Forgot to include source - I called LSAC last week as I was also in the dark. I was surprised they mailed out the performance reports last month with no mention of the refund process.

I was told they mail the refund check after the official score has been released. Wasn't given a time frame, but score must come first to ensure no cancellation, and then the refund will be granted.

After posting, I was trying to strategize on my own and came up with a similar method.

Even if I read the first questions, say #1-3 slower than usual, I still would likely SAVE time in the long run than if I were to read at regular speed and have to re-read those same three questions anyway.

Thank you @pcainti665 & @pcainti665! Will definitely be trying this out

How to absorb info on test day

Hey all,

Recently saw a post in the forum about how to make sure you absorb the information from each question. Although that was more along the lines of doing so while studying, I'm wondering what everyone uses as a technique to do so on test day?

December will be my third and final write. Now that I'm used to what to expect on test day, I'm well aware of the anxiety that it brings for me (and I would assume, many other people). This usually translates into having trouble fully absorbing info for the first few questions. Once I'm a few questions in, I'm usually ok.

I personally will be warming up before the real test to make sure my brain is warmed up. That seems to help.

Was wondering if anyone had any other helpful tips?

Thanks for sharing! :)

Fellow Canadian here! Minor fyi: Western definitely doesn't require 165+. I'd say 160+ is safe.

I personally do name schools in my PS. I believe this is ok based on past research on personal statements (I've read many from top schools!). I think it's more of a personal decision rather than a concern of permissibility.

Agreed @uhinberg359! Does a study spot like that really exist?!

Where is the best place to buy the 1-35 bundle? Was it the full PT's that you bought, or an LG-specific bundle? @akikookmt881 @nicholasthomas127 @maxinexo455 @gregoryalexanderdevine723 @gregoryalexanderdevine723

Just wrote 68 last week. I have also been focusing on foolproofing games, particularly in the last 3-4 weeks. LG still threw me off, and although I was able to finish the 1st and 2nd games in record time (10min), it took me the entire rest of the time to complete the 3rd and 4th. I have heavily reviewed each. I'm pretty sure the problem was that I had missed a key inference, as I was brute forcing my way through each question and it was simply taking way too long!

In conclusion - you're not alone. LG was tricky. But, I see it as a positive. That's two more trickier games that I will know inside and out going into December.

Good luck! :)

I can relate @jamesdunniv792. I've been studying for 1.5 years, feel prepared and still have a hard time getting through the day without thinking about the pressure ahead. In my opinion, no amount of preparation will ever truly take that away. I've also written twice. Whether or not it's your first take, or your last, the nerves are real.

I'm pretty sure it was @uhinberg359 who suggested this book: "Performing Under Pressure - Hendrie Weisinger" -- https://www.amazon.com/Performing-Under-Pressure-Science-Matters/dp/B00SYZR4AW.

I ordered it on Amazon and it has been incredibly helpful so far

I'm in the exact same boat! Re-applying this year and would only be wanting to tweak my PS from last year. I love what I wrote and I think I will stick to that. Just adding on an LSAT re-write and some extra curriculars/volunteering.

Thanks for the help @akikookmt881. When I did a search, those PT's didn't come up but I now see that I have those too. Perfect!!

How many are included in your Ultimate +?

Thanks @mosheikh126, this is exactly what I was looking for!

Do you know if there are more anywhere else? @jkatz1488955 might know as well?

Thanks to both :)

Video Recordings?

Hey everyone,

Sorry if this has been posted previously but I wasn't able to find any threads relating to actual video recordings of people taking timed LSATs. I do know they exist, as I've seen people referring to those in the past on the 7sage discussion board. I'm at the point in my studying where it would be super beneficial to watch a top scorer go through the test and see their timing strategy.

Thanks in advance!

If it helps in any way, you aren't alone. I know there's many of us on here that have had similar experiences to yours. Personally, I have been at the studying for 1.5 years, while working 60 hour weeks + volunteering. I am just over the 1.5 year mark now, re-writing in December.

I wrote December 2016 and February 2017 and both were discouraging.

I had the exact same thing happen to me in February, where I was just completely unable to retain any information, even after reading the sentences over and over. All it took was one section of this to throw me off the rest. It cost me another year of law school admissions ($ spent on applications, LSAT prep, and most importantly, TIME). It has been an insanely discouraging process, and even to this day, I have days where I question whether or not it's worth it.

My advice to you is this:

First, remember that you're not alone - the support on here is incredible! It reminds me every single day that there are others going through the same struggle and that I need to keep at it.

Secondly, stay positive as much as possible and don't let the test bring down your level of determination. Success doesn't earn itself. It is earned through struggle, hardship, and eventually: accomplishment! We all can do this!

@7sagestudentservices - Can we post the time in the header so everyone is aware of the exact time to join in? 8pm seems to be taking the lead, and this close to the session, I think we should confirm something, if possible!

@forestdearing2017997 You are welcome to join! It will be at 8pm EST tonight.

I'm in. See you all there

To everyone: Don't forget to put in the questions that you would like to review!

I will be doing this a few hours prior to the session. I'm stuck at work until then.

Great find!

I definitely run into times on the LSAT where over-thinking is an issue.

It's usually when I run into an LR question with a seemingly over-complex stimulus. Naturally, I take a few extra seconds to make sure I understand it, before then going on to read through 4 completely ridiculous answer choices and 1 so OBVIOUSLY correct.

Overthinking is an LSAT writer's worst enemy.

Reading Comp Frustration

Hi all,

I'm doing really well with LG/LR and am consistently improving in these areas.

RC, however, is a completely different story.

Quick background: I have been studying on and off since Dec. 2015, while working full-time & part-time simultaneously. Right now, I'm doing about 2 PT's and 2 BR's/week. I wrote Dec. 2016 and Feb 2017. I improved about 5 points on the latest write, putting me just barely at the average score for students (huge disappointment). Because it wasn't enough for admissions in Ontario, I am giving it another shot and writing in December again.

RC is still by far my weakest section. No matter what I do, I cannot seem to improve on timing. I find it so difficult to obtain enough info from the passages AND accurately answer all of the questions in under 7-9 min/passage. Along with the RC curriculum (which I plan to redo this week) I have turned to the Trainer. I consistently see the same advice: focus on the WHY, not the WHAT. Ok, easy, so I read and get a general idea of reasoning structure, relationships between paragraphs, fine. As soon as I do that, I run into EASILY 3-4 questions asking for specific meanings of words in sentences, or details from the passage. I have a general idea of where to find all of these details but I end up referring to the passage to re-read the necessary sentence anyway. Everything about RC is sucking up time for me. Long story short, I am finding RC impossible these days to the point that when I'm writing a test and I see RC, I immediately panic.

My shortcomings in RC have been mentally draining to the point that I have days where I wonder if law school is even for me. This kind of thought process is so far from my usual way of thinking that I am beyond frustrated with both myself and the exam. I do not give up. Anyone who knows me knows that I will make law school happen whether or not it's now or three years from now. I'm not changing my mind for anything or anyone. The LSAT, though, has made me come close.

It has a way of making you feel like such a failure, and I find myself putting in daily effort to change this mindset.

SOS people!!! Please helppp
