I used the LG Bible book as a supplement to this course and it's worked wonders. I'm getting -0 to -3 so I would recommend that.

It's like that for me in the RC. It's so frustrating. I get -5 to -7 in LR and -0 to -3 in LG, but end up with -9 to -15 in RC.

I agree. Games should be first because they'll introduce you to the formal logic that will be helpful in LR as well.

LR should come next. Once you start "getting used to" the questions and answers it all turns into just understanding the words you read.

RC is something very learnable if you can begin reading tough material. I recommend browsing Reddit and reading the articles that tend to make it to the front page as they're usually science, law, and humanity type readings.

Have you taken any PT's outside of the diagnostic?

I really hope so. Still have plenty of time till Dec. 7th to make scoring in this range a habit.

Okay, here's an update that really really surprised me.

I just took PT 58 TIMED and BR'd it.

LR: -12 (I can say that 8 of those were because I misread a word as opposed to thinking illogically, e.g. I read deference as difference on the elders and young adults question -.-)

RC: -3 (This really caught me off guard. I decided to speed read through the passages and out of all 27 questions only referred back to the passage for 3 questions. I also was familiar with two of the passages in terms of subject matter so that may have helped.)

LG: -1 (The one I got wrong was due to overlooking a rule in the first game. I finished the first 3 games in 17 minutes giving me the remaining 18 minutes to do the last one, which in my opinion was the hardest one and took all of those 18 minutes)

LR2: -6

Timed Score: 162 BR Score: 166

I was able to finish every section on time for the first time in all PT tests I take. I credit this to taking PT 57 un-timed. I feel like when I did it untimed I really fleshed out each question and its type.

My target score is 155 because that's the median to my target school, but 160+ would guarantee some pretty nice grants or maybe even the possibility of going to another school I have in mind should I get something along these lines on test day.

What do you guys make of this? My average was 155 after taking PT 56 with my highest score being a 156. Now on PT 58 I got a 162.

This gives you only four possibilities. I think I did this right, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Fastest to slowest:

V-W-Z-T

V-Z-W-T

Z-V-W-T

Z-W-V-T

So basically:

V/Z-(W/Z/V)-(W/Z/V)-T

What the heck did I just read... -.-

So I've been averaging about 155 on timed PTs and decided to go really hard on the studying this past week. I took PT 57 un-timed today an got a 167 (far above my target score).

I realized that the reason I would score a 155 is because I would fall for a lot of the trap answers under timed circumstances. My question to you 7Sagers is what can I do to get as close as possible to that 167 (untimed) in a timed situation by the December test?

Average

LG: -0 to -4

LR: -9 to -13

RC: -7 to -12

PT 57 (untimed)

LG: -0

LR1: -5

LR2: -3

RC: -7

I would say take some older ones. Though some questions may not be in your direct memory, you may recognize them when you actually take the PT. This won't give you an accurate score. Some of the older ones are actually a little bit harder than recent ones so you should give them a try.

And on LR and LG? Seems like you're struggling a lot on the RC. What's your strategy for marking up the passages?

Take an untimed test. You'll catch your mistakes and sharpen your decision making skills. I wrote about it on a discussion post a while ago. An untimed test gave me confidence in the timed tests I took after.

I would take a practice test untimed. When I did so, it improved my confidence and timed score immensely. When you take them untimed, you have time to think about your decisions making it a great tool to sharpen those decisions.

If you don't mind me asking, what did you get per section? That would be more helpful to see what needs working and whether or not there could be improvement.

I would spend it doing the most recent PT's. Before the December one, I took the 5 most recent PT's and thoroughly blind reviewed them afterwards.

You can get into VERY good schools with a 175+ regardless of GPA. Some want that LSAT median boost and will accept you in no time. Some of these may even be T14.

I would recommend getting the Logic Games Bible as a supplement to 7Sage. It's a really good book for $30 on Amazon. I give it most of the credit for getting -0 to -3 on the games.

It seems to be a trend to unsubscribe from this sub after getting your score. I'm going to be staying here to help people out and answer questions regarding the LSAT.

A little about my journey. I had originally planned for the June 2013 LSAT but changed it to October after PT'ing a 148 2 weeks prior. After reading every Powerscore book, I was able to bump up to a 153-4 but that wasn't what I was aiming for. I was aiming for something in the 160's. I thought I had plateaued because every score from PT 30-45 was in that range. It was frustrating.

I then decided to reschedule once more to December. It was do or die for me. I was recommended 7Sage, and will recommend it to anyone, especially if you're doing Powerscore as well. I was able to score in the 160's 3 weeks before the December 7th for the first time. To make sure it wasn't a "kag" I kept taking PT's. Ended up staying in the low 160's for all of them. I was satisfied and confident as I walked into test day.

Just got my score a few hours ago, and am extremely proud to say that I scored in the 160's, which is what I was aiming for. I ended up getting -0 on the LG section, my first section of the exam.

Wanted to give a huge thanks to 7Sage & the community. You guys answered a bunch of things I was curious about considering the test. Sure I didn't get in the 170's, but I did improve drastically from my PT in before the June exam. (Even more from my diagnostic which was a 139)

TL;DR Don't lose hope if you're a future test taker. Improvement is possible with dedication and hard work. Don't listen to anyone that says a 20 point improvement from your diagnostic is impossible because that's BS.
