Interested! Need to learn how to fool-proof RC before January!

Are we able to purchase and use the score cancellation option the day our scores are released? Or would we have had to purchase it in advance?

I usually feel pretty good about LG but some questions were weird, I usually score -0 but this definitely was not the case. RC passages all seemed extremely convoluted.

As someone who is currently anxious for tomorrow's test, one thing that really helped me was realizing that the questions I find toughest are: (1) entirely solvable with what you're given; and (2) if you feel like you're panicking, attempt the question once with as much speed as you would spend on any other question, pick an answer, flag it and move on. We know that all questions are worth the same number of points and chances are by pushing it out of your mind until the second read, you may spot something within a few seconds which you missed during the preliminary read. Also, don't psych yourself out on which question are "supposed to be easy" - we don't know, we can speculate but I wouldn't focus on that only to panic even more.

Help me believe this doesn't matter

For context I have taken the LSAT before and got a 160. For the last little while (~2 mos.) I have been consistently PTing between 165-168 and am taking the test in a couple of days. I took my last PT (PT 89) before Friday thinking it would help me keep my skills sharp for the next few days (with plans to review and drill leading up to Thursday), but I've suddenly dropped down to a 161. Needless to say I just went from confident to extremely nervous and upset.

Admissions Advice: LORs

Is there any harm to submitting an extra reference letter to schools if many of them only require 2? I have 2 LORs already, one of which is very strong, but the my 3rd referee is someone who I have also interracted with on a more personal level. My only worry is schools may not read all letters and will not review the letter that carries more weight to it.

Not sure if anyone has experience with this but if we apply in the Work/Life Experience category (other factors are given more weight than GPA), would we still be considered under the General Applicants category depending on the nature of your non-academic experience? It does not say anything on their website.

FYI I talked to Jon about the issue and they will be sending out an email to those that were registered for the webinar in a couple of days. Just keep an eye out for it!

@ the crystal ball is a live webinar hosted by Powerscore where they make predictions on what to expect for upcoming tests based on information they have from previous tests. It's worth following their blog or twitter to find out when the next one is so you can register for it. They also have a bunch of podcasts on their site/Spotify recapping tests and going over different sections with strategies on how to approach them. Definitely worth looking into as a supplementary source while studying!

@ refresh and keep trying to join! It's very glitchy, but if we're lucky it should work now.

Powerscore Crystal Ball

Does anyone know how to get back into the room? I was having audio issues and after installing Adobe it keeps saying User Limit Exceeded. Anyone know how to contact powerscore asap?

Q23: I selected AC A but I was unsure abut AC B. I found that what AC B was saying was true (pollen evidence shed more light onto the flax and cereal grain cultivation timelines contrary to what was believed before). But the reason I reluctantly eliminated it was the way the AC begins - I interpreted this to mean that the passage's main focus was historical documents and pollen evidence was a small consideration, whereas we know the opposite is true.

I'm not entirely sure how helpful this may be but I was in your position last year - completely burnt out due to work and I took the November test. Did absolutely terrible on it and I had already registered for the January test. Because I was so burnt out I took quite a bit of time off from studying but to my surprise my January test score ended up being the highest (although I will be re-taking regardless). I think at some point especially when you have so many things on your plate you need to take some time and just let your brain reset. Since you are already registered, I would definitely take a day or 2 to review/drill then take a full PT just to see how much your score has been affected and then go from there.

With that being said I definitely don't think waiting another cycle to apply is the worst thing. If you're really struggling with the burnout and cannot recover from it soon, just focus on self-care and get back to studying when you feel ready.

@ thanks! I definitely think I've been putting too much time towards reviewing PTs.

I also saw your post re: LR. PM'd you!

How much time to review PT?

As the October test is fast approaching, I want to maximize my time and increase my score by a few points. I have a general sense of what questions I'm getting wrong/am unsure of and the reasons why I get confused and choose the wrong AC. My question is how much time do people spend reviewing the PT and going through explanation videos? I'm finding that I try to thoroughly go through JY's explanations but I feel as if I'm losing precious time to drill and make sure my understanding of certain Q types is concrete.

Is there a transcript available for this?

As someone who has taken the test a few times and will be re-taking in October as well, I sympathize with your need to panic now. I would say keep diligently studying for the October test so you maximize the next 5 weeks, but register for the November (or even January) test as a backup if you really want to apply for the 2023 cycle. But at the end of the day it doesn't matter when you get into school, as long as you do (granted it is what you want).

Premise and Conclusion indicators

In the CC we're told that the terms For/Since/Because are premise indicators but the conclusion either preceeds or follows the section. Is this the case for all LR questions MP questions? Or are there exceptions?

LSAT Quiet Space?

Has anyone had experience with requesting a quiet space for the test? Do they just reimburse for a hotel or do they have us go to a specific testing centre?

Help - October 2022 LSAT

Any specific tips on how to improve significantly for the October 2022 test?

I took the test in January hoping it would be my last time but only scored a 160 (my GPA is lower so I would need a higher LSAT score). Today is the first time I got back into studying and took a PT (untimed) to see how much of what I studied previously I have lost and ended up scoring a 156. I know my weak areas are LR and Reading Comprehension but I was wondering if anyone had specific tips or strategies to improve scores on those 2 sections.

If you have the option to submit your application now and add a LOR later, absolutely submit. But like PatBakk said, ask someone else as well. It's better to have an extra LOR than to not have enough assuming your coworker completes it.

I actually just did this game! You're right, L can never be 6 because it's a leader. The rule reads if F6 then J3,
