PT82.S01.Q22 - This one really confused me

This one really confused me because I thought we were always supposed to assume that the premises are automatically true. So the author saying "original" would be a statement of fact rather than circular reasoning. Could someone #help

Hi Everyone,

I just did question 18 in Section 2 of PT 77 and I am confused by the language in answer choice D. It says "fails to exclude the possibility that there might be legitimate evidence motivating those who reject Shakespeare's authorship". The fails to exclude part threw me off and I was hoping someone could better explain that to me. Thanks!
