question type, the key is in the question stem. The stem asks us to essentially "reconcile the apparent discrepancy". So, these questions require us to bring in additional information outside the stimulus to form a reasonable hypothesis for the phenomenon.

I attached the lesson that explains the theory behind the Resolve, Reconcile, and Explain question type - Hope this helps!

#feedback 7Sage has been super helpful in my study so far. I process information much faster after going through the fundamentals course (which I highly recommend not skipping). I get many questions correct during drilling and the Youtry modules. My biggest hurdle right now is myself. I make assumptions reading value judgments into the stimulus, missing keywords in the question stem, and during my blind review, change my answers to wrong ones. Confidence and overthinking are the problem. However, the best antidote is more practice to compensate for the lack of confidence. Any other tips for building mental toughness when it comes to these questions to counter overthought? Is time something to disregard for the sake of comprehension of q stem and stimulus?
