I missed the first part of the webinar. Is there a link to rewatch anywhere?
PT20 S1 Q24
I got this question wrong (didn't realize net would carry over) but here's a quick equation that helped me figure it out.
N = 1990 coal mined — 1990 coal consumed
X = 1991 coal mined
Y = 1991 coal consumed
So:
N > N + X — Y
= Y > X
Therefore, more coal was consumed in 1991 than mined in 1991.

oh nice! is it for the local paper or a big media company like NBC?
It's a big metro newspaper, where I cover politics.
And thanks all for the advice! This is very helpful.
@ thank you! And I'm a newspaper reporter. So the hypothetical website would be past articles and writings and such.
All the advice I've read on asking for LORs is that it must be done in person. In my case, I graduated college 3 years ago and am unable to find out what the office hours are of the professor I'm hoping will write one of my LORs. Also, I feel like jogging her memory of me with an emailed note first would be to my advantage, since it's been 4 years since I took her class. Would it be so horrible to make an initial LOR request over email while also asking for her office hours this semester (or another time she's available), then coming in in person and giving her additional information, etc.? #help
Hey there -- anyone out there want to read over a Why Berkeley essay? Happy to edit your PS/DS/Why X/whatever!
Thanks, everyone! Still need to go through parts of the admission course. Sorry for the redundancy.
Hey there! So many questions now that I've started digging through apps...
Do people typically list hours/week on resumes?
When apps say "list all educational institutions attended," does that include high school?
Does a speeding ticket from 5 years ago count as a C&F issue? I know Emory says explicitly it does and should be disclosed. Should I be safe and disclose for other schools too?
Is there a good piece of advice anywhere on whether to do a GPA addendum? I'm leaning against doing so, because I don't have a great reason. (It'd be something like: I was very involved in a time-consuming extracurricular/didn't think I was going to school beyond undergrad/it's been 3 years since I've graduated and I've grown, yada yada...) AKA, I think it'd sound whiny and excuse-ridden.
And lastly, an unimportant technical question: on some schools' apps, LSAC auto-fills in a *****XXXX for my SSN. Should I re-type my SSN in full in the box below that?
THANK YOU
I'm going too! The RSVP email I got said every participating school will be giving fee waivers to attendees. It'll be my first law fair, so I don't know the answers to your other Qs. (I'd go with biz casual, though.)
@ thank you! I'm applying all over the place and there are a lot of schools outside the T-20 that I'd be happy at. We shall see! Appreciate all the comments and perspective.
Following this since I'm also headed to my first fair next weekend (in SF) and want the same advice!
I'm curious what people have found to be the most helpful questions to ask school reps or general points of conversation? And is it appropriate and expected to follow up with reps over email if you have an engaging discussion?
(As for what to wear, I'm going with biz casual -- I think that'll be pretty typical.)

@ I'm not sure what your comment is specifically referring to. OP was merely asking what his chances at T14 were - not job prospects or paying full sticker.
And yes, the first line of OP states that his LSAC gpa is a 3.2. With a 172, I'd think he'd be relatively competitive for Georgetown.
her/she* :P
I thought about this so much before I took the test! Just be sure that whatever you're eating is something your body is used to -- don't try a brand new regimen the day of.
I think I had yogurt + muesli + fruit + coffee for breakfast soon after I woke up, then a granola bar like an hour before the test. And for the break I had peanut butter stuffed pretzels and chocolate-covered espresso beans. But my test administration was at 12:30 p.m.
If you live near a Trader Joe's, I highly recommend getting good snackage from them.
This is probably backed by little science, but I ate a lot of walnuts + blueberries + broccoli leading up to the test because I'd read they were good "brain foods" haha. And stay away from turkey, since it supposedly makes you sleepy.
Thanks, all! I'm definitely applying outside the T-14 as well.
Apologies in advance for this horrible question. But while signing up for an LSAC account, if you're a non-URM, should you still check whatever caucasian/white boxes you fit and "yes - report my information" to law schools? Or check the caucasian/white boxes and "no - DO NOT report my information" to law schools? Or is it best to just check the decline to respond box altogether? Ack.
Ok, thank you!
For the apps with — "List your extracurricular, community or other activities in the order of their importance to you. Give a brief description of your involvement, including any special responsibilities or leadership positions held" — do most people get specific with dates (e.g. 5/2014 - 12/2014), just year (2014), or term (e.g. summer - fall 2014)? I'm 3 years out of school, so I wonder if it looks silly to get super specific with dates from college.

Sorry, which template?

@ do you mind sharing what you said in your email to schools? Congrats on the success rate!
Thank you all so much for the input! The email first/stopping by OHs later ended up working out well.
@ Will there be a way to ask a question if we call in from a cellphone? Thank you!
@ @ do the Casios tic loudly?
