Hi! I have a question about (C)
[Stimulus]
Condition (1) face danger solely for the intention of getting pleasure → /courage
Condition (2) courage → [person] and [in acting to attain a goal] and [perseveres] and [in the fact of fear]
I understand (C) fails to meet the sufficient condition of (1)
But I am not clear about why (C) fails to negate the necessary condition of (2)
As far as I learn from your core logic lectures,
Among these components in the necessary condition; [person] and [in acting to attain a goal] and [perseveres] and [in the fact of fear], when one of the components is negated, the whole necessary condition becomes negated. If this is the case, the sufficient condition- courage- is negated consequently.
A person who “happens to” derive pleasure may mean that the person unintentionally derives pleasure. If true, this can negate the second component of the necessary condition [in acting to attain a goal], which leads to negate the sufficient condition - courage.
Do you think I understand this question correctly? Your answer will be really helpful! Thanks!
