Allison thanks for the explanation!! I don't know why when I did the lessons I didn't get what PSA was but now I do so thank you!

I want to practice PSA questions do you know where I could find a list of them? Or maybe everywhere else they lump it into the assumption category...

Thanks! The workaround still didn't work. How weird. But I logged into another computer and was able to access the link. Just bought the PT and excited to have an addtl month access :)

Hello! Here are mine two.

MBT

Step 1: What did you read in the stimulus and what do you know on the basis of that reading?

Must Be True answers must be based on information in the stimulus or the direct result of combining statements in the stimulus. Be wary of new information that is not explicitly in the stimulus.

Correct answer choices:

1. Paraphrased answers are answers that restate a portion of the stimulus in different terms. When these answers mirror the stimulus, they are correct.

2. Combination answers result from combining two or more statements in the stimulus.

Incorrect answer choices:

1. Exaggerated answers take information from the stimulus and then stretch that information to make a broader statement that is not supported by the stimulus.

2. Are A.C. that could possibly occur or are likely to occur, but are not certain to occur.

3. The Reverse Answer is attractive because it contains familiar elements from the stimulus, but it rearranges those elements to create a new, unsupported statement.

SA

Sufficient assumption questions contain an argument that is, by itself, not fully complete. Unless we add more to the argument, it’s not going to be fully valid.

Your task in answering these is to find a piece of information (an additional premise) that does make it valid.

To form a good pre-answer on a sufficient assumption question, think about what is both a necessary and sufficient assumption for the conclusion to be valid. This is forming a bridge to the conclusion.

Correct answer choice:

1. That, if true, would definitely, 100%, beyond all shred of a doubt, make the conclusion valid.

This is a great idea. It will be good to have this to review before I go ahead with my first PT. I can help with a question type or two.

There is the LSAT Analytics feature available. You plug in your PT answers and it spits out what questions you got wrong based on the type and how common they are. Then labels the difficulty of each question along with a video explanation.

Hi Anne,

Thanks for the advice. I will look over more MC Q's before I get more into the next lessons. How much more should I practice? Before I had seen your message though I did move on and did MSS last night and got 4/6. The two I got wrong was the airplane cabin air/photons and rhodopsin.

The airplane one I needed to have made a small assumption but I didn't. The photons one was talking about circular motion and chg. of temperature in the passage the right answer included the words hot and cold which were not in the passage. So when I read hot and cold I thought it was silly. BUT I needed to have deduced that more circular motion causes an inc. in temp. thus it amounts to heat and then vice versa would be cold. If I had done that then the answer choice with the words hot and cold would have made sense!

Thanks for this list. I will use it in the near future for my studying.

I finished my first quiz of the course on MC. I got 8/10 and did it in 12.29min. I missed the 2 due picking the wrong conclusion (no indicators). This is easy if you can find the conclusion in the stimulus, all you have to do is find it paraphrased as an answer. I got the rest right so not to think I can't identify a conclusion with no indicators. But, you can tell it's not my strongest pursuit I guess.

How do you suggest I take the next step? I only had one quiz set so there's no more practice left through 7sage. Should I move on to learn about MSS... it's my next lesson. Or should I practice more MC with old PT's? If I practice more, how much more before I move on to my next lesson? FYI taking the Sept LSAT.

Thanks!

retaker2014 what factors went into your score to not score as high as your PTing? I am shooting for a 160+ as well.

ikethelsat:

Thank you! I believe I should stick to one so that I don't get confused. Since I purchased the 7sage course that's what I will stick to.

Your right 7sage makes it easy to track my progress and as soon as I get to that point I will know what type of games are my strength/weakness.

I REALLY needed the advice that I shouldn't get caught up on the details. I thought I DID and it was starting to overwhelm me. I thought I did have to look at a stage and go through the thinking process of how i'd approach it, do this, this, then this that maybe in the beginning but not forever.

So with improvising and reacting to new setups all it takes is practice, practice, and practice right?

chrijani7

Thank you for your help! I really do need more practice so that when I approach one I know the proper habits for each one. Again I feel relieved that once I have these games down I can just do them. I can't wait for it to become second nature .

THANKS GUYS!!! I feel better now going forward.

Studdy Buddy Sonoma/Marin County

I am looking to study with someone for the September LSAT. Getting help from each other, by giving tips, advice, and having someone to follow the same journey as me this summer! I am a 4.0 student but this LSAT is kicking my butt right now (been studying for only a week now). But I won't let it get to me!

If you are interested let me know.

I just started to study for the Sept LSAT. I did terrible on the logic games section in the diagnostic test. I have since then purchased materials, 7sage's course and did some online research.

Now more than ever am I confused with the games as I thought there were a couple of types and I just had to learn them. But, in each type their are sub-types and it looks like powerscore, 7sage, and the online resources I have found have different names for them?

Game 1 - Grouping: Splitting (Division)

Game 1 - Grouping: Matching

Game 2 - Grouping: In & Out (Selection)

Game 2 - Grouping: Matching + In & Out

Game 2 - Grouping: In & Out

Grouping: Defined fixed, unbalanced, underfunded

Grouping: Defined moving, balanced numerical distribution, identify the possibilities

Grouping: Defined fixed, unbalanced, overloaded, identify the templates

Grouping: Undefined

Grouping: Linear Combination, numerical distribution

Grouping: Partially defined, numerical distribution.

and there's TONS more. At this point I feel like I am wayyy in over my head. I believe that I am making it more complicated then this all is. But, I need someone to tell me how this all works then. I want to later on do drills and all these websites and my books call it different things so I don't know how to make practice "packets" for a type of game when there's 20 diff. grouping games.

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

My diagnostic was a 138 and after finishing the course I got a 153. I was learning new "things" every 2-3 days and the day after I finished the course without reviewing anything I jumped right in to take my first PT and scored the 153. My goal now is a 160. You can do this!!!

Thank you Jonathan! That's exactly what I needed to hear. If there was a progress curve or not. Now I know that I can expect anything at this point.

I also see that going from 153 to a 163 is a bigger jump then the 10pt increase I visually saw it as. Going from the 56th percentile score to an 89th percentile score is a HUGE increase and achieving that after one week of review and drills is unlikely. So, thanks for the reality check!!!

I took my first PT after finishing the course and scored a 153. I am taking a week off to go over my weaknesses by watching the lessons and practice Q's all over again. Plus drilling an addtl 20 Q's for each weakness. What kind of progress should I expect on my next PT? Or does it vary from person to person? So far I am getting 18/20 19/20 on my drills. I don't want to get discouraged so I am preparing myself for what would be a normal improvement from PT to PT. I kind of feel that doing good with my drills and reviewing all my lessons I could make a 163 on my next PT but that's impossible right? xD

If anyone can share their experience from their PT progress I would appreciate it!

I would love to join lsattutorinLA I will add you as a contact on Skype tonight. I just learned about inferences and started to diagram. I consider myself to be really early in the studying stage as I am still going through the lessons. So... maybe it won't work out for me to join.
