Question About Blind Review

Do we blind review every section? So basically review all of our circled questions, maybe even re-read the reading comp passages at a slower pace to confirm answer choices etc.? We basically can review the whole test at a slow untimed pace? THEN check our answers?

Also for full length PT's do you blind review the same day you took it or the day after? What do you think is more useful? Obviously when I am doing section drilling I will BR immediately after.

Any advice would be awesome! Thanks!!!!!

Elvislives: VERY TRUE. I think as soon as I finish the course I need to stop dipping my toes in the water and just jump in with tests. Blind review them and improve that way. I need to stop thinking there is a magic book that will help me with a section, in the end I need to just drill drill drill. Thanks so much!

I am taking the Feb 2015 LSAT btw. And I plan on studying a little bit everyday and taking a test or two a week during my fall semester of college. Do you think I have enough time??

chrijani7: Thanks so much for the input! I am currently still halfway through the 7sage program. Should be done with the course in about 2 weeks. Should I wait to finish and take a couple practice tests to see where I stand then decide if I need another book to supplement LR. That is the only section I am really worried about. I hear 7Sage is the best for LG and Reading Comp I have been improving how I read and find RC can be improved with practice.

Also a question about the Trainer- does Mike Kim explain LR stuff more easily or a better way then JY or did the Trainer tie everything we learned in 7Sage together. Any other suggestions on how to improve LC or any particular book to get?

Thanks in advance!

How Much Has 7Sage Improved Your LR?

I know you can't expect to see a huge increase in your LR score a day after you finish the 7sage course. But any success stories to keep me motivated would be great. I feel like I am really learning with 7sage but people on these forums still recommend buying either a manhattan LR book or the lsat trainer to supplement. I thought 7sage would give you everything you need as long as you drill, drill, drill and blind review is key right? I read through the powerscore bibles and by far I feel like 7sage is so much better.

Any insight would help!

HELLO FELLOW SAGERS :)

I have a question, I am still going through the 7sage program (at the halfway mark). I thought the way JY explains his LR is the best? No doubt LG is best but LR is really making me feel like I am learning something.

1)Can someone tell me how much their LR has improved with 7sage?

2)At what point after drilling with 7sage should you see an improvement in your score or decide to buy another book. I have the powerscore series (which i basically stopped reading because of 7sage), but don't want to buy another manhattan or trainer book and confuse myself with theories that JY has taught.

3) I don't think your going to see an increase in your score with the first prep test you take right after 7sage, because applying all the techniques take time right?

Any advice to my several questions would be helpful!

Balancing LSAT Studying and Junior Year Of College

Hi guys! So I spent the summer working through the 7Sage lesson prep and now am at the stage where I just drill PT's and review them. BUT I am a junior in college who is majoring in Finance and a minor in Econ aka a lot of course load. I also am in a frat and want to join an extra finance club but any suggestions on time management? I am thinking about definitely taking a test every friday and reviewing it sat/sunday. Then taking another test on like monday but taking the tuesday-thursday to review it (i.e. in between my classes and when I have a spare hour) granted there will be weeks that I can't get both tests in can I just get advice from anyone else who has had success balancing work/school with LSAT studying? BTW I am taking the LSAT in February of 2014. Any advice would help!!

Okay thanks so much for the reply. So for the weaken questions. Depending on if its a correlation or coincidence the correct "weaken" answer will do one of the following: 1) introduce a alternate cause 2) show the effect is actually causing the cause 3) or we check the data set... cause we learned that was the "method" by JY never really applied that method to his videos explicitly. So is that what I should be applying to weakening questions?

I just watched the strengthen lessons today and will do the problem sets tomorrow. Hopefully with a fresh mind I will see the assumptions more clearly (wishful thinking).

How long does it take for these assumptions to "click" does it help when you do a bunch of tests? Because I am just watching lessons now and probably till the end of summer. Probably won't start drilling till the first week of September.

Thanks for all your help!!!!

So JY always predicts a assumption that closes the gap between the premises and conclusion, and its magically in the answer choices. For those of us who don't have this ability... WHAT DO WE DO. I honestly know there is an assumption that is being made, should I just use that thought alone to approach the answer choices or should I really try to pre-phrase an answer or something. It is just very discouraging to not even get the assumption correct because how do you expect to get the answer right.

Any responses or your own thoughts on how to approach weakening/strengthening would really help!

Thank you so much Teddy for your very sincere answer! You definitely gave me a lot of optimism. I am halfway through summer and starting 7sage and I am so angry I wasted the first half of the summer struggling going through the PowerScore Books, and I already feel behind! I am going to try to dive into the lessons and knock out as many as I can in the summer so when I go back to college late august I can do a test a week? Does that sound sufficent? Or right after I learn my lessons should I do section practice first then focus on tests? Sorry for all the questions but I have no one but the 7Sage community! My lsat is Feb 2015 btw!

How much of an increase does 7Sage have on your LR? I heard alot of people rave that LG goes down to almost -2/-3.

Thanks for the insight!

I am well through halfway of my PowerScore bibles (LG and LR, just started RC) but just started 7Sage two days ago. What should I do at this point? Keep reading both or just focus on 7Sage? I am studying for the February 2015 LSAT. Can anyone tell me specific advantages to either method? I am just scared of getting confused b/t the Bibles and 7Sage. Thanks!

I subscribed to "The Economist" because I heard that was good. But how about the NyTimes or WallStreet Journal? Some people said to even read articles on history.com to get used to women suffrage and abolishinist movements etc.

Thoughts anyone?

Thanks so much for the advice Joe! I am 90% through the 7Sage curriculum and before I start blazing through PT's I am going to review all the logic games from the lessons/problem sets and make sure I know how to do them 100% accurately. Definitely I hear practice makes perfect so I won't be giving up!

Besides just working on lsat stuff try to do other things to keep your mind occupied.. Watch a movie or workout! Do anything that makes you feel good :)

If your relationship ended because your significant other couldn't handle that you wanted to prepare for a test that would make both of your futures brighter, he/she wasn't the one... They will come back when they mature..

Hope this helps! Stay positive and keep yourself busy :)

Thanks so much for your input! Definitely I want to know all the logic games we did in the syllabus like the back of my hand. So hopefully then I can approach future ones using the inferences and techniques I learned. Thanks for the tip!

How long do logic games take to click? If I do enough and make sure I can memorize and do all the problem sets will I be better equipped for future games (not completely set, but better equipped)? I just can't do more then like 2 questions for each game and it is very discouraging. Any tips/advice? Obviously JY stresses practice, but during a video he's like "yea like try to get this done in 5 minutes".... when I was staring at my page and did 2 problems after 20 minutes.

Any advice? Or tips?

Thanks for the answers guys!

-Nilesh S- So is your end recommendation to still buy the LSAT Trainer? Or should I wait to see where I stand after I finish my 7Sage course/take a few practice tests and see if I need to get another book?

Confirm action

Are you sure?
