Hey guys! My score on recent PTs has been swinging up and down like crazy! Like in a matter of one or two weeks I've been at a 171, then a 159, then a 169. Im literally including a link to a photo so you all can see how big these swings are: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11fxiUjcEJUYNQqNxgoCv6rDzlV3EXI0w/view?usp=sharing

If it were only 4 or 5 points I wouldnt care so much... but Im hoping to test in October and want to control for this variation more! The score difference between my last two tests is literally 159-169. What on earth?!

Has anyone experienced this? Any tips to combat this or at least understand what it means?

thank you!!!

I can't say with confidence because I'm actually not as far along in my studies as you are, so definitely take with a grain of salt***, but it seems like timing is something that comes with repetition and truly understanding questions to a point where you can recognize similar question structures across sections/tests before you even jump into the actual question.

So it sounds like doing full tests & full blind review would be really effective for you if you are making the most of every moment you have blind reviewing. Because then you're being exposed over and over to the same structures. I'd be nervous to stop focusing on LR just because of some (really!) good scores on a PT. I think that LR is so foundational for the other sections so it can't hurt to be even stronger on those.

Question -- how long did it take you to get through of all CC? Did you go in order?

I am in your boat! I spent one week really focusing on games. I only did one PT that week. The next week, I kept focusing on games but managed to squeeze in another. I went from -8ish on games to -2 on this last PT! And they were silly mistakes. I'm feeling really happy :)

Here's how I set up my week:

Mon: Choose 4 whole sets from various dates (so 16 games total.... honestly this was too much so I think 3sets/12 games is fine). Work through these games WITHOUT a time limit.

Tues: Watch game videos and follow along while doing the work along JY and anticipating what his next move is. I found printing out the actual games made this easier.

Wed: Run games with normal speed

Thurs: Run games with normal speed again. Check to make sure that your set up and inferences for all games are as thorough as humanly possible!!! I made a point to check inferences on this day.

Fri: Maybe run games again with -3% speed if you're feeling like it, or do a PT, or old games.

Of course there's no need to follow this plan! I just wanted to share my own example in case you're wondering what you should do when you "focus on games".

I personally never liked running the same games in the same day, which is why I picked a LOT to do over and over throughout the week so that I wasn't just memorizing answer choices lol

Best of luck! We are gonna crush october flex

Woah, okay. So is the test taking place across multiple days and times? How do I know what time/day I'll be taking mine?

Sorry I can't figure out how to reply to you, @ ... not sure if this comment will reach you. Eventually, a week or so before the test (maybe a bit more?), LSAC will send out an email with a code that will allow us to go online and schedule ourselves. Its important to keep an eye out for that email because I believe slots can fill up.

I was originally signed up for August Flex, but at the last minute pushed it back to this test. So I still got the email and everything for August's Flex administration. Thats how I know!
