Digital LSAT format

Can anyone confirm that the new digital format immediately generates your score? If not, is there any decrease in turn around between taking the LSAT and receiving the score?

Any dramatic thoughts on the effects of the digital lsat at-large? Thanks!!

Hey @ ,

I just want to tell you I'm in the same boat... 3.7 ugpa from a good liberal arts college, and got a 159 back today. I don't really have t14 aspirations, but I had been scoring in the 160s previously. I'm also so over continuing to study, but I think I'm going to take the January test. BC/W&L/Emory were my targets. The predictor tools would give you a shot at those schools. For me, I know I'm not going to wait another year, regardless. I say keep grinding, and hope for the best! Cast a wide net. See what happens. Just know you're not the only one feeling bummed. I get frustrated seeing these kick ass scores by lots of other users, knowing I've put in a lot of work too. The sun will come up. Don't stress.

Calculating the Admission Index

Hey all-

I've just jumped down the rabbit hole of attempting to calculate my "academic summary index" score. For anyone who is unfamiliar with what I'm referring to, view it here: https://www.lsac.org/key-online-academic-summary-report?access-code=academic-summary.

2 questions: 1) once my LSAT score is made available, will the LSAC actually make my score visible to me for me to check? The website says students can write in if they find errors, but I'm not sure where to look to confirm my info is accurate. 2)I'm an undergraduate admissions officer currently, and I understand pretty well how these algorithms are generated. I'm wondering if anyone else can speak to how any given schools weighs this data? From my best guess crunching some numbers, it seems to me that every school is ultimately going to consider admission for a student who has a calculated score of (0.0.(/p)

If anyone can provide clarity, it'd be greatly appreciated!

Early Decision Incentives

Does anyone know of a complete of schools that guarantee financial aid to applicants who are accpeted under Early Decision? I.e., Northwestern will give 20k to any student admitted under ED? It seems to be at random, and I am trying to avoid searching each and every school's policy. Thanks!

@, I cant think of an immediate example, but I take your point: as long as the result doesn't contradict a different established rule, then accept it. Thanks for some clarity and encouragement.

Chaining Conditional Statements Help

#help!

Greetings all! I've gotten really good at identifying and parsing conditional statements... I can quickly identify the indicator group and from there the rest is history. However, for whatever reason, I'm really struggling with chaining the statements together. On the syllabus examples, the Game of Thrones prompt really threw me for a loop and I ended up with way more possibilities that weren't addressed in the explanation. This is so frustrating because I've gained so much ground but ultimately know that if I cant combine the statements then I'm really not that much better off on any LG.

Im specifically struggling with understanding whether or not in an actual scenario the implicit contrapositive can always be applied. Obviously, the rule says it can, but I'm getting the feeling that practically you shouldn't always assume so. My intuition is getting it...

Does anyone else struggle with this? Is there any more material that I'm missing to better explain and practice chaining? Do I need to just do more and more practice LGs and see where I improve? Thanks!

Im just beating same dead horse here... I'd felt really well-prepared going in to the October test, and completely and utterly fell apart in the LG section. If I crack into the 160's, I'll be shocked. Good luck everyone, and keep grinding. Hard work pays off, and you can always test again. Regardless of the score, you'll never take your first LSAT again, and the anxiety will hopefully never be quite as bad. Keep your head up.

@ you're right. I work in undergrad admissions, and from my vantage, they could only be tracking that data to boost their own diversity numbers. Which is extremely important! I don't mean to undermine that. But, it is obviously not going to benefit me if my application is read as a majority applicant, rather than demographically neutral.

Thanks @. @, I reiterare @: Can you explain more why you think it would reflect negatively?

"Prefer not to say" Demographics

Is it ever in the interest of an applicant to select the 'prefer not to say' on a demographics section of a given application? I am white male (who currently works in an undergraduate admissions office) and I am unsure of whether it's in my interest or not to disclose my race. Would it seem somehow misleading or consciously abusing the system to elect not to disclose the info, even when it is listed as an option? Thanks in advance, everyone!

@

Hey there. Same here. I was PTing around a 163/162 leading up to the exam. I scored a 155. I'm so frustrated. Hang in there, keep your head up. It's hard even being on the chat some times because there are so many high performers... trying to resist the constant need to compare. Bad days happen indeed. Best of luck to you!

A 164 is an 85th(ish) percentile score. It's within the 25th percentile score of a couple t14 schools. I think you would be crazy to cancel that score. All schools are going to take the highest score you get. That's a heck of baseline to start with. I say keep it! And just keep working to improve if its not ultimately where you want to be.
