PT79.S2.Q05 - muscle memory is a puzzling phenomenon

Please explain to me how in the world can D be the correct answer. The colloquial word 'buff' is the only thing in its favor. How could an article containing words such as apoptosis, nuclei, atrophy be meant for a general audience? I found all answers horrible, but B was the only neutral one without anything ridiculous in it, and so I chose it.

Thanks for your help!

PT79.S1.Q22 - consumer advocate: economists reason

I chose B without a second thought, also on the BR. I get why A, C, D do not work. I do understand that E is descriptively correct, but I still consider the claim in question to be a conclusion, therefore making B acceptable. Could you please persuade me that the claim is in fact not a conclusion?

This is my reasoning for its being a conclusion:

Willingness to pay is not proportional to need, since in the real world, some people simply cannot pay as much as others. As a result (of the fact that 'in the real world, some people simply...), a price increase will allocate goods to the people with the most money, not to those with the most need.

PT 79 Explanations

Hi!

Will all the explanations for PT 79 be available on this website sometime this week (i.e. before December 3rd)? Unfortunately I missed the BR session with JY.

Thanks

180Watch

It is my intention to take my 180Watch with me on test day, since I find it very useful when doing PTs. Can I be a 100% certain about being allowed to have it in the test room with me (I know there are some restrictions on the type of watch one can have)?

Thanks,

Piotr

PT 79

Dear 7sagers

Is there any way of obtaining the September LSAT (paper copy or an electronic document)? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Thanks,

Piotr

Is that the same one as with seven Mechanics/Inventors as the 3rd game? Sorry, I don't remember anything about watercolors, but it may well have been there. Also, I know that the London LSAT usually differs from the US one

I think I just got it. 'All irritating and beautiful cats are Persian cats' is not incorrect from the point of view of the stimulus, since 'all' is part of 'some'

Thanks a lot for helping!

Could you please comment on one of my attempts to understand the statement in answer E?

Let's assume that the statement 'Some irritating and beautiful cats are not Persian cats' is false (since, according to my understanding, that is the condition for E's being the correct answer). If it is false, then we have the following statement: 'No irritating and beautiful cats are not Persian cats' (No/none being the negation of some), which equals to 'All irritating and beautiful cats are Persian cats'. In light of the information contained in the stimulus, such a statement is false. Therefore, the statement 'Some irritating and beautiful cats are not Persian cats' cannot be false, since assuming that it is leads us to a statement that is incorrect.

I know that there is only one correct answer to question 14, and that is E. The reasoning that I have presented above must therefore be unsound. Could you please explain to me where I have made a mistake?

Many thanks

Choosing a test center

Are there any benefits of taking the LSAT in the US? More precisely, I'm considering either New York or Vancouver. I'll be taking the September 2016 test. Would the Canadian LSAT differ from the American one? thanks

PT13.S4.Q14 - some of the world's most beautiful cats

Dear 7sage community,

Could someone please explain to me why answer E is correct? I can justify eliminating answers A,B,C,D, but not picking E. Most of all, I cannot comprehend how to apply the 'can be false' principle to a statement containing 'some' and a negation ('not'). By now my brain hurts from all the theories I tried to convince myself of.

Thanks a lot!

December LSAT in London/ Experimental LG

Hi everyone,

I took the recent LSAT in London. I had two LG sections on my test, and I'm currently trying to work out which one of two was the experimental section. One was moderately difficult, I finished it without much of a problem. However, the 3rd and 4th games in the other LG were ridiculously difficult (similarly to the US LSAT with two LGs - weird coincidence). I remember the 3rd game involving seven Mechanics and Inventors (not a 100% sure about the name of the second group). I don't remember much else. Please let me know if you would happen to have any information on which of the two LG sections of the London LSAT was the real one, and which one was experimental.

Thanks a lot,

Piotr
