Does anyone remember how many questions were on the exam?
I had 3 LR, 1 RC, 1LG and 100 total question...
Very anxious that I made a bubbling error and might need to cancel...
@.E.D thanks for the encouragement. I didn't score a 162 on a completely fresh diagnostic. I chose to complete the LG bible and the 7sage course before taking my first full length diagnostic.
I'll work on the LG games in particular and do as many exams + blind review as I can to increase my score. 167 or higher was my initial goal. A 5 point jump from my 162 diagnostic seems reasonable but I'll shoot for more!!!
Thanks for all your guidance @ , @ , @ and @ .
My first three prep tests were 37, 38, 39 since the explanations came free with the course.
I was missing 5 to 6 on the LR sections.
Once I felt confident about my score range, I decided to buy the Ultimate and start with more recent practice tests. I jumped ahead to 52, 53, 54.
On the latter three, I missed 7 to 8 on the LR sections. Simultaneously, I did better on RC and LG but only by 1-2 questions.
I think this might be due to the increased difficulty or different structure of LR questions on later practice tests.
Also, @ I am going to try and see if skipping helps in this regard since I usually run out of time with 2 remaining questions and guess on both regardless of the prep test number.
@ makes perfect sense. I struggle with this since I am always interested in my score and need to resist the urge to see if I am improving. Better to focus on on what will help me improve in the first place - why I got certain questions wrong.
LG medium, LR medium, RCmedium.
Im had three LRso hopefully I was overthinking when I did a quick count at the end and at least one was 26 questions.
Really not sure what to do at this point. I might be overthinking this. Doesn't make much sense to cancel at this point...

thanks for your encouragement @ @.rizeq @.E.D !
Do you have a rough estimate of how much the average person improves after practicing with PTs +blind review? Also, are 20 PTs enough?
Prior to my intensive two week study, I was scoring on average -5 on LR & RC and -6 on LG.
After two weeks of intensive study (question banks, review of my weaknesses etc.), I am missing -3 to -5 on LG and on RC.
That is the good news.
BUT
Bad news. I started missing -7 and once -8 on LR. :(
My overall score has dropped as a result.
WHAT IS GOING ON???
@ keep me posted on what LSAC says. I did undergrad in the US and my masters is a taught degree from the UK with grades that are not easily equated to US GPAs...
My goal is a 168+ to get into my target law schools.
My PT score range is 164-166. I have burned PTs from 55 - 70.
Today I had the worst score (PT70) since I started studying earlier this year.
I am contemplating withdrawing or taking the June test and immediately canceling. If I withdraw, I will lose money. If I take and cancel, I will also lose money BUT I will at least have had the experience of sitting and taking an offical LSAT.
The only other consideration is that I can not take the September LSAT due to work scheduling and I will instead be taking the December LSAT. I would like to apply this upcoming fall and I am a bit worried that December is late for the LSAT...
Thoughts?
Thank you.
Over the past three months, I completed the 7sage course and the Powerscore LG Bible. I took my first post study practice test and scored a 162 and -5, -5, -6, -6 on my four sections so there is no glaring weakness in a particular section for me.
I am planning to take 20 practice tests before the June 2017 LSAT and I am aiming for a 167+.
Is this a reasonable expectation?
How big of a score increase do people usually see after taking lots of timed PTs?
THANKS!
@
Since this is your first take, I wouldn't cancel.
I took the test today as well and I felt like I went too quickly and made errors in LR. I wasn't able to focus on RC and I guessed on 4 questions on the LG. I am aiming for a 165+ and I think that is an unlikely scenario. Unlikely, but not impossible so I am going to keep my score.
Overall, even if you did far below your goal today (let's say sub 160), you are in great shape to get that 165+ next time around and such a large gap between your scores will make it clear that you had a tough test day, studied, then did well next time around.
Thanks! I was able to find a ziplock with no logo at a party store to allay any worries. Thanks for your help @ @
Appreciate the insights. Will try them out this upcoming week!
Does it matter if the bag has the ziploc or other company logo on it? Exam on Sunday so urgent!
I am really struggling with this question type. It is the most often question I get wrong in LR.
My current scores are
(-3 to -4) RC & LG
(-5 to -6) LR
If I can get 2 more flaw questions right - they are very common and I always miss 1 or 2 - I could increase my average LSAT from a 163/4 to a 166/7.
I watched YJ's video and the two step video. I also have practiced many questions. I keep narrowing down the final two and keep picking the wrong one....
Please help!
I am able to get perfects scores on the section without time limits but during PTs I range from -3 to -6.
My biggest issue is feeling rushed during the PT...
Any advice?
@ , @ , @ , @ another quick question. I checked my analytics and RC InferAuthorPerspective are the ones I get wrong the most often. Any specific advice there?
@ I will check out PT 23 Game 3 later today.
@ @ thanks for the pointers. I took PT 69 today and scored a -4 on RC with the new strategy (no annotations, only marks on important words/author opinion & a quick skim after finishing to look for structure). Back to the score I got on my first PT so happy to see that.
Another quick question on LG. Do you two spend a few seconds looking at a setup for inferences automatically after completing it? I am finding that this is the critical difference in harder games I do well on vs those that I don't. I have to resist the urge to just push out the game with the questions...
Thanks for your help @.rizeq !
I have a UK masters graded on a scale very different from the US GPA system. How will it be evaluated by LSAC?
Thanks!
In the PT 50s I was solid -4/-5 on RC. On LR I was missing more than 6 per section.
I am wrapping up the 60s and I am now solid -2 to -4 on LR.
BUT NOW I AM -7/-8 on RC!!!
LG is stable ranging from -3 to -5.
If I can get my RC back to -4/-5, I will be able to score in the 166-168 range which is my goal.
Right now I've dropped to 163-165 :( Very Very Very down and disappointed...
Any suggestions on how to improve RC in the final stretch before the June LSAT?
Also, 7sage and LSAT Trainer strategies actually made me a worse RC test taker. I do much better when I stop over-thinking/analyzing and just read slowly and carefully while visualizing the passages. This can take 3-4 minutes for the passage but I do much better. Annotating via 7sage and LSAT Trainer suggestions just slows me down and ruins my flow. I am going to try the rest of the tests with my original strategy and ditch what I have learned. Anyone else have experience with this?
Thank you in advance!
@ Thanks for that clarification. I think that is exactly the mistake I made that I took note of and am now trying to figure out. Thanks for pointing that out!!
Doing a quick review of concepts that I struggled with early on.
I remember the following rule being simple to diagram:
L is before M but after K.
K-L-M
But I also remember that there is another type of rule that is similar to the above but it involves and "or". I think it goes like this:
K is before M or after L, but not both.
M-K-L, or L-K-M?
Does anyone know what I am referring to? If so, could you link to the lesson or a game that highlights the above?
I can't remember where it came from but the difference between the two above really stumped me at some point....
Is there a summary PDF of the valid and invalid argument forms?
Thank You!
Has anyone received scores? If so please keep us updated :)
@ @ @ @
I tried another strategy with PT 55 that a friend suggested. I took the LR sections without a time constraint but I did use a stop watch to track time.
It took me 42 minutes but I finished with a -1 (a mistake that I shouldn't have made).
Looks like I just need to really hone in my skills on the question types and the format of recent tests.
Timing will be next issue but it is encouraging to see that I am capable of getting these questions right!
@ i think there might have been another version with 3 LR with 25 questions each. I thinks it's best to not worry and just wait till the scores are released. Like you, I remember counting 3LR sections with 25q each.
