I'm in the same boat! I don't see an email with the instructions, and I'm not able to create an account via Proctor U. Anyone know what we should do?

August LSAT test time

Does anyone know what time the August 2021 LSAT test will be administered? Since it's still in the online format, but its not Flex, I'm not sure if we will have the opportunity to schedule it at anytime during the day, or if there will be a set time we all take it (like 9:00am est)

Would love to start taking practice tests at the set time if I can figure out what time of day to expect to take it, but I can't find anything about this from LSAC!

I've been combining sections from older PTs with the newer ones - I select a more recent PT to take, set it to Flex, and then in a separate tab, create another section from an older PT (I do this through the Problem Set function, and with a piece of paper or my hand I cover up information about the game types/difficulty so I don't know what to expect). So for example I just took PT81, set it to Flex (so it eliminated the second LR section), and then before I started I did all 4 games from PT11 under the 35 minute timer with a one minute break before going into the scored PT81. This way, you can also double up on the section that you need the most practice in. For me, it's LG so I just use it as an opportunity to practice that area, but you could also do this with all the LR or RC questions from a section of an older test (or even newer tests for LR since we have an overflow of LR material). Then the score I get back on PT81 is also accurate based on 3 sections, but I'm building the stamina for 4 sections in a row.

Sadly, I'm one of those people who lost out on the 3 section format, since more LR questions usually padded my weak LG. So when I don't set it to Flex, my score looks higher than it would be otherwise. It probably depends on your strengths, but it did impact my score by a few points. That was a very sad day that I realized my average scores are lower when only scoring 3 sections, so I recommend keeping to 3 for more accuracy as early as possible. Hope this makes sense and helps!

Note - on the real test, you get a 1 minute break between sections 1-2 / 3-4 and a 10 minute break between 2-3. So this is a close way to simulate!

Confirming that on the August LSAT I got a 166, 91st percentile.

Curious what this means relative to previous years - is the curve getting harder to break? Do we anticipate this is the trend for future tests?

Hi everyone taking the exam this weekend! I took the test today and I just want to spread some positive encouraging energy to others on their way in. I had the technical issue occur and was able to resolve it by swiftly asking my proctor in the chat to pause the exam and reset. They did and I lost some time but overall it did not destroy me. It certainly frazzled me, but it sounds like LSAC has resolved it and you all should hopefully be fine the rest of the weekend! My exam felt totally on par with recent PTs. You are as prepared for this as any other recent PT! Remember: your nerves are just reminding you that this is important to you, and you can use that to your benefit. Try to channel the nerves into positive excitement to watch yourself flow through it. It’s amazing what your brain can and will do. Trust yourself! You got this!!

Same thing happened to me. After a few minutes I was able to get my proctor to pause and reset and it didn’t happen again, but I lost time and really disrupted my flow. I was able to finish but definitely had a lot of anxiety about the lost time and was panicky for the remainder of the test. You can contact LSAC to try to get a free retake. I personally don’t want to retake it bc I am just totally spent, but if you think it really hurt your score you can give it a shot! I’m curious if this will be reflected in the curve or not — knowing more people will take it later after they potentially resolve the bug I hope Friday test takers don’t get totally thrown out of the curve :(
