Hi all,

I am a little over 5 years out of college and am working on my resume. I have plenty of experience from my full time work to include on my resume, so I am wondering--- should I include information about internships I held in college? While my college experiences were meaningful in the way they lead me to my current career, I don't think they were more meaningful than the experiences I have had since then.

Will admissions officers wonder why I left out any college years experiences? Also hoping to keep my resume to one page.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Hi all,

For a school that you REALLY want to go to, how many optional statements would you do? All of them?

In my case, I am applying to Penn (I'm a bit above the 25 percentile for LSAT and GPA, so it is a reach for me). The school offers 4 optional essay topics: 1) standard DS, 2) 'Why X school?', 3) question about teamwork, 4) typical addenda question.

I am already planning to submit #1 & #2 in addition to my PS. The instructions say 'You may answer more than one essay topic if you so choose.' Of course no reason to answer #4 if unnecessary, but is it bad form not to come up with something for #3?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Hi all,

I am pretty consistently getting 4 wrong questions per section for each section on all the PTs I have been working on. When I review the questions I got wrong, I am able to understand why the answer I selected is incorrect and why the correct answer is right. The questions I get wrong are not consistently the same type of question. Anyone have suggestions for the best way to hone my skills/ drill myself in these last few weeks ahead of the September test?

~Thanks in advance!

Thanks all! I feel better-- I was mortified when I realized what I did yesterday

@ did you do this for all schools you applied to? Or only schools that state they offer interviews by on a case-by-case basis/ don't mention interviews at all on their admissions pages?

I am wondering if it would reflect poorly to request an interview from a school that explicitly states in their Admissions FAQ they do not hold interviews as part of the admissions process, or that interviews are invite only.

Hi guys--

I submitted applications for two target schools yesterday and noticed today that I made a very stupid typo in the second paragraph (duplicated word... I wrote 'are are'). I read through my essay more than 5 times before submitting each and didn't notice this! I don't think there are any other issues with the optional statement and my PS is good to go.

Do you think it is worth it to email admissions and ask them to review an updated version or should I just let this one go rather than bringing more attention to it?

Thanks for your thoughts!

@ I applied to seven schools at the end of December and two more the first week of January. I've heard back from three schools (2 accepts,1reject).

Out of the six I am waiting on, four have a status of 'completed' (Georgetown included :)) and 2 are 'under review'/ 'ready for review'.

@ I'll definitely checkout the TLS thread!

application status - 'under review' necessary?

Hi all,

In your experience, do all schools with a status checker switch your application status to 'under review' or something similar before sending you an admissions decision? Or do some simply mark your application complete and then eventually send you their decision?

Just trying to brace myself for who I might expect to hear back from soon.

@ thank you! This is really helpful. I only submitted on January 10, so it wasn't too long ago, but I'll at least start putting together a Why X letter/essay (I chose a different optional essay to submit with my application).

Preemptive LOCI?

Hi all,

Wondering what your thoughts are on sending a preemptive LOCI. I was rejected from my first choice school (which I applied to ED 2).

Does it make sense to send my second choice school a LOCI or LOCI-like statement stating that I would accept immediately if I were accepted there, prior to hearing back any decision from them re: acceptance/ waitlist/ rejection?

Will law schools and/or LSAC consider a GPA differently based on what institution it comes from?

I went to an UG liberal arts college known for rigorous coursework/ harsh grade deflation policies (i.e. in a class of 30+ people, only 2 students receive A's). Sometimes I was one of A's in the class, but often I was an A-/ B+. My GPA isn't bad, but I am wondering how it will stack up next to a higher GPA from a less difficult institution.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I've been working in the art world for the last 6 years since undergrad-- I help people based in the US buy and sell art in Asia. I originally went into the field because I being able to physically handle art, but over time I realized the part of my job I enjoy most is working with my clients to put together a plan for their collections. I am hoping to capture that part of my current job, along with a more stable career path in a career as attorney. I've submitted my applications and am hoping to start law school in Fall 2018!

@ I ended up getting waitlisted at that school before I submitted anything. So I will be submitting a LOCI later this month/ early next month anyways!
