Hi! His sales closed on March 21. You can email him and ask him if you can still buy it, but you won't be able to do it through the main site. larry@.com

I chose to change my clients' names when I included their stories in various essays just to play it safe. It sounded weird to me at first but after reading their pseudonyms so many times it sounds natural to me again.

@ Yes I totally agree! I just looked at all my percentages and thought "oh well!" I applied anyway :)

Hi! In his office hours, @ said this (to be interpreted with a grain of salt always since it is only a predictor):

20% or lower super reach

20-40% reach

40-60% target

60-80% probable target

80-100% safety

Hope that helps!

@ expressing solidarity with you! I'm feeling similar but plan to use the rest of this afternoon and tomorrow to decompress and keep my mind busy with things other than the LSAT. Saturday is just another test- I know I've taken a bunch and I'm sure you have too. We've got this- truly!

Hi! My process is not fancy but gets the job done. I elevate my phone on a book and then lean it against something (ex: a kleenex box) that is on top of the book.I have used tape to help angle the phone down a bit, but I have been able to figure out timing, etc. with it just elevated and propped. The videos I usually bluetooth from my phone to my computer. I have only had success uploading 1 to Google Drive b/c the files were too big. I tried zipping them and everything, so I'm not sure what the secret to the upload process is.

@ Thanks so much for this! I am searching all over the syllabus for PT B and can't find it. Is it on 7Sage Ultimate?

Before I took my test at Western CO, I looked for test center reviews and couldn't find one. Hoping this will ease your mind if you're considering testing here.

First, I had a WONDERFUL testing experience at Western CO. I had 5 other people testing with me and I believe there were 2 other students testing with accommodations in another room.

Proctors: We had 1 proctor in the testing room and 1 outside of the room who watched coats/bags/etc that were left outside. The in-room proctor left the room 1 time to switch with the outside proctor I'm assuming to use the bathroom or something. The in-room proctor kept and called time appropriately. He was quiet for the duration of the exam. I also believe they helped a girl re-print her admission ticket. They were SUPER nice.

Facilities: The test was in Kelley Hall. The bathroom was right across from the testing room. During break and before the exam, we were able to walk the long hallway of the building or wait on one of the many couches in the building.

What kind of room: It was in a room with 4 levels of long tables. The chairs were comfortable. A clock and whiteboard were at the front of the room. The temperature of the room was comfortable. I had on a tank top and flannel shirt with yoga pants and boots. I also had a scarf and jacket just in case, but they were unnecessary.

How many in the room: 6 test takers total. There was tons of space and it was very quiet.

Desks: Long tables. There was one other girl sitting at my table ~15 seats away. I had ample room for my 12 pencils...and my tissues, sharpener, etc.

Left-handed accommodation: The long tables are definitely lefty friendly.

Noise levels: Quiet and awesome. The proctor only spoke to deliver time warnings and instructions.

Parking: I walked (~10 min) from my hotel (Holiday Inn Express), but I saw others had parked in the free lot at the entrance of campus. Campus is pretty small...there is parking everyone or you can easily walk from nearby hotels.

Time elapsed from arrival to test: I arrived just before 8 am. They started checking people in just before 8:30. I think we started section 1 around 8:50?

Irregularities or mishaps: None to report. The test administration went off seamlessly!

Other comments: This was a GREAT place to take the test. This was the closest place for me to take it and I'm super glad I chose here vs somewhere bigger. The atmosphere was laid back and everyone was respectful and friendly.

Would you take the test here again? YES! Fingers crossed I won't have to though...

Date of Exam: November 17, 2018

This is the testing center website just FYI: https://www.western.edu/student-affairs/testing-services

Hi! I used it and it was very helpful. I sent what I considered to be my final draft. They polished it and suggested ways I could make my narrative more compelling. I was able to incorporate their suggestions and make the final final draft something I feel proud of. I would suggest having others you trust and you edit your personal statement first and then send them a very polished version. Hope that helps!

Adding to my initial review that I took the test here again in January and I was the only person in my testing room. There was another tester in a different room. Proctor was great again. Western CO is a solid place to take the LSAT plus you can go to Crested Butte after to celebrate :)

I'm going to say that I was "pre-phrasing" after watching webinars on here about it, and I then I got a tutor and we threw that strategy completely out the window. His logic was to use the answer choices as a guide and help the test work to my advantage. I found that pre-phrasing often led me to a red-herring answer or messed me up. This may be an unpopular opinion on here, but that is my 2 cents. Best of luck! Hope you find the strategy that works for you!

Wooo great job! It is the best feeling to finally be DONE :) Hope you celebrate!

