Your scenario literally sounds exactly like where I am at right now, except for sitting for the Sept test, (I was originally supposed to take this test but missed the registration deadline) Nov was my first administration. LG is also my strongest section and by far where I rely on my points... with LR being one of my sections I am waiting/hoping to see improvements for the Jan test. The only thing I have seen that helps me improve on LR so far is to take a few timed LR sections in between full PTs and then BR those to get an idea of the questions types that are giving me the most trouble. Along with the timed sections results, my PT results also give me a solid glimpse at the types I need more work on. Then, from there I might go review the CC for that type or do a page or two of that question type from my powerscore workbook, just to really practice what I just reviewed from CC.

I really like this way of reviewing and have seen quite an improvement in my understanding of NA and Flaw questions just in time for the Nov administration, and hoping will be successful in understanding a few more before the Jan test. Now about RC you are in the exact same spot as I, I didn't go through the CC thoroughly because I assumed that where I was at, scoring wise, would never improve since I had heard that its the most difficult to raise. However, I started actually doing timed passages (one at a time) and then reviewing those to see where I have the most problems when approaching the passages, how many passages I can actually complete accurately, my reading/note-taking that helps most, etc. So, my advice on RC is to not completely look over it, I like to think that if I can improve my RC by only 5 points that it will definitely be there to help me wherever I may have a slip up on my LR/LG.

thanks so much for the wise words @ - I am planning on going over my weak spots next time I study, and then the next day taking another PT... I feel as if I partially grasp the ones I am having trouble with (since I get like half correct/half incorrect on PTs) so hopefully this will give me the extra little boost of knowledge needed.

Looking for Advice in LR and RC

hi all, I am taking the November test coming up in a few weeks (cry) and was looking for a little advice. I have been taking PT's and now I see that I need to review some LR question types. Should I try and review the CC for those few types while I am still taking my PT's? Or don't take another PT until I have reviewed at little? I am doing great in LG and not so hot in RC, so I feel like if I get some of the troublesome LR types down then I will feel much better.

Also RC sucks big time, and trying to figure out a good strategy for myself - advice on this topic also greatly appreciated. On my last two PT's I have strived to only complete 3 passages and try to get as many correct as possible, but still don't know if that is the most effective/beneficial for me...

@ thank you so much for your honest opinion! yeah im thinking i might wait a little further into CC, if not all the way completed, before i start looking at PTs again! today was my first day with my course & already enjoy the learning methods & instructional videos so much! can already feel things digesting & coming a bit easier. good to know that i could possible be done with CC as early as end of september - with my strict 2-3 day a week regimen i hope it doesn’t take me much longer that that!

BR during CC

hi all, so i have recently switched over from studying with the full powerscore trilogy books to ONLY studying with the 7sage pack. i started studying with powerscore the middle of may 2018 and when decided to make the switch was already taking 1-2 PT every week (without blind review bc they do not use that method). i am now wondering if it would be beneficial for me to possibly still try and take at least one PT per week along with my 7sage core curriculum (this time around using blind review) - since this is technically not completely new information for me.

i am currently following along with my personalized study guide for the november 2018 test & see that it saves all of the PT for the end of CC, but due to my circumstances would like to get some advice on what could work best for me.

any advice is graciously welcomed :)

Hi there,

Do you feel comfortable so far with the sections? Have you drilled them and figured out your weak areas ? How is your diagnostic? Just like you, I started with PS bibles and for me it didn't do much so I started over with seven sage. It took me a while to finish the seven sage core curriculum. I am asking this because I don't know your learning style or how much time it takes you to grasp concepts related to the LSAT but the seven sage core curriculum takes a long time to finish if you want to do well. I am not sure if 3 months is enough time to fully benefit from the program. I think you would benefit a lot if you took your time with the fundamentals, drill LR with blind review, fool proof LG PT 1-35 and take practice tests with blind review. If you have a great grasp of the sections then three months is enough.

