Fellow parents, how ya'll doing?

I have a 3 year old and have been studying since April. My husband is an RN and had Covid patients all summer, so that was difficult to manage. How are ya'll doing with time management and studying? Much love to my fellow moms/dads/guardians out there. Good luck, you can do it! (3(3(/p)

I don't think it was hostile. I was expressing my disbelief that someone could possibly think that on a test as rigorous as the LSAT that requires high verbal and logical skill for mastery would be allowed to use Google to cheat. This is a test of words and reasoning. Why would they allow you to look up a word? Many of us have busted our asses to prepare for this test for months (some other people I've seen on this forum have studied for a year+) and you come on here and have the audacity to ask if you can use Google to look up words. You insult.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume you're in your mid to early twenties. As someone who is married, has a child, is in their early thirties, and embarking on this as a second career...don't quit. 158 is not that bad. You can get into a decent regional school if you want. Lots of people that I know that have gone to mid-range or regional schools can have very lucrative careers in law. I know of people who have done well for themselves in 3rd tier or 4th tier schools and I know people who are miserable as shit that went to Stanford, UT,etc. PERSPECTIVE. It is all about how WELL you do IN law school. Nobody cares about your LSAT score once you are a lawyer. Again, you can have a good career and make good money with an average LSAT. Also, TAKE A BREAK!!! You're burnt out. Scale back, set out about 4 hours a day and then focus on your life the rest of your day.

Are you for real? With the amount of ethical dilemmas LSAT problems pose it didn't cross your mind that this is unethical and constitutes cheating? Or do you just not care?

I hade something similar happen and also have to retest. I had multiple interruptions and proctors throughout my test in like every section. There's nothing you can really do other than make sure you have a strong Wi-Fi, make sure your computer/tablet is plugged in and pray your proctor has adequate Wi-Fi or equipment. Good luck.

Don't use the 7sage "curriculum" as your only source of learning (I'm just assuming that's what you're doing). I did the PowerScore program several years back and the 7Sage material/format is very similar (hmmm...) right down to the questions and drills. Having used PowerScore (the class series not PS Bibles), Kaplan, and the Mike Kim materials I've found PowerScore gave the most comprehensive LG training while 7sage helped with supplemental explanations and breakdowns of questions for LG types. My suggestion to you is to go back and relearn how to do the various LG game types and then drill. It also helps to go back and BR. When you find your weak areas then pick and choose what games you want to use the "Fool Proof Method" on. Within the past week I had a 10 point jump (overall 18 pt jump since April) because I went back over my notes and previous materials, targeted LG/LR where I was weakest, and took a week-long break. Sometimes it helps to backtrack and start fresh.

Target your week games/logical reasoning and figure out what kind of mistakes you are making. When you test get your head in battle mode and try to keep those errors/pitfalls in the back of your mind.

Use other materials because if you aren't getting the fundamentals no amount of the FPM will get you where you need to be.

Practice. If you have to do FPM do it like 2-3 times. Maximum 5. More than that is just fucking overkill. I'm sorry but you're going to burn out and waste time when you could be moving on to other areas of weakness and other game scenarios.

LSAT code for "shy" is "less mobile." Once I figured it out then it all became clear.

I'm about to take this m-fer and my nerves are shot. I didn't know our power could go out. I'm in San Antonio in a hotel...so hopefully they have generator. I would think LSAC would give us an opportunity to retest in the week. I called Friday to ask what options they would give us if the hotel had shitty WiFi or other things beyond our control. I was told they would give us another date to take it on. Try not to worry and good luck!

Anyone else in Texas taking the LSAT today? They said our power could go out this afternoon and I'm scared its going to happen during my test. Does anyone know what to do if that happens?

My psychiatrist constantly tells me that ADHD cannot be cured by medications alone. If you are already taking medications, you should focus on improving your habits. Mindfulness meditation has been shown to increase focus and concentration for every one. I used to practice it daily when I had other issues. You need to eliminate distractions in your room for one. However, if after 7 months of studying and you are still getting 150, you might want to reconsider your career choice.

What kind of Dbag comment is this? As a former special education teacher, I can say that if this person had a 23 pt jump in 7 months WITHOUT accommodations then this is a significant improvement. Who are you to tell someone that they can't do better or that they should reconsider their career choice? You have no clue about what this person is capable of.

@ Don't listen to anybody and do your thing. You have improved significantly. Please get testing accommodations and start PTing with accoms if you haven't done so already. One trick I used to give my students is to have my students stand while they were reading or working. This helped with my kids (high school and middle school) that could not sit in a desk for long periods of time. Also, take mini-breaks between learning new material or reviewing. I would say break after 30 min of work/study. Break your content into chunks so it is not as overwhelming. Also, you need to use the analytics on here and go back over content if you haven't done so already and spend about a week with just one concept. Everyone plateaus, so try not to feel discouraged. I had a plateau in the lower 150s in October, took a week off, and came back rested to make 160, I plateaued again and broke 165. If you have ADHD I'm going to assume you talk a lot, so try to talk about the concept you are learning with others because teaching/verbalizing to someone else is the highest method of mastery. Good luck and you should be proud of yourself!!!!