I'm hesitant to post this, but it's driving me crazy, so here goes:

During a study break, I went down a rabbit hole and came across this article: https://www.theroot.com/the-five-types-of-becky-1798543210

Now I'm sitting here translating this and feeling confused. I'm also wondering if I'll ever be able to read anything again without translating it to lawgic.

Obviously I understand the point of this statement, but my brain that just reviewed the existential quantifier lessons cannot make sense of this: Not all white women are Beckys, but all Beckys are white women.

Translation:

Some White women are not Beckys

BUT

If you're a Becky, then you're a white woman. (Beckys --> White women)

I'm envisioning a circle representing "white women" world with a smaller circle inside of it representing "Beckys" world. Where I'm thrown off is that "some" indicates an intersection relationship and my representation seems to be more of an all encompassing relationship.

Thoughts?

Hi @ ! I have tried both bubbling after each question and bubbling in groups (after each page for LR, after each passage/game for RC/LG). I find bubbling in groups most beneficial for me. I also use a method mentioned by @ (I think) in a post on bubbling errors where I use put my left pointer finger on the question number, my left thumb on the answer choice, and use my right hand to bubble in on the scantron (obviously switch if you are left handed). This has helped me decrease bubbling errors with group bubbling and skipping.

To answer your question specifically, I DO put marks (typically a straight line) next to questions that I skip (I also double circle these in the booklet). At the 5 min mark, ideally I'm already back looking at the questions that I've skipped, but at this point I typically erase the marks that I made on the scantron b/c otherwise I get too nervous that I'll leave them there by accident. Also, at the 5 min mark I switch to bubbling per question vs. group bubbling.

There are lots of posts on bubbling and some insight offered in the webinar videos on bubbling. That's where I got all the tips mentioned above.

Hope that helps!

@ I got a tutor after taking the LSAT in November to help me solidify my LR skills and identify specific areas I need to focus on. Having a tutor has helped me to solidify my timing and my approach to test taking in general. I appreciate the insight that my tutor has had to offer on "tricks" that the LSAT writers employ that are not necessarily highlighted in the videos. I wish I had started with a tutor sooner in my LSAT journey- I maybe wouldn't have to be taking the test this 2nd go round. If you're able to hire a tutor, I highly recommend it. I used the tutors provided in the link mentioned above and emailed them all for their availability. I chose my tutor based on $$ and availability. I also knew I needed help with LR, so I chose one who specializes in LR. My tutor I had an initial free consultation and I found it helpful, so I committed. Hope that helps!

He responded to my email! And just for clarification's sake, he said all sales close after the ~17 day window. The course doesn't "sell out" since it's online.

Post-Vanderbilt Application Interview Review

Hi!

I elected to do an interview as part of my Vanderbilt application. I didn't see any other posts about this on the forum, so I wanted to share my experience.

The "interview" was over lunch. It was really more of a conversation and less of an interview. He did not ask me any questions remotely similar to an interview question. We chatted about the law school application process in general, the law school experience, the reality of law school debt, etc. His insight was very useful and reminiscent of the advice given in Don't Go to Law School Unless... that I read this past weekend.

If you have your Vanderbilt interview coming up that you chose to do as part of your application, no worries! I prepped all these question answers, which was useful, but not entirely necessary. I'm sure my experience is in part dependent upon my interviewer being very casual, but it seems as if these interviews are just to figure out if you're a nice person who would make an interesting and pleasant classmate to the incoming students.

Be yourself and soak in the insight that your interviewer has to offer! Best of luck this application season!

UNC Statement Essay1(Personal Statement) Question

Hi,

UNC Chapel Hill has a specific personal statement prompt that reads:

The legal profession plays a vital role in the pursuit of justice and in sustaining the institutions of society, including governments, private corporations and organizations, nonprofit organizations, families and individuals. Please write a statement discussing why you want to become a member of the legal profession and why you think you are prepared for the ethical, professional, and time demands of the profession.

My personal statement is a narrative and indirectly answers these questions but doesn't spell it out so specifically as it seems the question is asking. I wrote an essay that answers these questions specifically, but it seems more like a résumé rehash and way less interesting than my personal statement. My personal statement is 2 pages (the limit for UNC), so I don't have a lot of wiggle room other than decreasing the font to size 10 (their minimum font size).

Is anyone else applying to Chapel Hill? Did you write a new personal statement or just tweak a narrative version that you're using for other schools?

Thank you!

Can that "or" be an inclusive "or" and you practice both LR and start on LG? Coming from someone who wishes she'd stayed brushed up on LR (and meant to but didn't) while I worked through the LG curriculum and foolproofed...

Edit: never mind. Just searched “buy” on his website and it says sales are closed. You can sign up to join the waitlist.

Has anyone purchased this this year? I’m confused a little about the website and was only able to find the purchase link thru the link posted above.
