So I'm not up there with you Big League-ers, but I can share stories. I have applied to 7 schools so far, and thinking about 2 more. The first was back at the end of January. I heard back already from one of my schools, literally 11 days after I submitted the app, with some money. I was BLOWN away by that because it wasn't the first submitted app so I didn't expect to hear anything for another couple weeks, at least. I'm thinking positive vibes for all you T14 people!!!

So I just applied to some schools end January/early February, and I already heard back from one, and was accepted with some $$. I also had panic feelings about being "late" but this one school in particular was super fast in responding! I have to say it's not a T14, but I'm not looking for that, either. So there may be a difference in terms of where you have applied versus the responses you might get here.

@leahbeuk911 thanks so much. Just reading your words, from a non-emotional perspective, really helped. I was worried since I'd already started applying, and am 99% sure I can't wait another year (I'm the one you wrote to once and suggested that and I explained my extenuating factors...).... so to know there's a minuscule chance that if I do really well in March -- since I haven't stopped studying -- I could maybe use that as a last ditch effort for negotiating is helpful. Would love to DM you about my thinking, however, and get more insight on your thinking because I believe you once said you did a cycle and applied -- and then waited and re-applied with better scores, etc. right?? I'm curious to how those decisions were made, why, etc. (if, of course, you're willing to share). Thanks!!

Now what?? Scored 1 point lower

So got my January score. I knew I bombed the LG section. I was prepared to think I'd failed miserably then. I got my score just now and I got one point lower than my November...so while bad, at least not as horrific as I was preparing myself for.

How badly will this affect me now that I have already applied?? I was doing this to see if I did better, to try negotiating for more money, if any is even offered....so no that's out the window. Do I do March anyway to see??

Right @sarahshammaa229 ...so I didn't list the January test.

Thanks @yifeiwang926 . I have been attending those office hours, but hadn't asked that specific question. I remember David once mentioning to someone you could always email them after applying to let them know you got a better LSAT score, so ultimately, I went with applying now and we'll see what happens. :-)

@ninaleaoishi762 if/when something like that happens, do people normally re-apply to the same school the following year and just re-take the LSAT, etc. or improve in whatever way they needed to do? Just curious.

@ninaleaoishi762 thanks for your input. My softs and work are pretty ok, I think (I'm a non-traditional student with a bunch of scholarly work). While I would love to wait, I'm kind of timing this with other things in my life (job-related, kids, etc.) so I don't know as that's as feasible to wait an entire cycle. I get why you say what you say, just not sure that works in my case. Thank you so much for responding to me!

I study all over the place, including my office at my job (a university, so it's pretty quiet when my door is closed), the library (I've used the main floor with other students so I have that distraction going on), and my own home desk. I haven't had luck with the 7Sage app, but apparently I'm doing it wrong -- I had no idea I could increase distractions in it!! How cool, @mjmonte17592 .

I agree about being near a window, and I'd add that it's important to have photos of loved ones (or a special place) on the desk. I find that when I'm stressing over things, I can look at the photo for a minute and it noticeably reduces my stress. I'm also a big fan of oil diffusers, so I've been using those, as well.

I used to always have music playing when I did work, but haven't yet with studying -- anyone else use music and does it help? I mean there are studies that show music can help you retain information if it's not a distraction (e.g., you aren't doing karaoke with it). LOVE the idea of fresh flowers as a treat @alenisleon902 !!!

So I got a decent score on my November 2018 LSAT but wanted to score higher, because, well, money. I'm ready to apply to a school (UConn) and am unsure if I should wait for my January scores to come back or not. I remember feeling like I did alright on the LR and RC sections, but that LG section just about killed me. I worry that if I wait, my score will not actually be higher and then I've hurt my "earlier" application chances (and yes, I know it's getting later in the cycle).

Thoughts??

Considering they prefaced it as an "anxiety" survey, I was surprised to see so many Qs about identity (they were obviously going for race/ethnicity) and intelligence...

Overall, LR didn't feel awful or RC -- but that LG section.. Killer compared to November. Weird games.

@arina185271 your LG section with the East/West banks was real (I only had one LG section). So your 3rd LG counted. The LG you had with the XYZ was experimental.

Thank you for sharing this . I needed to hear this: "I had to truly embrace that LSAT isn't worth getting upset, anxious, or depressed about, that law school was just one out of infinite options, and that if something was fated to happen, or if something was able to teach me something, then it cannot be a bad thing and that if it wasn't a bad thing, then I shouldn't feel bad. Whatever happened, happened, and whatever will happen, will happen."

@kelilliework244 try listing it in your resume. That's where I listed publications anyway, on recommendation from Admissions office hour session.

@atanasdimitrov322 I felt the same, at least with that one LR section before my break, and that LG (I had LR RC LR LR LG). I also took November.

If we had the same order (LR-RC-LR-LR-LG) APPARENTLY the first LR (26) and the last LR (25) are the real ones, with the second LR being experimental.

oooooooh, I hope so -- how do you know?

I had three LR's. I'm hoping that the first one was the experimental because that one was the hardest for me. I don't remember questions from that section. But the second LR, first question was about Sara being the best runner. The third LR, second question was about the medical residents. Hopefully my last two were real.

I also had 3 LRs, but I don't remember a question about a Sara or her being the best runner. . .

I had the same order and I feel the exact same about the third LR section. Maybe it just felt harder because we were nearing the end of the test?

I had the same LR RC LR LR LG. Felt the same about the third section! hard!

Was that section real or experimental?

I believe the second LR was experimental. That's what I've heard people saying.

Man, I hope so! I let that 2nd LR throw me off on my timing, and while I fixed it at the end, that initial struggle makes me think I probably did pretty rough on that one compared to the others.

Thats what i had too! The second one had 26qs and was the hardest one for me too, and it was real unfortunately. > @sshen2988341 said:

How do you know this one was the real one?

Same!! I felt the second LR was much harder than the others.
