I was " angry" at Q 20 because I had to eliminate all AC's twice. Then I realized that nothing else could be answered from this stem other than what A says. There is NO connection to the passage but the stimulus states " given the info in the passage". That was a massif trap. We are not even connected with the passage in this Q20. There is no " given the info in the passage" that can answer any AC correctly. NONE!! If we are informed of the amount of time allotted to a program, we can only conclude how much access people have to this program. Answer A.
it's a flaw similar to false dichotomy except, it's a false " uno-chotomy". I just made this up but it's what it is. Can't have an alternative explanation. E.
Q 25 and Q 26 can be entirely answered correctly by focusing on structure only.
Q: 25 asks us to guess about what D is most likely to agree. We need to jump in his mind and guess what he is most likely to agree with. The answer needs to be soft, vaguely correct ( not contradicted by the passage) and certainly not prescriptive ( no shoulds allowed!)→ B and D are out, off the bat! A has a judgement ( too often) that we cannot possibly project onto D. C is descriptively inaccurate. We get to E by POE: soft, vaguely correct and not prescriptive.
Q 26: Asks us to jump in the mind of the Legal Positivists and do the same thing. All the " ought", " never" and "ultimate" are out off the bat! We are left with D vs E. Both are talking about " jurists"... D is soft. E is extreme. Even if I have no clue about content, I pick D and I move on bc I know that structurally, D is the correct answer.
Q 16: I spent time debating between D ( out of place- I had to double check 2 times that they do not appear in the passage until later) and A. But then, A is completely wrong because it's NOT about the biological history, but about the Determinist Biologists = Evolutionary Biologists and this made me pick D without a hesitation. A is DESCRIPTIVELY wrong.
I just reviewed his paintings and they are absolutely LIVELY and gorgeous! Thank you for introducing me to such amazing art.
such a great explanation for such a hard Q!!!
" the suffering the critics claim" ←s→great suffering!
: Conclusion: did not cause suffering
Flaw: does not give evidence for suffering in the conclusion! Dang this was tricky! Stick to the Conclusion and pay attention to referential indicators: what suffering? the one the critics claim=/= not just suffering!
1/ Tricky shift of terms: Taxes vs Property Taxes...
M opposes T ( not PT!)←s→Jane opposes Downtown.
P supports F of S.←s→ Denise wants a penthouse.
Conclusion: They are opposite each other regarding Property Taxes←s→Jane and Denise are opposite each other regarding downtown.
Yak!!
Not sure why you chose D over B. It could be either. This question has been removed from many teaching courses. I believe that the 2 answers are correct.
Q 8. Main Point
A is correct . it describes what inclusive fitness theory is.
B is wrong. "As variable as the purpose they serve" huh?. I already know of 2 mechanisms of recognition and yet the purpose is one: recognition of a relative. ( the opposite of cancel culture)
Q 15. Answer C= classic alternative explanation that is by definition a weakener. E does not address kin recognition→out of scope.
IllustratED= Most strongly SupportED.
No argument here. No judgement here. We only need to illustrate something that the stimulus describes. MSS needs weak language/ soft answer D. The challenger B is too strong and is not supported by the stimulus.
*Most A's are B's
If B likely A*
Match the flaw. Ignore the added details as long as they do not interfere with this reasoning. The stem asks for a similar reasoning, not for similar details. Easy to answer when you know the reasoning as above.
"Typically reverts" means that we now know what was typical. Revert is a verb that shows we go back to the previous state. That means you already assume that B was first. Circular reasoning.
SA
The 4 wrong answers have new words not found in the Conclusion. Public, good novel, bla bla. The Only correct answer B closes the gap between style and money in the CONCLUSION. We have a gap and B closes it. FOCUS ON THE CONCLUSION.
I missed the fact that he actually did give the proper info even though he misunderstood the question. I got it right by POE.
FOLLOW THE ARROW.
Conclusion: If NOT older than 6--> NO pets. [ If pets--> older than 6]
Answer E: If pets--> Older than 6 ( with the feelings etc connected to age 6 and above)
Answer B: IF. children older than 6--> Pets. WRONG ARROW.
30 seconds: AC E is correct. New word in the conclusion CIGARETTE. Only D and E have that word. Watch out for the direction of the arrow. CONCLUSION: IF smoke--> does not care. Counterpositive
IF care-->Does not smoke. BINGO! E.
30 seconds: New word in the conclusion: complete knowledge. Only Answers C and D have that word. C is a strong AC=> SA. D is very weak/ not a SA answer.
You are covering the answers with bold large letters throughout the entire video! How do we work/ think/ read with such videos???
@administration
Just fix it.
The easy way. Conclusion has a new word. Explain consciousness. Only B has that word. Go fish for explain consciousness and move on. If time is available, double check with a diagram. SA are so easy because we only need to GO FISH for the new word. FIND THE CONCLUSION'S NEW WORD/ PREDICT/ FISH => SA
The easy way. CONCLUSION: it's all about BITTER.
Only one answer is about BITTER!! All the rest is a DISTRACTION. THIS IS SA. We need super strong answer about Bitter but WAIT! There is only one choice that even talks about BITTER! D is a given.
Easy explanation. SHIFT OF WORDS! The premises are about NOVELS/ the Conclusion is about BOOKS. The numbers and letters Z and 1991/ 1992 are a DISTRACTION! Focus on the conclusion ONLY! BOOKS? We know nothing about BOOKS. Answer B is a given!
My short cut: I focus on the NO's first: G→no I. T + no EB→G→no I
Attack the AC's first that have NO in their answer: B vs D
B: descriptively inaccurate. out.
D: T + no EB→no I
Why the no's first? Because it's a MBT question. All the " most" and SOME are out.
2 minutes.
9. AC A is verbatim from the text. Memo to self: when I see " according to the passage" go fish for verbatim or close synonyms. Grammar was wrong in B!! Yikes.
Q 15. AC A is about one of the obstacles( sounds and symbols) . AC B is a principal about preserving a language. Read the stem...
Q 14. This is about the written word matching the spoken word. I completely misread the stem. So, once we know what this is about, AC A is naturally the answer. Memo to self: read the stem carefully until the END.
Q15. A vs C. I did not see STRICTLY in C. This was the key word to get the correct answer choice A. When down to 2 AC's read word by word and do not " think" what makes more sense. All the traps are based on this skill. Thinking vs Fact. The entire LAW is based on this skill. I might think that caries is the main point, but seriously, what is strictly agricultural? None of the passage talks about it.
