This is SO common. I think it depends on the tests you've been taking cos I know certain tests people tend to score a lot higher than usual

Reading Comp Tips and Tricks

Hi everyone,

My reading comp score has been the same for a while now. It won't go up or down it just stays the same. Can someone recommend some helpful tips on how to be more successful with reading comp? Perhaps there are certain strategies I can implement from the reasoning section in order to help me eliminate wrong answers in reading comp? Please advise! Thank you as always for all your help!

@ how do I even submit the application without my LSAT score? cos they require me to type in some kind of number

Hey everyone,

I'v read here that some people send in their applications in order to meet the deadline, but before receiving their LSAT score. Is this possible? Will it hurt my chances in getting in? How do I make sure that they know not to make a decision before they receive my score? Will I even be able to submit the application without the score?

Pleased Advise

Applying to Law Schools - ED?

Hi everyone!

I'm currently studying super hard for my LSAT and plan to take it this June and it's giving me a lot of anxiety. I I'm currently not scoring where I need too & the school I want to attend has a median LSAT score of a 158. On the other hand, I just graduated college and I have a GPA of a 3.9. I also have a good amount of legal experience on my resume working as a legal assistant, paralegal, and legal intern. Do you guys think that applying either Early Decision or right when applications open in mid-late September -- will increase my chances of getting in? (Also, I know that if I apply ED it is binding so I'm not worried about that because that's where want to go). Please let me know what you guys think! All opinions are appreciated.

Best,

Marcella

New LSAT- 4th Experimental Section

Hi everyone!

So i’m sure everyone knows that the August LSAT is now 4 sections, one of which is experimental, therefore it’s not being scored. Since 7Sage doesn’t have the option to take a 4 section exam with one un-scored section, do you guys think taking a PT test will provide an accurate measure of what score we will get? Also, if we get a high score on the PT does that mean there’s a good chance we won’t score as high on the actual test? All thoughts/responses are appreciated ! :)

Send in app or wait for score

Hey everyone,

As you all know, applications for Fall '22 have opened in the beginning of September. I plan on taking my LSAT in November and sending in my applications once I receive the score. However, is it possible to send in the application without my LSAT score? If its possible, is this recommended? What do you guys think? Should I wait for my LSAT score before sending in my applications or go ahead and submit the applications now and my LSAT score will automatically be sent when I take it.

Ty all!

Reading Comp Tips?

Hey everyone. I was wondering if anyone can give some helpful tips for the reading comp section. This is my weakest and slowest section. I struggle to finish barely even 3 passages in the allocated time and the questions I do get to in time, half of them are wrong. Basically looking for a RC holy grail.

Thank you in advance and good luck on your studies!

Post - First LSAT Guidance

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is doing well! I'm in need of some serious advice. I took the LSAT for the first time last month (June 2021) and I didn't get the score I had hoped for. I plan to retake the exam in October 2021 or November LATEST, for admission in Fall 2022. I need some advice on how to get back in the groove of studying after taking a month break. I need to stay consistent and figure out a way to study effectively in order to raise my score. Full disclosure, I got a 146 on the exam and I need a 160 so I can get into my target school. Any advice helps. Thanks in advance.

@ it was the other way around for me. RC 1 was way more difficult for me compared to RC 2. praying rc1 was experimental

@ Thank you so much!! I will definitely keep all of this in mind. I do use a skipping strategy, the ones i find myself thinking way to long on I skip and get back to them later. However, I usually barely have time by the end so I guess them

Advice Post-Practice Tests

Hi!

I have a few questions regarding practice tests.

First, after taking a practice exam, should i keep studying and doing problem sets? Or is it better take a break after the exam and continue studying the next day.

Second, how do I get the most out of my practice tests? Meaning, in order to improve significantly on the next exam, what measures should I take? Should I go through all the questions I got wrong and figure out why they were wrong and what answer makes it right? Should I redo the games and think of better strategies to tackle them? In terms of reading comp, do I re read the passages to try and understand them better?

