this is difficult to prep for, but:

on test day when an LR q is bugging you, you don't get the comfort that you'll just BR it later that day. It's real and whichever answer you choose is definite.

schools will likely see that you took the feb lsat and wait to make a decision until your score comes back. that TOTALLY depends on the school though, so give the admin office a call and ask. I'm sure they will be very nice about it.

yes to all previous comments.

I usually move forward for miscellanious games and do them last because you have NO idea if theyll be time consuming or short.

Know your strengths and work them in your favor. If you can't finish all the questions (which you should work towards) do the game types you feel comfortable with

PT every other day or so, mostly retakes of ones I took for the September test so I'm reviewing them very closely.

Drill on whatever I missed.

Doing this until Thursday before D-Day.

hi guys. I took in september, after only having practiced with the newer RC very minimally. on tests in the 1990s I can go -2 or -3, whereas on tests from the 2000s and on it is much more difficult to attain that level of success. I paid the price on test day and went -8 on the RC of the test, killing my score.

Now I'm studying for february and am implementing some new strategies to ensure I'm ready for the notched up RC. My biggest tip is to drill passages, even ones you've done before, and to really consider WHY wrong answers are wrong and WHY right answers are right. for questions I struggle with I write out my reasoning, with line numbers from the passage as support, for eliminating each wrong answer. This has really helped me in my drills and PTs.

Advice from J.Y. or staff on retaking?

I'd really like some professional advice on retaking, but not sure how to e-mail J.Y. or staff.

Has anyone ever heard them mention it or strategies related to it?

(or know how to contact them/do they respond to direct contact?)

Retaking, most likely in February as I bombed September, and really need to reassess but not sure where to start.

@ still in shock. want to retake but friends begging me not to. I know I will have to though. I was really hoping to at least hit 3 below my average.

In short. I'm with you.

LSAT trainer is a gift from God (if God is Mike Kim).

Get it. Synthesize it with 7sage.

Personally, I started with Trainer. Used 7sage. Took the test. 164. Not happy. Now prepping again with LG Bible, 7sage, Manhattan prep on RC, LG and LR. All prep materials going together very well.

Yes, the tests have changed.

Also, major fluctuations may point to a problem in your fundamentals. Are you missing problems you know you should have gotten? Are you making mistakes that you look back on and say 'Gosh I should have known better!'

Either way, maybe review the fundamental 7sage lessons, or any other prep materials you've used, and make sure your foundations are SOLID

September Score Waiting/Reveal

Hi guys!

I thought I'd start a thread in anticipation of tomorrow, when scores will likely be released, for us to vent on/celebrate/maybe cry?

For real though, I NEED MY SCORE.

I use scantrons with every PT! For some people who might be slow/cautious at bubbling it can take about a minute all together to bubble all the answers.

Also, I do believe ear plugs are not allowed in the testing center. Double check that with LSAT before planning on that!

Diag: 155

Current PT avg (last 5, from PT 60 and up): 169

study, study, study. took in sept when I really wasn't ready (but just wanted to get it over with) and got a 164. Retaking and much more confident this time around.

I've found a lot of help with my retake on 7sage and top law schools, utilize your peers! I've been so pleasantly surprised to see how communal lsat takers are. there are plenty of study guides/schedules/advice available to you. utilize it early on after you've established foundations.

I would say, yes, contemporary LSAT is definitely harder. licknee did a great job of explaining why.

I am a sincere believer in drilling old PTs (especially LGs). But don't rely exclusively on older (pre 50 something, I'd say) to be a barometer for your capabilities on test day.

Example of this: I can score a 175-177 on LSATs pre 38 regularly. On tests from the 60s, I'm happy for a 172. That is my personal experience, granted. But the point is, if I went in on test day having only practiced with older LSATs I'd have grand illusions about how that test was gonna go.

Long story short. Drill the old. PT with the new. You'll be golden.

Bump.

This has been happening to me. Two schools far beyond my reach have sent me waivers and while I guess its harmless to apply because it is free but I feel a bit confused. Why do schools do this? Especially top schools which have a large pool of applicants?

Random spikes and drops in PT scores

Hi all,

I'm taking in September and as D-Day rapidly approches I am PTing pretty often. I take the tests under timed conditions, with the proctor and early in the morning (sine the Sep exam is at 8:30 am). I'm sitting happily on a 170 average but have had one spike score, a 176, and one drop score, a 164. What can these outlier scores be attributed to? How do you manage them mentally? Does anyone know if similar spikes and drops happen on test day.

Why go to law school?

Hi all!

After a long day of prepping and wracking my brain over LR, I am asking myself "Why law school?" I'm in need of motivation--or maybe a wake-up call.

I'm curious, why do you all want to go to law school? What keeps you motivated? What do you want to do that taking the LSAT will enable you to do?

Confirm action

Are you sure?
