#help please

Silly question maybe, but in this case "or" is used in the non-exclusive logic context, right? We either abandon the majority opinion or reject the definition ...

#help In answer choice B, the word "probably" is also incorrect?

I get the logic behind AC (B) but cannot understand why the "most" arrow needs to shift to C --> SBO for the conclusion to hold.

If each C is a SBO and most SBOs are CMs i.e. have skills to be a good mayor, would that not imply that most Cs do have the skills to be a good mayor?

Hi guys, silly question but the registration for LSAT-Flex is the same as it would be for a standard LSAT correct? We still have to select a testing location although the test is remote?

I see why C is correct (chose A initially).

Quick question: another point wrong about A would be that the wolves are discouraging any other new predators from moving in? Assuming that there were already predators of moose present on the island, the lack of new predators doesn't really help explain why the moose population prospered.

I chose A, but during blind review, realized how B could be confusing. Say the company has $100 in outstanding bills. The stimulus does not specify what costs the company incurs in chasing bills themselves. Also, does assigning the collection to an agency imply that the company will not incur any costs but is guaranteed $15?

(A) - the company can typically collect more than 15% by chasing debt themselves. Okay but what are the costs of doing so?! Going with the $100 example, sure they can collect $15 or more if they chase debtors themselves, but might incur time costs/ salaries of hiring a specialized team etc. of more than $20. So overall loss.

(B) - the company's costs do not exceed $15. However, we do not know what amount of the $100 bill they are able to collect. And if the costs of assigning collection to the agency are nil, cannot say for sure which option is better.

Hi CSiek, thanks so much for your detailed explanation! I agree with your structural analysis - my issue was with the content of the paragraph, not the structure.

Quick recap of the first and last sentences -

Music with recurring simple rhythm exerts a primordial appeal because it reminds us of the womb environment.

It is natural that people seeking warm and comforting sensations are drawn to simple recurring rhythmic sounds.

I first thought that (2) supported (1), but see why it should be the other way round!

I am taking the August test and would definitely PM you if I had other LR doubts. Good luck for your test whenever you are taking it!

In answer choice (C), the "last several decades" is also wrong?

@.r8ou964, haha my head imploded too, but turns out the game boards are not so bad, if you try splitting as suggested above  I found attempting the questions without the gameboards harder!

@ - thanks so much, I tried your method above and it works!! Yeappp, looking vertically across the game boards for questions 19 and 23 makes sense.

PT72.S4.G4 - Misc. Game (Bump please!)

Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone tried to solve the game using multiple game boards? It seemed do-able to try splitting game boards, but I keep going down a rabbit hole with too many options and especially, for the last question, seems like several answer choices are possible if I look at my boards.

Any suggestions welcome!!

Thank you,

Megha

People who are bold make assertions with utter certainty and confidence - how do we translate this into logic?

Make assertions with utter certainty and confidence -> Bold, or

Bold -> Make assertions with utter certainty and confidence

#help please (again).

Q. 17, Passage A doesn't really discuss the relative roles of music and poetry in an opera. It does say that in making an aesthetic judgement, music is superior. But what is the role of poetry relative to music is not addressed. Or are we referring to when he says "opera is largely independent of words" as discussion of relative role of words?

Thank you :D

Would we keep ac (d) if it were missing the 'ever'? Should music be subordinated to words with which it is combined? Passage A is likely to agree, albeit in the context of opera since it explicitly talks of opera and not other media/ arts.

I can't understand why the first (and not the last) sentence would be the MC. I note that several others posted comments with the same confusion with that question, it really was a hard question for a Q3!

If you were one of the geniuses who breezed through this one, I'd appreciate some insights!

PT76.S4.Q18 Hairless dogs

If answer choice (A) is not true, that does wreck the argument. Let's assume that the hairless dogs were found in Spain - then why could it not be that they were transported from Spain to both Peru and Mexico? It really does *not" have to be true that the dogs were transported from either of Peru/Mexico to the other (regardless of whether by boat or land).

Any insights welcome!
