How can you be certain that volitional powers require no thinking? All the stimulus indicates is that a computer's thinking ability more closely approximates human thinking than animals. Isn't it a leap in logic to suggest volitional powers require no thinking? Can someone bridge the gap for me?

You should use "unless" as the sufficient indicator here.
1. A necessary condition of becoming a jedi is possessing extraordinary discipline.
2. Becoming Jedi>Extraordinary Discipline
3. /Extraordinary Discipline>/Become Jedi
4. If one does not have extraordinary discipline then one cannot become a jedi.
