I know translation/CLIR drills might seem like a waste of time, but even dedicating a solid week or two to just translating and CLIRing could help you a ton on LR. The biggest path to improvement for me was learning how to read simuli and actually understand them--most of the questions I was getting wrong before that were due to not having a good understanding of what the stimulus was saying. The translation drills helped so much for me, then moving on to CLIRing without reading ACs.

@ im taking june and can't wait to travel..... major inspo for visiting AK! thanks for the plug will definitely consider!!!!

Hiiiiiiii ~~

I just took feb yesterday and don't feel super great about it. I have been PTing around 168-172 but am not confident in how I did yesterday. Usually LG is my strongest and I bank on -0 in this section, but I was rocked by a tough game (and also wasn't even loving how I felt about the other 3??). LR is also usually a solid -4 for me but I really don't feel well about yesterday's LR. There were a few questions that I couldn't quite pre-phrase ( ugh AND i even changed a couple of answers last minute which I neverrrrr do 🤢🥴). and of course, RC, sweet RC, the only consistency in my LSAT journey has been that no matter what, RC will always be a surprise for me. Yesterday was no exception. I had just recently gotten really scientific about mastering RC in the same way I had been with the other sections, but going into the test I knew that section had the most room for growth. Post-exam, I am feeling like my mechanics are good but that I was a little nervous and could've had better instincts overall, but especially in LR.

Seeking tips from people who have retaken the exam before. How did you reuse materials? How much time did you give yourself before taking the exam again (1 month? 3 months?)? Any other things you wished you had known going through the retake process/studying after your first LSAT?

I have been studying since May 2020, used a really great tutor but ultimately stopped once I got into the high 160s because it was really expensive, but really helpful. Used & loved Ellen's loophole + 7sage for videos, analytics, and occasional fundamentals refreshers. Goal score is 170+..... Seeking all the recs, tips, and advice. Thank you :)

I was only able to figure this out with a little diagram-----

The argument states that when the farmers switched to chemical ferts, they stopped using GM.

CF --> ~GM

This abandoned practice (~GM) caused bad soil structure:

CF --> GM --> SS

the argument then concludes improved soil structure requires no more chemical ferts:

SS --> ~CF

If we run the contrapositive of the premises, we get some more must be trues out of the argument:

SS --> GM --> ~CF

If we have good soil structure, then we must have green manure. If we have green manure, then we can't have chemical ferts.

Answer choice E captures this MBT -- in order for this argument to be true, it must be that if farmers are growing GM, they can't also use chemical fertilizers.

However, if after 7 months of studying and you are still getting 150, you might want to reconsider your career choice.

Horrible advice. Everyone struggles with this test. Going from 127 to 150 is amazing improvement. Don't compare your timeline to that of others; I know people who studied for longer an a year and a half to achieve their goals. Be realistic and patient with yourself (mindfulness meditation is actually really good for this and I bet there are meditation exercises out there specifically for people who have ADHD). Continue to experiment and find what works for you. Absolutely seek accommodations.

literally did a search for "PT59" to see if anyone out there felt the pain from the LR on this test. Just went through it and did significantly worse than usual.

definitely possible but you will need to give yourself a lot of time to make progress, esp if your job if demanding, and esp if you have a high goal score. i work full time and realistically am only able to study about 2 hours a day, sometimes less, which has extended my LSAT timeline by a lot. you also need time for days when work has just burnt you out & you need the day off (if you have this kind of job), and time for when you're burnt out from studying and need a couple of days. I moved back home (b/c of the test & the panny) where I have no friends/social life, so not feeling tempted by any social stuff has actually been super helpful for saving time/energy.

I think leaving work to study full time is a personal decision. In addition to having the free time, you have the mental space to focus solely on the test, whereas balancing work requires balancing stress/demands from your job. I couldn't stomach pulling back from work completely, but if I had the option to reduce my hours I would absolutely have taken that route.

#help question 25: can anyone help me understand why the last sentence of the first paragraph is not support for AC B? am I confusing an understanding of judicial activism with moral interpretation?

seconding doing group BRs. My study partner and I have also taken a fresh LR section and talked through each question and AC (untimed) and kind of take the section together, eliminating ACs and deciding which one we think is correct (with good debate throughout). This helps me see in real time how someone else would process a question, what they pick up in the stimulus that I may have skimmed over, etc. This exercise also helps solidify my own understanding of concepts because I get to explain my process and reasoning in an interactive way.

URM = underrepresented minority. Not sure if international students at large are considered a minority, but even still I imagine white international students are viewed differently in way from black & latinx students in the same way that American white students are viewed differently from black and latinx students

That said, I am sure you have an outlook on law that is different from an American applicant, so even if you are white, you would still add a diverse & therefore valuable viewpoint to your class as someone who is not from the US.
