i think thats how its set up for everyone, but it really just depends on what works best for you. you dont necessarily have to follow everything as is after you are done with the core curriculum. when i took the lsat the first time, i took just tests but the second time i also did drilling as a part of the study process

hope that helps

Addendum Question

hey everyone, i had a question about writing an addendum in regards to your lsat score.

if you have a score that is 90th percentile or above, but you do not meet the median for the school to which you are applying (for example if you are applying to it as a reach school) is it acceptable to write an addendum? or would that seem like you are just making up a reason for not meeting their median?

thank you :)

i agree with everything that @ddboling198426 said. i was in the same boat and hesitant to write as well as we are often seen as part of the 'overrepresented minorities' but at the end of the day that should not hold us back from writing about our experiences when we have dealt with things that have to do with our race and or culture. that definitely shapes ur character and having immigrant parents also teaches you a lot about hard work and struggle. you should definitely write it, i ultimately wrote my personal statement on this topic and i am happy with how it came out because its from my true and genuine experience. and i don't think any school would look at it negatively because they have defined diversity as extremely broad from race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, religion, sexual orientation, physical handicaps, learning disabilities, and to unusual backgrounds, so really diversity is anything that you think is diverse about you and being bicultural definitely works

good luck!

retake & applying to law school question

hi, if anyone had insight i had a question.

if i were to apply with my current score by december to schools i believe i can get into, but wanted to retake in january, would those schools hold off on looking at my application? because i do want to apply now but am thinking about retaking in january to see if i can get a higher score to potentially negotiate scholarships. is this something i can email schools that i am interested in and ask them about? do you know if it is possible for me to ask them to review my application as is with my current score and not wait for my january result?

thank you!

@karenako539 tysm for the advice! i appreciate it and those are all extremely great pointers to consider. whether or not to apply after the january exam is definitely is one of those questions that gets mixed answers.

i hope that you get the score that you want for the november exam and wish you the best of luck on your application process :). thank you again

Applying Advice

hi guys!

so im awaiting my november score like a lot of us, and i am trying to think of what i should do based on the score i get, so i can be ready when i see it. i was thinking that if it is 164 and lower i want to retake, but in that case is it too late to apply if i take it in january? or should i skip this application cycle and apply for fall 2022? because i have read a lot of mixed things with some saying it is alright to apply at that time and others saying that february applicants rarely get scholarship money, which i really need.

thank you in advance.

that should be alright, mine took around 2-3 weeks to get received and then processed from the time that i ordered it! just keep an eye out on it and then at the three week mark i might call to inquire about it

Testing Equipment Question

hi guys! im taking the test this sunday and ive been testing out my equipment on the proctor u website everyday. the last few days it has been saying that my RAM usage is too high and i searched up so many different ways to bring it down but itll stay good for a few and then when i test it again hours later its back up to around 93-98% usage and the max allowed is 90%. i have a 2018 macbook air.

has anyone taken the exam even if their RAM didnt pass and it went fine? im not sure what to do at this point

thank you

the check in process is fairly simple if you dont have any connection issues or anything. it takes a couple of minutes. when you log in first you do everything you have to do on ur own like take a pic of urself and ur ID and then u wait to get connected to ur proctor and they send u rules and have u do a room scan show ur hands and everything. and yes it is the exact same as it is on law hub! and no it does not start immediately, you get to click begin next section or something along those lines

i agree with the above ^ i think you should definitely write it, i've seen in many diversity statement descriptions that it can be more than just culture or race and those experiences would make for a great diversity statement

if its your first time taking the test, when they send out the email the day that registration opens up (oct 29th) they will have instructions for you with how to make the account. when i took it in august it was my first time, and they sent me a temp username and password to set up my account and then register for a time slot

yes its the same for me! so i usually just switch it to unlimited time and stop it myself when it hits 35:00. but sometimes practicing that way can be beneficial too because it forces you to try to get it done in 33 minutes so that on the real thing you can possibly do the same and have extra time to go back

hey im not the best at explaining but im going to try!

so what the author says in the stimulus as to why the proposal should not be implemented is because skill varies per doctor, so testing the procedure out in a trial would be unhelpful, since as the author says the effectiveness will always depend on the surgeon who is performing it, and therefore cannot really be tested out so to say.

A is correct because it points out a major thing that the author forgets to consider. what if clinical trials could be helpful for new procedures because there could be something naturally wrong with the procedures? like how well a car is driven depends invariably on the person who is driving it. but what if there is something mechanically wrong with someones car that prevents them from driving it properly? just like that, what if regardless of the fact that the effectiveness will vary based on who is performing it, the reasoning given for the clinical trial extension proposal being rejected is not enough, because it could still be helpful in informing us about whether or not the procedure has anything wrong with it in general

B is wrong because the author does not need to consider this. he can ignore that possibility and his argument is still fine, ignoring it does not hurt his argument like ignoring A does. So what if it is meant to elicit criticism?

C is wrong because the author does not assume anything about a singular surgeon's skills remaining the same throughout his life. If anything, he assumes that all surgeons skills differ (which i believe is an alright and common sense assumption to make) but he does not assume anything about skills changing or not changing throughout life. assuming this does not benefit his argument in any way.

D is wrong because not providing scientific evidence does not make the argument flawed. He gave his reasoning and we have to take his word for it that its true as he did provided premises. These kind of arguments where they do not give evidence where it is clearly needed are usually more obvious than this i think as far as what i've seen

I don't really know how to explain why E is wrong but I hope that my explanation for why A is correct helps you understand it a bit better.

Hope that helps, sorry if it isnt the best!!

you can have five pieces of blank paper, lined, graphed or unlined ..i used white printer paper. there was no problem at all! also in this link if you go under 'taking the lsat-flex' and click on the "what am i allowed to have with me during lsat-flex?" it breaks everything down for you..good luck!

i came across this website the other day, and as 7sage says about their estimator, i would take it with a grain of salt bc its really only the schools who know how they calculate and decide on scholarships..hope it helps!!

this also happened to me a bunch of different times before the exam. it was always random, some days it was found and other days it was not. the days it was found it said that it was strong and good to go, and the day of the exam everything worked normally. i would not worry about it too much
