Hi! Don't let your belief in yourself and your abilities waver! That could be your downfall if you let it! I'm sure your mentor will have the best advice for you, but here are my thoughts.

It all comes down to how close your current LSAT score is to your target score and whether or not your PTs indicate you can score much higher on the exam (if your PTs are higher, keep drilling and November could be your chance to achieve your best score, if your PTs are lower, not to worry, you still have SIX weeks to get there).

A few questions to ask yourself:

are you comfortable with applying with the score you currently have or might achieve in November, even if it is lower than you wanted? Is it competitive enough to warrant the time spent writing your applications?

will your GPA or personal statement help boost your application?

if you do not have the time or the money to study and re-apply next cycle, do you have an alternative plan for your future? If you know law school is meant for you, you can always revisit the prospect down the road and play the long game of saving and studying.

Even a little bit of studying every day makes a difference, so keep going for November! I believe in you!

Good luck:)

Law Hub has the exact interface of the exam and it includes the four section format

Hello! Ultimately, you know yourself best and have to decide which option makes you feel more comfortable between the options.

Take October feeling unprepared and take advantage of the score preview (which now can be used for every writing of the LSAT for a fee), then write November already having had your "first exam" experience behind you and feeling more confident

Wait until November and feel more confident with your abilities and PT scores going in, and ideally nail it, otherwise having to wait until January to write again.

Other considerations:

-If you write October will you feel motivated or burnt out to keep studying for November, while not knowing your October score yet

-Will writing in October give you a push to study harder before and give you a head start for preparing for the November exam

-Will Christmas and New Years impact your study time before the January LSAT

-Do the schools you plan to apply to look at the average or the highest LSAT score on file

-If the October LSAT does not go well, are you comfortable with schools seeing that you canceled a score

Good luck! The standard advice of 7Sage is to write when you are ready, but the choice is yours:) I was you last year and chose a version of option 1. I'm not sure if it really made too much of a difference, Law Hub PTs are identical! As well, many people say it's common to freeze writing it the first time, but for me, I actually scored a few points higher than I had ever done in a PT, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Canadian Application Question

I will be applying to UBC, UVic, the University of Calgary, the University of Alberta, and Dalhousie and will be writing the LSAT again in November. I already have an LSAT score on file, though it is about 7 points lower than my goal score.

Should I submit my applications prior to the November LSAT, to potentially be reviewed with my current LSAT score, or should I wait until after I write the LSAT again? Does it matter?

Thank you!

Hi! The email that scheduling is now open should be received about two weeks before the LSAT (it was for April). You shouldn't worry that you will miss this email though because another one will be sent prior to that about what day and what time scheduling will open. You will be able to set your alarm and be ready to go the minute you can sign up if you want to!

One thing to keep in mind as well, you can do the score preview and cancel your score for ALL your LSATs now, not just the first one. Good luck if you decide to write it! If not, all the best on your LSAT studying journey:)

@ I'm applying to UBC, UVic, UofA, UofC, and Dal. Similar to you, I would be very happy to get in anywhere, but my top choices are between UBC and UVic. They have the highest average LSAT scores though so we will see what happens when I re-write in November.

As well, GOOD LUCK! I'm sure you'll do great and then you'll be done studying for this exam! I'm excited about that too.

Maybe if we end up at UVic together we could meet up:)

Since Canadian 7Sagers seem relatively rare here, I was curious where else you guys are applying, what your first choice is, and why that's your first choice.

Hope your studies are going well!

May I ask what you found needed to change to get from 152 to 161?

@ Do you happen to know what the average LSAT for admission was last year? I believe the information on the website is from the year prior to that and I was wondering if it changed. Thanks!
