Hi! Also graduated in 2015. Graduated from forestry grad school in 2017. Now looking to do environmental law after spending 4 seasons in Denali Park Alaska! Hey @ !
They email you about two weeks before the test to schedule a time. You can do the writing anytime during the week before. You don't have to choose a weekend slot but they have plenty of slots available. When I signed up they had basically a slot every five minutes with a proctor.
You can use up to 5 pieces of scrap paper I believe. Whatever kind of paper is fine, lined or graph or solid white but they do make you show it to the proctor and they make you rip it up on camera after the test is over.
Hope that helps!
@ And No, you don't have to download anything ahead of time, from what I remember. They walk you through it on the day of.
@. Lorde From what I understand you aren't allowed to talk at all during the test in case there were like a person in the room with you that they couldn't see or something
My last practice tests were 167/164 and I got a 160. Also not super thrilled but may take again and apply next year as well
I found it helpful because I was getting about -15, -14 on RC that someone told me that if you really focus and work through three of the passages, even if you don't have enough time and guess on the last passage, you will do better than rushing through. When I was rushing I was getting some wrong on each passage because I wasn't reading well enough. Now when I take extra time, even time that I don't have to thoroughly read each passage, re-reading sentences that I didn't comprehend the first time, I haven't had time for a fourth passage. I put all one answer for the fourth passage, go back and do detail questions instead of main point or structure, and I usually end up with around -7 instead.
Oh and it took about 2 hours from start to finish between the set up with the proctor and the test. The set up is basically you showing the proctor your clean sheets of paper, your testing space, your desk, etc. And then after the test is done you have to show them that you're shredding your scrap sheets so that takes another few minutes. They really walked me through all of it though.
Hello! I took the Flex in February. It was pretty uncomplicated but I didn't have any issues with ProctorU. I have heard of others who had issues. In my experience, the computer didn't lag. Basically the proctor has access to your camera and screen so they can see you taking the test but you don't see or hear them most of the time. My proctor came on the speaker of my computer once to tell me I was mouthing the words while doing reading comp which I wasn't allowed. I didn't even realize I was lol. Honestly it was pretty easy after the test got going to just zone in and not even realize the proctor was there.
Hello! I would love to have study partners too! I got a 169 on my last PT and a 170 on the one before (which was my best). I'm not consistently great at RC but consistently improving (from -14 av to -5 to -3). My weakest section is LR.
I would love to join as well! I was going to only take in august but signed up for june as I recently broke into 170. My goal was 169 on the test but now looking higher!
