When I got my accommodations approved for extra time and a few other things it said I had to take the test remotely. When I chose the day and time for the test, it showed my extra time on there (I asked for 100% extra time which makes it an 8 hr day!!)

Out of curiosity, why is it an 8-hour day with accommodations? I'm aware that 100% extra time is 70 minutes per section, which would amount to 4 hours and 40 minutes since there are four sections. Where does the rest of the time go? I'm asking because this is my first time taking the LSAT with similar accommodations and want to know what to expect on that day. Thank for your response.

Curious about this too - maybe breaks in between sections in addition to extra time? Can someone clarify? :)

I'm going to jump on here and agree with everyone else! You are not too old - the time will pass anyways, so you might as well be using it to do things your interested in. My cousin was a mature applicant too and didn't regret it! She was one of the reasons that I considered giving the LSAT a try. I had a teacher in high school that was mid to late thirties when he left to start med school!

It's never too late - good luck with everything!

Parent with Cancer and LSAT

Hey everyone!

Wondering if there is anyone that currently has a parent with cancer and is studying for their LSAT? How has studying been? How are you managing both the LSAT and care-taking?

I was originally suppose to take the Nov LSAT and then bumped it to Jan because my father's cancer treatment was a large commitment, he currently has stage 3 skin cancer (don't forget to wear sunscreen everyday y'all). I have a few more days to decide if I still want to do the Jan LSAT or take it in Feb/early next year and apply next cycle (I'm PT'ing around 160-167 timed). I'm 24 right now and I know 26 is not old but I feel a bit pressured to get in next cycle at 25. I worry that I might commit to the Jan LSAT and then my father's cancer might progress which will only lead to more stress and anxiety.

Everyone around me has been nothing but supportive about any decision I make so I'm just looking to get any general advice from people experiencing the same or a similar thing! Thanks everyone and happy studying!!

IMO Logic Games is the easiest section to master and the best section for a majority of people. According to LSAC, the median grade is not expected to rise with the new format so I'm going to assume they might introduce new question types to accommodate for this change.

Check with the universities you are applying too, some take as late as the February! I would recommend you try again because why not! I don't even think you need to cancel because there aren't a lot of Canadian schools that average the scores anymore, they mostly all just take your highest score now. Best of luck with everything!!

Wow the comments on this post are SO CUTE AND SUPPORTIVE :')

I am not close in age to you nor do I have a child but I had a very close relative start law school around the same time as you. She had her first child in her last year and her second child a bit after graduation, a little bit after so got called the bar. She told me that she doesn't regret it and although it was stressful at times, she felt better about having children before starting her law career. If I was in the same boat as her, I would prefer this too.

Just wanted to comment and say that you can do it and I believe in you! You'll be an awesome mother and lawyer! Best of luck with everything!

Hey! I have a friend that practices Health Law and Medical Defence here in Canada! I'm sure it differs greatly because your located in the US - but they did not receive an MD, they just completed a JD and began working in that field. What is your rational for wanting to do both?
