Trying to get those last few points

Hey Sage community, I'm looking for some advice to shave off a few more points, and hopefully start to wind my long LSAT journey to a close. I have been studying since mid-January and went from a diagnostic of 137 to a current average of 156, with BR being in the mid 160's. I am really proud of this jump and plan to study for as long as it takes to average in the low-mid 160's. I feel really close, but I still need to shave off a few points in all areas. Flaw questions are my worst in LR and analyzing phrases in the context is my worst for RC, so if anyone has advice in these areas it would be appreciated. When it comes to LG i'm still really slow and often miss five or six questions but get them all right during BR. I'm wondering if I should go back and do some more drilling for speed, or if that will just come with more PT's and confidence?

Any advice, success stories, or words of encouragement are helpful! Thanks in advance.

I don't know a whole lot, but I think you're on the right track. I have had huge gaps between PT scores and BR scores, but they slowly close the more tests I do. Most importantly, both those scores are trending upwards. Really taking the time to review why answer choices are right and why others are wrong has been hugely beneficial for me; it helps me to understand those question types better for future tests. As for choosing answers that were blatantly wrong (been there and often still there), it's probably the stress of timed conditions and a lack of confidence, just keep working and you'll be able to trust your instincts more and more.

I think you should stick with your process of careful critique and be sure to take the time for BR with EVERY single PT, it just goes to show how much more potential you have!

I’m interested if this is still open!

I agree with much of what has already been said. Maybe you can focus on smaller issues, for example, rather than looking at all of LR, look at a specific question type. Then take one of that question type and really analyze it. What is it saying? Where is the flaw/missing piece of the argument? What makes the right answer right and all the others wrong, see if you can put it into your own words. I find that if I can really understand just a single question, it gives me a better chance at other ones. I know you're on a schedule and thinking about the big picture, but small steps to set yourself up for bigger gains can help a ton.

You can do this, keep going and remember to celebrate the small wins!

Saved this post, I’m in the same boat and would love to hear from others.

Right now I’m planning on sticking to my regular schedule, but I’m also feeling a bit stressed between the looming test and working full time. The rest of this week will probably be drilling and single timed sections. Friday/Saturday I’m going to relax, then Sunday will probably be my last PT before the real thing the following weekend.
