This is a good lesson to keep my common knowledge away from these questions. I avoided A because it is common knowledge that the Earth's atmosphere traps more heat now than ever before. I immediately disregarded AC A because of it.

I don't agree with JY's explanation for answer choice D being incorrect. In the stimulus, the author refers to the data used to come to the conclusion as "my data". That immediately triggers the alarm bells inside my mind. What is his "data" based off of? A sample of his own TV watching habits? A sample of the entire country? It could be based off of anything. Which is why AC D is very attractive to me. "My data" seems rather "Unrepresentative" to me.

I got this question correct very quickly simply by looking for the parallel in the last sentence of each AC.

The conclusion in the stimulus was a "SOME" relationship denoted by the word "many".

I quickly narrowed it down to A & B as they are the only AC's that contain a "Some" relationship in the conclusion. All the other AC's are "always" relationships. This a quick method to eliminate AC's without having to fully map out.

I mapped it out a bit differently and still got the question correct. My map:

Sculpture (S) → Art (A) → Intense Feelings (IF)

S → IF

Therefore

S → A

If this study was indeed true, it would resolve/reconcile why I become violent after eating a cheeseburger and bombing the LSAT. Either that or I have severe emotional issues. I'll go with the former.

I identified this question as MSS, which is what led me to the incorrect AC E. This is a good lesson to be careful when reading the question stem. When doing this test timed, I read the stem as saying "most strongly supports", but upon my BR I noticed it only said "most supports". One word makes all the difference in obtaining the correct answer.

The question stem explicitly states the sufficient assumption and asks what "must be true". That's simply a different way of asking what the necessary assumption is.

Basic Logic: A → B

A

Therefore, B

If A is true, then B Must be True

Love it, thanks! I made it a habit to read over the LR Question flow charts before doing a section, the more content the merrier. Here is a similar LR strategy guide another user shared on 7Sage that you can use as well: https://quizlet.com/142715075/lsat-lr-strategies-by-question-type-flash-cards/

If there was a question on what the Main Point of this explanation video is....this would be the answer.

Is there something similar to the videos where JY breaks down the Logic Games being done by students for RC? I think it'd be very helpful to see how JY breaks down the passage under regular time constraints.

I picked D as well for number 15. My understanding is that it was too general to be the main point. It does a good job of summing up the passage, but answer choice B does the same thing while getting into a bit more detail.

Yes, reading the stimulus & AC's before mapping is my new method to approaching questions. I've found that 1 or 2 LR questions's per section have the answer choice essentially written out in the stimulus, thus rendering mapping useless. If you want to achieve a score of 170 it is essential to take advantage of the freebie questions very quickly which allows more time for the tough questions.

This is a good learning lesson. I immediately began to map out the conditional statements only to realize that the answer was so obvious that mapping wasn't necessary. Going to get into the habit of reading the stimulus and answer choices before mapping. Time is crucial, can't afford to waste time on questions like this on the LSAT!
