Could you message me as well please? Can't believe I missed it!
Thanks for asking this question! 169, similar situation in March. Also with games facepalm
Congrats on you score @! Jan was my first take and I got so nervous I got a 166. I think/hope Feb was better! Hope you are almost done with your journey!
It really depends on the curve for the test. If you don’t already listen to the powerscore podcast recaps of previous tests, you should. They explain this. For example, I took January and they said a -7 was a 170. I also took Feb and for my version of the test it was -10 for a 170. Granted these are predictions, but if true, you can kind of see how it’s not the same for every test.
So I took the LSAT in Jan (166), Feb (165), and March (169).
I obviously can't take it again until August when the LSAC cycle restarts.
My target school (the only one I can realistically go to geographically) has a median of 169. I am applying early there in the fall. My GPA is about .1 below their median. I spoke to someone in admissions and he said that 169 was great, but there was a possibility that their median could go up to 170, but that they won't know until August. He also said it doesn't matter how many times I take this infernal test because they only take the highest.
I'm forced to take a break now because of testing limits, but does anyone think it's worth putting myself through this a 4th time? My PTs were always higher, but I am a very nervous test taker and that test day penalty has been super real for me.
I don't want to 'be lazy' and give up, I just need some advice from others going through this! I'm open to any and all feedback, expect the kind that's mean. This test is mean enough :P
I have this question too!
Hi Steven,
Honestly RC and LG carried me through this whole process. My trouble area was LR, so I might not be a good source on RC improvement. I will say that low res summaries, letting main points light the way and keeping a close eye for any small indicator of author opinion were all extremely helpful.
I didn't take a diagnostic either! I was so stressed out that it would be really low because at the time, I didn't understand logic games. I thought a low score might be demoralizing. I'm glad I didn't! Got a 169 in March and am going again in August. I'm totally fine not knowing what my score would have been before.
I mean, this all kind of sounds like cheating. There are people who have actual conditions who actually need them. In no way am I saying those people don't deserve them. They do. But talking about getting accommodations, especially publicly, just to boost your score seems unethical. It really frustrates me when I see posts like this.
Thank you so much! I know that was a lot to type out. I really appreciate it!
Ah no, it was the teachers teaching different languages at 2 different schools
Since there's not an explanation posted yet, can anyone explain or point me to where Preptest 92 game 3 has already been explained? I feel so dumb, I know there's a major inference I'm missing. I didn't have problems with any other games on this exam! Gah! Any help would be so appreciated!!
I unfortunately took the LSAT 4 times, 166, 165, 169, and FINALLY a 176.
Should I write an addendum? I don’t even know what to say other than the truth, I set a goal, I didn’t reach my goal so I kept working until I met it. That doesn’t sound very compelling though?
I'm not sure about that. I only asked about August. I would recommend reaching out to him on Twitter though. He's very responsive.
I actually reached out to Dave at Powerscore to ask this question. He said he didn't think it would happen before the August test. Whomp.
For a principle question, let's say the stimulus was about a scenario and the correct answer choice was to identify the principle in that situation. Could the contrapositive be correct?
Ex: the principle describing the scenario is 'if you run a marathon, you will be tired'
In the answer choices, if one was 'if you're not tired, you didn't run a marathon,' would that be acceptable? Or does it have to be 'if you run a marathon, you will be tired'
Apologies if this is a dumb question!
Thanks y’all! I know what it feels like to be stuck and to study for so long. If you’re on this journey, just keep going!
