I agree. There's lots of public support for things that don't benefit the public. Ha ha

@

THIS IS AN AWESOME STORY!

One question: how did you deal with the test anxiety?

David,

God bless you, seriously. This is a great explanation with a nice analogy kicker. I'm still stuck on this. The public can support something without knowing how it can help them. That to me is different than saying that the program is justified when the public supports them. Where do we link public support and justification?

AJ,

I feel you. Studying for the test is hard. Studying for the test when your life conditions suck is worse. It's also worse when you don't see progress. I think it's good that you leave the house. I might also suggest you go to Al-Anon. It's a program for people who have family members who have an addiction issues.

Hola 7Sagers,

I'm super struggling with this question simply because I feel like the answer makes a big jump. It almost seem like its a sufficient assumption question. I just don't see where the stimulus indicates where the public support in question indicates there was not any indication of public benefit.

Can anyone help?

Thank you!

I think this is a very lonely test and what I find that helps is going outside. Taking a walk. Meditating. Eating right. Communicating with people.

You are not alone. This test is Tough Mudder for the mind.

Well, my legal experience is in CA worker's comp. In CA, you practice law without going to law school if you study under an attorney for a number of years. RN, my job would earn about $50,000 without school. I know a second year attorney making $110,000. He didn't go to a top 14 school. He had no legal experience. He's just good with schmoozing and works hard. He also took a job in a crummy city in California. His buddies who wanted to stay in LA are making $50-60 ish.

I'm in a similar boat.

For confidence, I celebrate every morsel of progress. Every morsel I treat it like I just won a gold metal.

Trusting your game board

Hey everyone,

Any tips on reviewing game boards? I'm finding I'm either missing a rule, or overthinking the game board (i.e. thinking of all of the options and/or missing an option.)

A note of thanks.

I'd like take a minute before I start a PT to thank the 7sage community. Every time I need help or encouragement I either find a nugget of wisdom in past discussions or find a tremendous amount of help when I ask a direct question. You guys rock. Thank you!

Neither is easier, really. I might be okay during the logic games, but the essay might be a push.

Disabilities

Hi everyone,

Has anyone had any experience with accommodations? I have a hand injury that makes it tough to write right now. It's on the mend, but I'm not sure what it will be like when I plan on the Sept 2018. I'd like to see if anyone has had to take accommodations out and what their experience was like.

Rock on!

Hi everyone,

I just started the logic games curriculum and I'm so confused. I under stand the basic principles of diagramming and the rules, but I look at the questions and I just don't know what the first step it, or any step is. Any help would be great!

Thanks!

@ I agree with you. Also, I think his is probably just a way for law schools to make a little more $$$ in app fees. IMHO, when anything huge like this changes, it's always good to ask "who's gonna make the most money out of this?"

If it is as easy as people say it is, they'll probably just make the GRE harder.

I called UCLA and Loyola. They both said do the best you can with date ranges. That's going to be my strategy is to ask every school what they want and then put an addendum. I'm just going to try to call each employer, if they still exist, in good measure.

Now to figure out when I got that ticket in Utah for having a pack of cigarrettes...

Resume for old people

Hey everyone,

I'm an older student with lots of job experience. For the law school resumes, do they have to be extensive? Would UCLA care that I worked at Ticketmaster in the 90's?

GPA Addendums: Let's make this fun.

Hi Fellow 7-Sagers,

I'm a non-trad student who took a very relaxed view on my first couple of years of college . Little did I know, I would be studying for the LSAT almost 20 years later. But, I'm sure there are some of you didn't really do well your first year or so of college. So, for fun I'm starting a thread of alternate explanations of why some grades, as I like to say, are "uncomfortable." Here's a few to start. Please add more.

  • It was the Clinton presidency. We were knee deep in AOL CD's and hope.
  • All of my classes were 8:00 am classes. Just six 8:00 am classes. We live in a quantum universe. Time is flat circle.
  • FERRETS
  • I kept getting held hostage by a hackysack circle.
  • Beer and chics, bro, beer and chicks.
  • My professor sucked.
  • I sucked.
  • I was paid to keep the curve low (gotta pay for Birkenstocks somehow!)
  • Please add.

    Last minute cancel?

    Hi everyone,

I'm scheduled to take Saturday's LSAT. My score is 150 despite my best attempts. Half of me wants to just take it just not to give up and use it as "practice." What do you think? I'm trying to see the benefit in taking other than the experience. I hate to cancel because it feels like I'm giving up, but I know I'm not ready.

Doth tell me 7Sagers, do I Mad Max this mofo?

    Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some advice. I'm a non-traditional student who has wide variety of life experience. I'm having a tough time narrowing down a personal statement category. Here's the run down:

    I'm 39

Graduated with my undergrad when I was 35. I bounced around different schools one was an upward transfer; the others were to satisfy vocational courses. I was able to finish my degree from the University of Colorado online when I was 35 while living in LA.

I moved to LA because I was (to some degree) still a stand up comic. Now I feel compelled to go to law school. I don't really want to draw attention to stand up, cause I probably said something stupid online at some point and I don't want that to hinder me. I've cleaned up social media pretty much, but still.

I'm an expert witness. I've testified several times in CA Worker's Comp courts regarding the value liens. I help attorneys and sometimes appear as a hearing rep in helping litigate work comp medical liens.

My dad was a felon. I don't want to play that card, but I do understand that hardships can be "inspiring."

I really feel like I have to explain why my transcripts are so incredibly ADD. My GPA is pretty good minus the first year and a half after high school. If I calculate it right, it should be a 3.7 and a graduated with honors. Should I do this as an addendum?
