Final Sprint

Hey all, as tomorrow marks the first of November, I was wondering how the other November test-takers are spending the last 2.5 weeks before the big day. I'm trying to avoid burnout, and am taking a PT every two days. At this point, I'm almost struggling to find motivation in the face of the fact that the next 2.5 weeks cannot make or break my score. How are you guys staying motivated?

How many PTs?

Hello, with just about a month left until the November exam, I'm taking 2-3 prep tests every week and will have taken 25-30 PTs by the exam week, but I'm reading that a lot of the test takers took every available exam in the market (some even twice). I'm pretty consistently hitting high 160s and early 170s on my PTs but am concerned that I am not taking advantage of all the resources available. Generally, do scores improve with more PTs? Should I be concerned about the fact that I will have taken less than 30 PTs?

Thanks @oshun1! I started taking 70PTs and my score went back up to the normal range! Looks like PT 67 really hit all my weak spots.

Do you guys remember whether the LR section with question about a girl sending her application to be considered for an award, and mailing her application within 10 days was an experimental or the actual??

It was real, I had 2 LRs and seen this question.

I remember this one because I thought that amazon prime and the express option was totally going to screw people up

Thanks!! Also wondering if you recall a question about a study done with two groups, one group given a self-help medical book and the other without!!

Hi all! Again, thank you so much for your kinds words. I just heard back from Berkeley, and it looks like I'll be going to Berkeley with a full ride (BLOS). That seals the deal for me. My boyfriend and I will give it our best shot with long distance. Again, thank you so, so much for all your help and a HUGE thanks to 7sage.

Had LR-RC-LR-LR-LG

Did anyone have an LR with parallel flaw for the last question? I'm hoping that it was my experimental.

OP, I will probably be going (short, 2 hours away) long-distance on the East Coast. We've done it before for one year, two different continents. A lot of people here are talking about how everyone they knew broke up doing distance and law school. Which is very possible! But it's also true that for many people, distance during law school is unavoidable and can even work. I found this thread on Reddit super heartening.

Hawaiihi, this is too funny. I follow r/lawschooladmissions religiously and saw that post too. You're very lucky to be with someone who is willing to make it work through the distance.

Hey @ why do you say Powerscore LG methods are the worst? I've heard some good things about the LG Bible, and the reviews online are all good.

I was thinking of buying the book for some additional strategy and practice. Is this not a good idea?

Yeah, the online reviews led me to Powerscore when I first started out too. To their credit, I actually think the LR Bible is pretty solid (as far as the books go). The LG Bible is just such a different story though. Rather than teach the underlying, universal mechanics, they focus on classifying games into something like over a dozen exact subtypes. This breaks the universal principles into many unique ones which is particularly problematic for grouping games. I also take issue with a lot of their representations which I think reflect on a broad lack of understanding of the importance of representing information in an intuitive, efficient, and useful way.

Most people are going to find the 7Sage approach much more intuitive and develop to a much higher level much more quickly than they would with Powerscore.

Thank you, will start by reviewing JY's videos on LGs! Really appreciate your insights!!

@ @.ashley92 @ @. Thanks so much! I generally struggle with time on all sections. I score around -8/10 for LR; -5/6 for RC and my weakness would be LG (it really ranges from -3 to -10 depending on the game). I've bought and gone over the Powerscore LG Bible but I still struggle with time on games. Any suggestions on how to deal with timing? Without time constraints, I score around 169-170s.

Thanks everyone so much for your kind words & thoughtful advices. You guys are the reason of voice that I needed. I know I need to prioritize my career ambitions before my young relationship, but it's easier said than done. One of the reasons I'm hesitant to venture to NYU is because I'm not exactly sure what kind of law I want to practice--leaning towards Big Law to pay off debt but still unsure. I'm going to wait on my scholarship packages to really start weighing my options since NYU sticker price is hefty even for its great reputation. I'm also a Berkeley BLOS finalist candidate, so we'll see how that goes. If there's anything I could do to help out (reading personal statements, why x's, application process for any of the schools that I mentioned) I'd be more than happy to help out--please feel free to message me.

I always used the 7sage proctor app for PTs. Also, it helped on the test day to think of the exam as PT 86 instead of the actual thing.

Hi all,

I turned to this community after hitting a hard plateau upon taking a rushed 2-month Blueprint course. I started off with 154 and could not get beyond early 160s. Realizing that I wasn't where I wanted to be, I delayed my LSAT and studied on this platform for 2 more months and took the November LSAT, ending up with a 168. Since then, I've somewhat unexpectedly gotten into incredible school including NYU, Berkeley, Michigan, Duke, Cornell, GULC, UCLA, and USC but I'm heavily leaning towards UCLA because: 1) I want to eventually settle and practice in SoCal 2) my boyfriend is skeptical of LDRs. By the way, I cannot recommend the 7Sage unlimited edit package enough, the editors helped me through the whole process from brainstorming to polishing the final draft. UCLA is an incredible law school, and was definitely my target, but I'm reluctant to let go of these incredible opportunities at T-14. Am I making a smart decision by foregoing T-14, and will this decision impact my marketability as a lawyer in the long-run? I'm desperately trying to be rational, but am being pulled in million directions. What would you guys do in my shoes?

Postponed the LSAT, now what?

Hello. I took a two month, in-person course at Blueprint for the September exam but decided that I hadn't reached my personal LSAT ceiling just yet. I'm familiar with most of the concepts, but now am a bit lost as to how I should make use of the remaining 10 weeks to improve my score from low to mid 160s (163-165) to high 160s or 170. Should I focus on timed exams? Stick to the study schedule generated by 7Sage? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hello, I decided to postpone the September exam and have been taking 2 PTs a week, starting with the older exams. Since a month ago, I've seen a significant score increase from the early 160s to 170s. I've been scoring 170-174 on the past 5 exams (PT 41-58), but today I gave PT 67 a shot and my score dropped back down to the low 160s. I think it may be because I'm not as familiar with the nuances of the newer exams? Maybe the nerves? I noticed that I missed the easier, single digit questions for the last LR section, which is usually not the case. If anyone has advice regarding transitioning from the older exams to the newer ones, I'd very much appreciate it. Thank you.

Definitely worth the upgrade as you get access to JY's explanations to all the PT questions.
