Writing Sample

Hi all,

Can we complete the writing sample at any time? I am taking the August Flex tomorrow and I know they opened up the writing sample 8 days ago, but I just want to verify that I'll be able to complete it on test day or in the days following. The language on LSAC's site just says candidates can complete "starting 8 days prior to their LSAT administration."

Logistically, do I need to sign up for a Proctor U time slot or is it an LSAC proctored thing?

Thanks!

I misread AC E as referring to the possibility that the computers this industry is CREATING could be liable to error (as a whole or in some of their other component parts). I thought this was incorrect because it was referring to the whole computer, rather than to the specific part — the microprocessor — that the stimulus references. I pretty much interpreted it as saying about the same thing as AC C. Now I realize that AC E actually refers to the computers that DESIGN the microprocessor part. Sigh.

Q4

I chose AC E for this question because the premise that immediately followed the main point talked about the potential failure of the "protective barrier" — what I perceived as a referential phrase for the metal casing and cement used to prevent oil from contaminating the groundwater. In my initial reading I thought the author was referring to the lack of understanding of the MATERIALS used in the casing.

But read further and the premise continues, listing things that could POTENTIALLY EFFECT the materials used in the protective barrier — corrosion from fluids flowing up the well, effects of groundwater bacteria, traffic vibrations and changing water chemistry. It's not about a "rudimentary understanding" of the materials themselves; it's about a lack of understanding of the POTENTIAL EFFECTS all these things in the drilling site — things that one could consider apart of the "complex geological systems" — could have on those materials. Read further and premise #2 refers specifically to the "poor understanding of the area's subsurface geology."

I had lots of issues with even getting the PSI browser downloaded in the first place, and the same thing happened to me. If it closes out on you mid-session PSI support directed me to copy and paste the very end of the link -- it said p= and then a set of capital letters -- into the PSI browser where it asks for the code. If that doesn't work, there's always good ole super responsive LSAC...

It's definitely possible! I know someone who's just finishing up a JD/MD program -- my boyfriend is a surgeon (resident) and one of his med school classmates was pursuing a JD/MD. May I ask why though? Is there a specific area in which you wish to utilize your potential law-medicine expertise? Medical malpractice law, medical device patents, etc.? Don't give up on the dream if you have a compelling reason for pursuing it, but if it's something you're merely interested in because both fields are "interesting" I would caution against it. While there is overlap, each field has so much depth on its own. Surgery in particular is highly competitive, and is truly a craft that requires not only a base of deep medical knowledge, but precision and technical skill that come through regular practice in the OR. It may not be the most practical if you want to practice specifically as a surgeon (the hours in surgery are particularly crazy —12-plus hour days are the norm during residency). Consider if you were going in for surgery: would you pick someone who operates regularly and has completed thousands of procedures, or the person who operates once a week or month? Getting your MD and not practicing is an option, but if you do want to practice, you might want to consider something on the medicine side rather than the surgery side for residency. JD/MD could also be of value if you're thinking of getting into hospital administration eventually.

Offline access

Hey all,

I'm going to be traveling and without wifi next weekend so I'm wondering if it's possible to access the tests and 7sage materials offline? Is there a way to download tests, problem sets and/or videos ahead of time?

Confirm action

Are you sure?