Also, how do I get better with time? I tried to do the regular 35 min time limit but caught myself significantly running out of time so I used the 50% added time. It definitely helped but next time I want to really try and finish successfully within the allocated time I will be given on the actual test.

Any tips and strategies would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

Sufficient Assumption Q's

Hi Guys,

I really struggle with sufficient assumption questions. Can someone please offer some guidance/tips/tricks on how to start understanding them and getting them correct?

Thanks in advance

To start I think you should stop focusing on timing yourself (if you havent already). This way you can focus on getting everything correct at first. Then, once you master getting the questions right, you can start drilling them and timing yourself. Some tips I can offer you are to read the rules super carefully! If you misread one rule it can set you off for the rest of the game. Once you have all your rules down start making inferences. That is, start deducting where each "letter" can/cannot. Once you do that it will be easier for you to get a sense of what goes where. Then once you have made all your inferences, split the gameboard into two parts, sometimes even three so that you can easily see all of the possible scenarios. If you arent sure what I mean by splitting the game board I recommend you go to the core curriculum and do all of the logic games problem sets that are offered AS WELL AS watch the videos before hand. These videos will help give you an idea of the best way to diagram certain games and show you the fastest and easiest approach to get to your answer. Once you have mastered all of these basics you can start timing yourself and you will be a pro in no time!! Also, make sure you review the answers you got wrong and WHY. This will give you an idea on what you need to work on! Good luck, and remember that the logic games section is the section that can always be improved the most! You got this!!

June '21 LSAT

Hey all,

Do you think between now and the June LSAT it is realistic to improve my score by at least 20 points? My issue is mostly with timing...When I take the test untimed I get roughly -3 on LG but my LR and RC fluctuates. When I take it timed, however, I basically bomb everything bc I run out of time.

Thoughts? Advice?

Thanks in advance, I appreciate it!

I scored somewhere in the mid 130s on my very very first PT. Then I got in the low 140s and this week I finally broke into the 150s. Now im working on breaking into the 160s. I promise you can do it. You just need to put in the effort. In order to substantially increase your score, try to focus on the logic games at first because thats the section that's the easiest to improve on. Also, one really helpful piece of advice that I got was that "You're in your own way." So try not to worry or stress yourself out. Just put in the effort, study, and most importantly LEARN from the mistakes you make on practice tests so you can avoid making them again. Good luck. You absolutely got this!!!!

@-1 I would say I score pretty well when untimed. I get anywhere from -1 to -4 wrong when it's untimed. Which is why i feel like now my biggest enemy is the time!

Also, Do you have any tips on how to improve w LR? I get the same question types wrong all the time

@ Thanks for your response! LG is def my best section. I'm scoring a -5 right now but thats with running out of time for the fourth game. Did you practice them timed?

Writing Sample

Hi everyone,

This weekend will be my first time taking the LSAT and I am unfamiliar with the logistics of the writing sample. Do we have to take it the same day? Do we have to take it in one sitting? When is the earliest/latest we are allowed to take it? Do law schools factor the writing sample into their decision making process?!

Please advise!!! TYIA

Reviewing Reading Comp

Hey everyone!

Can anyone give some helpful tips on how to make the most out of reviewing the mistakes I make on the RC section? What are some helpful strategies/methods for reviewing and analyzing this section to avoid making similar mistakes on future RC sections?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Soph. I also severely struggled with anxiety during PT and today I was finally able to break into the 150s timed. My tutor helped me with this by telling me that "I am in my own way." If you feel like you're panicking or getting anxious during the test, remember that it's just a practice test. Also, don't focus on the time. When you're focusing on the time thats taking ALL the focus away from reading and understanding the questions/passages/stimuli, etc. Just remember that this is just practice and once you stop focusing on the time limit (if you are), you will do significantly better. Of course, everyone is different but thats what helped me. Good luck!! :)

Getting back into it

Hi everyone.

I have been studying diligently for the June LSAT for 2 months now. For some reason, this past week I have not been in the right mindset to study at all. The thought of studying sounded dreadful and I had 0 motivation. The test is next weekend I need to get back into the groove so I can reach my goal score. Any tips for getting back into it?

Thank you!
