Is there any way you can not write this exam? I'm sorry if that's a careless suggestion; I don't mean it that way (I'm not far enough into prepping and haven't done any research yet on changing test dates etc so I don't know if it's even possible) but it sounds like you already know you're not ready yet to re-take the exam (?). Josh's lesson on what to do after completing the CC is very detailed and seems like a sound strategy that you could employ to raise your score -- I think if you can put all of that into practice your score will improve (especially since you're already so motivated and dedicated) but unfortunately it will take more time. Best of luck to you!!

I echo what the others have said. I found I was struggling with feeling like I wasn't completing material quickly enough. I've learned that rather than trying to fit in big chunks of study time, I do what I can when I can during the workweek. If that means only doing a few questions (or just one!) during my breaks at work, so be it. I will still be making more progress than waiting until I can study for a couple of hours continuously. I do as much as I can in the evenings but not everyday -- if my brain is fried from work then I will take the night off so I can feel fresh and ready to keep going the next day. Then on weekends I can spend more time reviewing, but making sure to have a life also! Working a demanding full-time job and trying to study for this test is no joke, but we will succeed!

CONGRATS on finishing the CC!! If you feel you still recall the CC info, I would just take a PT under strict conditions to see how much you've improved and where your weaknesses now are. I don't think there's any harm in reviewing the CC before taking a PT, if you feel you need.

I felt this way too and delayed seriously studying properly for too long because of the fear. Finally I just realized that I wanted to take the diagnostic to see where my true starting point was. I think it's valuable as an indicator of how far from our goal we are and how much time we might need to study before getting where we want to be. It really is just a number and not a reflection of how well you can or will do on the test in the future after studying.

I'm not far into the CC yet but what I have been doing is printing out every question I struggle with so I can review it later. What I have noticed so far when reviewing these questions is that I mostly get them right at a later time after I've let the concepts sink in. If I get them wrong on the review session, I print them again and keep them in a pile to review again later. I also go back to the lessons and practice questions.

I think you're being too hard on yourself. It's good you know what your strengths and weaknesses are; you can work with them and not let them control you. Given that you feel better with a fully scheduled day, I would start by scheduling your day. Treat studying like a job and have set hours that you will go to the library/coffee shop/anywhere and study for that time period. Then schedule your lunch break, add in a workout in the morning/afternoon/evening and schedule in something you enjoy as well (shop for a couple hours/get a new part-time job that gives you a few hours/anything you like). I know it's hard to feel trapped in a house that isn't helping you (or worse: making you feel bad) but hopefully it's temporary. If you spend most of the day outside keeping your own self-created schedule, you can minimize the amount of time you spend under that influence. You can do it!!
