So, I've been accepted to two great schools one in the 20s and one in the 30s in the rankings. However, I am trying to get into a top 5 school. I have a 161 now, but am seriously thinking about retaking in February. Can retaking hurt my chances at all? I also have a 3.87 GPA and very strong softs on my resume.

I know the scores won't be released until the 22nd, but I still check the site daily. The other night I dreamed that I got a 170. Then I woke up, drank a glass of water, and dreamed I got a 155. This whole waiting 3 weeks thing is just way too much for a person to handle...
Thanks. That's a really good point. In my email I will make clear that I'm really not looking for something else I honestly just would rather no one else has to take theirs on those desks.
I think you should report that mistake. Sounds like the kind of thing that could really affect a score.
I struggled with RC, but felt ok on LR and LG. Honestly though, I just have no fricking clue how I did. After months of instant gratification with the LSAT Analytics here on 7Sage's page this three weeks is going to be a monster.
Ok, so...here is the thing. There were four classrooms of testakers at my school. Three of the four had full size tables to work on. One had tiny arm desks. Guess which one I was in. In addition to that a left handed student got to leave my testing room to move to a room with a desk because no left handed desks were available. I don't think it seriously affected my grade, but by the end of each section I was tense, much tenser than I have been at tables while conducting my PTs.
I really hate to complain, but what do y'all think? Should I report this to the LSAC?
nevermind, found it!

So awhile back there was a discussion that had a link to this great law school comparison website on here. I cannot for the life of me remember what the name of the site was. Does anyone else remember this?
So I had the tiny desks which aren't even big enough to spread the exam out on. Meanwhile, the other three classrooms at my university had full size desks. I'm not going to file a complaint....just wanted to gripe. There, now I'm done.
I feel the same way!!
Your goal needs to not be taking a certain # of PTs, but developing an understanding of the exam. if you can do that...then test in Dec.
For me its usually pretty obvious. I never split if I feel like there will be more than 3 boards to deal with. Too much going on on the page to make the time spent splitting worth it. I don't know if that is the right answer...its just what i do.
The modern logic games are spread out over 2 pages with plenty of space for diagramming.
Crap. I'm glad everyone else is going through this too. I've had real trouble with my last three. I was averaging 167s, but on 69-72 I've been hitting 161-4. Really stressful.
Is the Army a professional environment? In my 8 years serving I dropped a lot of f-bombs...just saying. Don't be a prude dude.
Haha. Romney, LOLz!! I fucking love the fact that JY and Jonathan are real people.
Jonathan explained it like this to me...picture a pothole. You have to fill the pothole with your argument. For NA all you need to fill is a tiny little part of the pothole, but that part is necessary for the rest to be filled in. For SA you have the fill the whole pothole. It doesn't matter if you overfill.
I didn't get the answers. But I did put my test results into the analytics. It doesn't tell you what the score is, but it does tell you the type and the correct answer so you can work your way backwards.
Haha. I'm with you too. Jazz, African American literature, Art and science are all subjects that I would never read on my own, but the RC sections actually kind of make you appreciate these complex topics.
I decided to buy the 10 Actual book and I really appreciated taking the newer tests. The logic games are pretty manageable, but the reading comp is a real bruiser. I would at least recommend getting PT 72. 7Sage offered it for $6.00 for a bit, but I would say it is worth getting that one at least. It has a weird logic game. Someone else mentioned that 71 had another odd logic game. I have 70 and 71 left to take before test day.
The difference is in the title. Must be true questions rely heavily on formal logic and the answer choice must be true. MSS questions do not have to be true, but they must be strongly supported.
At least, that's my understanding of it.
Don't forget that if you manage time well you can have enough time for this type of question. For example, if you have a few quick ones, then the little bit of extra time you need for these types of questions isn't a big deal. Scan quickly, find it, and get the right answer.
You can just take the first in your book or, as a commenter suggested above, take the Jun 07 test offered for free here on 7Sage. That's what I would do. Are you testing in September? Make sure you use the test analytics to score your tests. Just click on Resources --> Analytics --> then pick the test you are doing and click the bubbles like you normally would.
I was PTing at 165, but know that my question stem ID was weak, and I did not hit -0 in logic games. I actually did pretty poorly in the Logic Games on my LSAT which was September's exam.
