As the title says, I’m hoping to create a small study group for LSAT prep! I’ll be working on the test all summer (goal is Sep.), and think it’d be great to have a group of peers to encourage and assist each other while studying. In addition to generally helping each other with questions/etc., I’m hoping to, for example, sit in a call with someone while we quietly work on our own stuff. Another example is telling the group what hours you plan to study on a given day/week and then following up afterwards. This can help minimize distractions and gives a sense of accountability, which some people (like me) find really helpful.
If you’re interested in this kind of group, leave a comment and I’ll DM you!
This is an 11 month late reply, but here’s how I thought about it for anyone else scrolling the comments (caught my mistake last second):
From the passage, we learn that bacterium use the attractants to get to food/light/etc. That means that moving in a straighter line via detecting the attractant takes them TOWARDS whatever thing it is they need. As concentration of the attractant increases, they go steadier and steadier in that direction.
Thus, if detecting higher rates of the harmful substance caused them to move in a straight line, then they would be going TOWARDS higher concentrations of the harmful substance —> D is wrong.
If the bacterium starts swimming towards an attractant, who’s to say that this path isn’t leading them deeper into the harmful substance? That just means the bacterium is going in a certain direction, not necessarily that it’s escaping harm —> B is wrong.
If increases in an attractant make the bacterium swim straighter and straighter TOWARDS the higher concentrations of the attractant, then E makes sense —> if lower concentrations of the harmful substance make the bacterium swim straighter, it will then make its way away from harm just like how it is able to make its way to food.
