Acceptance

This may be random but surely someone on here knows this answer... I can't find it anywhere on Google.

I just want to know simply how I will be notified of acceptance (or not). Will it be visible on LSAC? If so, where? Should I expect and email or a letter in the mail or both? I just want to know where to look because I am becoming very impatient haha! Thanks for any answers or advice!

Also, if it matters the school I applied to is SMU, and I did the early application thing ...idk if each school does it differently or what

What to do in the meantime....

I took the June 2015 LSAT and I feel like I did good enough to get into the school that I want to get into (but I suppose we shall see within about a week!). What should I be doing until I can officially fill out the application in I believe September? In otherwords, what are some productive things that I will need to have to turn in with my application that I could go ahead and get started on? Thanks!

Reading Comprehension Retention Help!!

I'm normally making in the low 160s when I prep-test, which isn't too bad - it is good enough to get in to the school I want to go to, but I generally miss half of my questions solely in reading comprehension. I normally miss 10-12 in RC, and then 3-4 in each of the other sections. I'm just not retaining any of what I have read. I can do it no big deal when I BR because I don't have the pressure of time...but when I do have the timer I seem to be always picking the most common wrong answers. Does any body have any tips for what I could do to improve retention/understanding of what to pay specific attention to while reading?? I take the LSAT in June! Thanks!!

course work or prep tests?

I plan on taking the June LSAT and seem to be running out of time. I took 21 hours during this semester at school and it has been kickin my butt! That being said I didn't have anywhere near as much time to study for the LSAT as I had planned. I still have about 30 hours of "course work" left but with the end of the semester coming up I don't know how much extra time I'm going to have. I've taken a couple of PT's randomly and I'm scoring about a 155 - which is no where where I would like to be. I was wondering if it would be more beneficial if I used my spare time taking and blind reviewing tests, or if I should finish and review the coursework and then do some tests? Please help. My goal is around 163-165. Thanks!!

Dallas Area - A&M Commerce - Past Test Takers?

This might be a weird question, but I was just wondering if anybody has taken the LSAT at the Texas A&M Commerce location. I am real big on environment so I was wondering if anybody could tell me if it is somewhat loud, if we are sitting in super close proximity with other people, if it was cold, etc. I would like to try to simulate my prep-test environments to what it will be like on the day of - I get distracted very easily with noise, closeness to people, and cold temperatures so I wanted to try to train myself to be ready. Sorry if this is weird!

I would like to do criminal law and eventually work up to the point where I can solely represent women who are being charged with solicitation of prostitution. I took a human trafficking class during my undergrad and it got me really interested on the subject matter (note: I realize not all prostituted women have been trafficked). These women are extremely vulnerable and totally stigmatized by society. As cheesy and cliche as it may sound, I would like to fight for them as I believe in many situations where they are being charged as criminals they are actually the victim. What do you guys think about this? Is it a realistic goal? Also are there any big law firms that do similar things?

Applications

This doesn't have specifically to do with the LSAT, but I am sure that somebody on here knows the answers. I plan on beginning law school next fall (2016), which means that my early decision application (for SMU) is due this November 1, however they only have their Fall 2015 application open - even though the deadlines to turn it in has passed. I was just wondering if anybody knew generally when applications are posted? Thank!

Hey you never know! I remember one time while PTing I was running out of time for a game (and we all know that that happened today) so I just used quick judgment and basically guessed on all the questions and literally did not miss a single one - out of the 7 for that game?! I'm banking on that happening again today....hopefully it will for you too..

So when do we ACTUALLY get our scores back?

On my LSAC account it says July 7, 2015 but I consistently keep hearing it take 3 weeks... but I'm wondering, from the people who have already taken it... does it possibly come back even earlier than that? And will it come in an email or do we need to be continually checking our LSAC account?

Tips for improving speed?

I'm not doing too bad on the PTs, not quite where I would love to be but I am definitely seeing improvement in my blind review scores. The problem is I consistently have about 5 problems leftover each section as the time runs out. I am becoming more accurate but not any faster. I was wondering if anyone had any tips or ideas on how to be quicker? Thanks!

Is this a stupid idea?

I got 7Sage for Christmas and began studying immediately after. My plan is to study for 6 months and then be as prepared as possible for the June LSAT and just in case I don't do as well as desired I still have the option for the October test. I was wondering if it is just a completely stupid idea to go and sit for the February LSAT even though I won't remotely be prepared enough - just to kind of get a feel for the environment so that I would be surprised by anything on the actual day of. The school I want to get in to only takes the top score so I wouldn't think that this could hurt me in any way, but I may be wrong. I was just wondering if anybody had any additional thoughts on this idea? Why it be good or bad? Thanks! - Mack

How often should we be taking prep-tests?

I'm planning on sitting in June 2015 and I just began studying Dec 26, 2014. My raw score for the very first prep test that we were told to do was a 149 - so not too bad but definitely need to improve. I was just wondering how often I should be doing the practice tests. I'm in school full time and I work full time so I don't exactly have the 4 hours a day to study like this calls for, but I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on the best way to optimize my time??

Thanks!

How to improve RC in 4 days...?

In the rest of my sections I'm doing great, I only miss like 3-4, but without fail for RC I generally miss about 10!! I know if I could master this my score would shoot up....I neglected doing all of the stuff in the course outline because I was lazy and for whatever reason told myself, "eh it's just reading comprehension...I know how to read." I was very wrong and now I don't think I have enough time to go all the way back through it. I was wondering if anybody had an advice on how to get at least a couple extra right - even if it means I'm still missing 7 or so. Please help! I am taking the test Monday so any and all advice would be awesome opossum. Thanks :)

Hopefully this isn't a stupid question... On getting a photo printed, I'm assuming y'all are talking about the additional identification photo? If so, does it have to be professionally printed? If so, how is that done? I thought we could just take a picture of ourselves and then print it out of a regular printer. Is that not okay?

Are you sure?
