Quick Silver - a method that works well for me is to answer all the questions on a two page spread, and before turning the page, fill in the answers for all of them. I look at the q number, look at the circled answer, look at the number on the scantron, then bubble the appropriate answer. Repeat. if you practice this you get faster and it gets easier.

On a side not, I definitely had circles and check marks in the space between columns on yesterdays test. I was too hyped up on section 5 to erase them at the end. Then when I realized they were there, I didn't want proctor thinking I was still working. I asked her if I could erase, a loud "NO." was the response.

Anyone have any input on the consequences of marks outside the answer columns?

From personal experience (I've taken LSAT twice) I would strongly recommend no alcohol within a week of the test. I had a few drinks this weekend leading up to December and I feel fine, but now I plan on having none until Dec. 6. Everyone is different, but I think a week is the minimum

Wow well done!

I also chose B, another reason it is wrong is that is never ONCE mentions what Shayna believes. The exception is "except possibly where one [Shayna] believes that the person with whom one is speaking [Daniel] etc..." B talks about Daniel's belief, not Shayna's.

I went back and forth between A and E. I absolutely see how E is right, but I'm not so clear on what makes A wrong. I chose A because the "other objectionable view" was that the degree of "planimetricity" mattered. The conclusion that they had "greater artistic mastery" could still be right without this, but the arguer is saying "well, I object to this premise, so the conclusion is wrong." Can anyone help me out with how A is wrong?

Answer A "presumes that the campaign was actually launched" according to JY in the video. But in the QStem, isn't the statement "Thus, the advertising campaign was ill-conceived" telling us that it was launched?

I went back after doing all of the section with my remaining time and I was stuck with A and B. I ultimately chose A and not B because macroeconomic factors and "advertising campaign was ill-conceived" can still go together. Maybe the new product would not have done especially poorly had they skipped the campaign. Maybe it was a super misogynist advertisement for women's shoes, and thus it was "unpopular with customers and ineffective in promoting" etc.

What I'm saying is that with B, the argument can still stand with the occurrence of an economic downturn.

But it CAN'T stand with A. Doesn't A totally wreck it? That argument and A can't coexist.

I almost always go "Oh now I get it" after these vids but for this one I'm still not seeing how A is wrong.

I took in September and one month beforehand set several guidelines for myself, which seemed to help. Maybe you will find them helpful:

1. No screens starting at 9:30pm. If you can help it, no bright lighting either. I can't fall asleep easily in the dark and quiet, so I listen to this podcast called "sleep with me." It has stories that get progressively less interesting over time... I am always knocked out 20 minutes in.

2. No coffee after 1pm (everyone is different, but coffee in the afternoon/evening makes going to bed early much harder for me)

3. If you have a restless night's sleep, this is a good way to reset yourself. do NOT nap, no matter what. It will be terrible. But at night you will crash early and likely stay asleep all night.

4. Always wake up at the same time, weekends included. For me, this meant no social life on weekends in the month of September. I didn't drink alcohol either. I was up at 6:30 every morning, ate the same thing, drank the same cup of coffee, and LSAT'ed either before work or did a whole PT if it was the weekend.

@dkimnovi398 is right, discipline is everything. Imagine the leisurely possibilities you can treat yourself to when it's all over!

@eddygomar189 I've added you.

@eddygomar189 sorry to hear that (jk). But judging by your username it sounds like it won't ever stop you from getting to Manhattan. Are you interested in weekend practice tests?

I'm sorry but the rotating bezel was the WORST. I got the standard casio watch and it threw me off so bad. Maybe I just should have practiced with it more but I did a few PT's with it, and the thing is during the actual test it didn't work for me.

I took the test the first time with my boyfriends bulova watch (no bezel), and didn't reset it or anything (just added it up in my head), and I had an easier time with it than the bezel. I don't know why.

I'd say yes.

Something similar happened to me- I'm shooting for t14, scored a 167 and missed a bubble costing me 2 points. I've been PTing higher and definitely retaking in December.

A 167 is the median for Berkeley, so if you want T14 I'd say retake.

I've taken the LSAT twice: December 2013 and September 2014 (cancelled). Both were taken at the same test center by my grandparents (I live in NYC but usually I go up and visit them and it's easier/less hectic of a commute on test day). The first time, I did fine. In September, I totally lost it. The chairs were making terrible noises, and one of the proctors was clearly ill with bronchitis and was coughing and also talking to a proctor-in-training during the test. I should have been able to block these things out the second time and I didn't.

So for test 3, the question is, to I take at the same place? I can't tell if I'd be better off in a new place, or return to the same place. The upside is I would know the territory, and anticipate possible distractions. But part of me thinks I should try another center to get away from my September debacle. Anyone faced this issue before? Would love thoughts on this. Thanks guys!

This happened to me on the day of the test, after the 3rd section. After I had scored in the 170's on my last PT. I'm retaking and trying to resolve what caused it.

If I could give you any advice, I would suggest what I've done so far, which is spend some time meditating, exercising (I personally like yoga/running), breaks like Kelsey said, but also thinking about why you decided to take this test and go to law school. Try to summon that determination that got you started on the LSAT in the first place.

It's not a waste of time. I took in December 2013 and scored well. I'm re-taking to score higher (I cancelled Sept., re-taking Dec 14). I restarted 7Sage completely to prepare for September and my second PT was a record by 3 points. Taking time to re-learn the material ensures you haven't missed anything; I consistently scored 4-6 points higher during my second round of studying. Take the time to do it.

The New NYC LSAT A-Team Study Group - December 2014

Looking to form a group of serious LSATers in NYC. Please post your email info if you're interested in group PTs on weekends in preparation for the December (or Feb) LSAT. Also please feel free to suggest locations. In a previous post we were discussing room reservations at NYPL; there are also open public spaces in midtown. Looking forward to destroying the LSAT together!

EDIT: Email not needed. Just realized that we can have group conversations on this site. So just post that you're interested and I will add you to the conversation.
