Self-study
I can't parse out or understand the assumption being made in this question below:
Paleontologist: It is widely, but falsely, held that life began in the ocean and did not exist on land until half a billion years ago.
The answer is D but I do not understand why
Admin Note: Deleted the question and answer choices because it is against our Forum Rules to post the entire question and answer choices on the forum.
J: Is saying that University's goals are different from community colleges, meaning that they a Uni's goal is NOT educational.
M: Is saying that a Uni's goal is to serve the community's NEEDS. It doesn't specify what needs exactly but just broadly states any needs in that community.
How is A the correct answer? J clearly disagrees with answer choice A, but M says NOTHING about educational needs, am I supposed to assume that serving a community's needs is equivalent to educational needs? That is a far leap in my mind when the term 'needs' is so broad. This is a bad bad bad LSAT question, please make it make sense