Good luck, you got this!!

hello & thank you so much for your help! glad to see that I am not the only one to find PS not as awesome as had hoped... but I have had time to drill all of the LR types I have learned from PS so far & realized some of my strengths/weaknesses. I have been able to improve my score 7 points from my diagnostic just from the PS studying that I have completed thus far & looking to improve 5ish more points (obviously more if possible). I intend to take what I know I am not that strong at & focus on those sections when starting new 7sage CC, as well as starting from the beginning and only skipping through sections that I believe I have a strong grasp on. I hope that my plan doesn’t sound completely ridiculous... just at this point I know that I do not want to stick with PS but also don’t want to kick myself with switching over to whole new curriculum with only 3 months to test. I am open to retaking in january 2019 - thought I would like to try as hard as possible not to have to do that.

The starter pack is definitely sufficient enough to help. The curriculum is the same throughout all packages, the only difference is the amount of access you get to problem sets and explanations of PTs. JY basically provides detailed explanations for each question in PT history starting from PT17 (he does do RC and LG starting from PT1 but I believe LR only starts in PT17). The core curriculum is thorough and usually takes people a few months to get through and that doesn't include time spent going back into the curriculum once they start PT-ing. Depending on where you are scoring on your PT and your goal score (and section break-down) will determine the strategy for you for november. Since you are switching over, you will probably be tempted to skip through lessons where you feel comfortable...I'd recommend against it because everything in the curriculum builds up on one another. At the very least, don't skip the grammar and early argument forms in the curriculum because it's something a lot of people feel they don't need to brush up on but they are tremendously helpful.

thank you so so much for your honest advice. I was originally thinking of starting 7sage CC from beginning and only skipping over something if I feel I have an adequate grasp on it, if not then completing the full lesson on that topic. I feel a majority of what I have learned from PS so far ha stuck with me & would co wider it learned. from what I have done in PS I was able to improve my score 7 points from diagnostic & can definitely see myself improving more with hard work & dedication before the november test. I have 3 full days set aside a week dedicated strictly to lsat study... with all that being said I hope my plan doesn’t sound completely absurd & impossible ?

studying strategy from Nov test to Jan test

hi all!

first off congrats on all those who sat for the Nov test and completed it in one piece! I feel somewhat accomplished in doing that alone, it being my first official administration. But I am also trying to be somewhat realistic with myself, knowing that I am almost 100% sure that I want to sit for the Jan test and take a shot at getting a higher score!

I had been studying since June before taking the Nov test, so obviously completed all 7sage CC and taken PTs 40-50, so now what?

trying to take into consideration my known weaknesses that I feel in myself, and use those to try and construct a new study plan, I wanted to reach out and see if anyone else in the same/similar situation as myself, have any advice. mainly what you have done in the past or what you will be doing until the Jan test? I'm thinking of more timed sections instead of full PTs to start out & focus more on getting a few extra points from RC (since personally I did not spend much time at all learning RC strategies to begin with), along with getting a constant LR section that I am confident with. what about you?

thanks so much in advance for taking the time to help a girl out :)

hi all! I have been self studying using the entire powerscore bibles since middle of may & originally planning on taking september test. started feeling unprepared & decided to hold off until november test and put my studying efforts toward something else. had recently used some of the 7sage LG explanation videos & found those very helpful, would like to try switching all of my study time over to 7sage. since i have been studying with powerscore for a solid 3 months and almost halfway through all 3 section’s bibles, was wondering if the 7sage starter pack would be sufficient enough for now? looking for any advice/switchover study tips! thanks a lot!

@ what do you think most helped you accomplish your jump from your september test to the november administration? I am retaking in january and hope to see a a few point jump like you, I’m going to pick up studying again this coming week & start in my weakest areas from my november test.

does anyone know if there be a Pacaque Predictor for the January LSAT by chance? Mostly just see what they predict the curve will be & what not.

Confirm action

Are you sure?
